Here's an override I intend to try out again for EE:
colorized icon overrides.
On 1.69, I used colorized icons from
the NWN Vault.
The original creator of those icons has made an EE compatible version on the Steam workshop.
Their main
workshop page has links to their work.
Thus far I've installed "Colorized Icons - Combined", "Colorized Scroll Icons - Generation 2", "Colorized Spell Icons - Generation 2".
How I Installed The Workshop Items:
- Went to the workshop page (linked above) and logged into my Steam account.
- Selected the appropriate workshop item (e.g. "Colorized Icons - Combined").
- Selected the Subscribe button below the workshop item screenshots.
- Started up Steam to have it download the subscribed workshop elements.
- Went to the Steam workshop folder for my install of Steam. (For me this was in steamapps\workshop\content)
- Found the folder for the workshop items related to Amethyst Dragon (which is "704450").
- Opened the "704450" folder then opened up related folders for the workshop items (e.g. "1345867783" for "Colorized Icons - Combined")
- Copied the contents of the override folder from the Steam workshop folder over to the override folder in my NWN EE documents folder (Documents\Neverwinter Nights\override)
Essentially, go to the steam workshop page, subscribe, find the files in the workshop folder, copy them to the override folder in documents, then start up the game and you've got colorized icons.
Can This Work For GoG/Beamdog/etc.?
You should be able to make a Steam account, download/install Steam, and subscribe to workshop items 100% unrelated to actually owning NWN: EE on Steam. I did a quick googling around and didn't find this specific override stuff outside of Steam. But, again, you don't have to own the Steam version to still subscribe to and get the override items.
You would need to grab the files from the workshop folder and copy them to your GoG/Beamdog override folder instead of Steam, though.
Not quite a one-stop unzip and copy/paste as the NWN vault but it works.
EDIT: I decided to take the contents of the 3 packs mentioned above and put them into
a single zip file here that can be unzipped and put into the override folder.
