Entire EE Team

Post by David A Smith » Sun Sep 04, 2022 2:57 pm

The amount of effort this weekend to prepare the players and the servers for the transition to EE has been incredible. The quick turn-around to questions, the level of detail provided to make the transition easier, the effort being put forward to make the players looking for bugs to have a great time, I can't say enough about how well run and dedicated this team is. So, I will keep it short and simple. This team is the best team I could hope for as a player. And I want you to know the sincere respect and adoration I have for you. I hope you are having as much fun as we players are.

It's nice to do it for something that's not some state, govt, or some corporate conglomerate. We get to help the community and create, enhance, and improve on things we're passionate about.

It's a whole different world when you do something because you want to do it. Even when it's not easy, frustrating at times when your hobby is harder work than real work.

:cooler: Cheers to the rest of the "EE Team" who's making it happen! Keep it up, I see the light at the end of the tunnel! October, here we come.

Honestly, I have no idea HOW we are managing. I, the QA admin, am managing new hire in a corporate wonderland Monday to Friday, plus weekend shifts to boot. krackq, the server admin, is managing several young ladies repainting the household. Some of the painting is intentional, some - not really. tizmo, the CCC admin, appears like a vision in the fog when his job permits. Buddha, the CCC modeling wizard, is managing an overseas migration of his entire family while sorting out player character custom heads. Caydo entered CCC with the specific goal to convert our existing DM tools, and that somehow passed muster with just a few DM testers. Darkfire has been managing the Avlis Wiki while on the lookout for new EE bugs to fix. Gorgon, the legendary EE project navigator, is somehow managing to deal with all of us ... and I hear the Event DM group spent the weekend managing a battlefield (goats vs. raccoons). October cannot arrive soon enough.

I will not take, I will have.

Thanks guys. Two very late nights but very definitely worth while.

To quote Jeremy Clarkson during their visit to Vietnam, “You don’t know Man. You weren’t there!”

Well we were there and we witnessed the event IC. Good times even if we didn’t actually get to do much.

Thanks for all your efforts and putting all your time towards this transition. I do not doubt it was tough but it's really appreciated.
