... I don't consider these bad parts of Avlis. I consider them great RP opportunites on Avlis... hmm, difference of opinion I suppose. Is Avlis getting you down?
Is the Legion of Darkness killing all your merchants?
Are lunatics destroying all your anvils?
Are roving groups of bandits stealing your gold?
Is the Order of Gorethar giving you a hard time?
Fed Up with Avlis?

Is there any kind of IC reason to visit Hala?I was wondering if there was a way to make quests that would start on Avlis and end on Hala or vice versa,or even make some kind of trade route.Maybe herbs that are in short supply here are plentiful there, you get the idea.
I keep planning on trying out Hala, but just haven't gotten around to it.Hell,I think I finally have a character or two that I really like rping with, and I've hardly gone very far outside Mikona or Elysia, let alone visit ANOTHER world, but a visit to Hala does sound fun.

For Elysia people, there is an IC reason. There's a post in the board, saying, Come to this portal, go to a new world! If you want, recruit for the T'Nanshi army! Its a big advertisement. You could go there to explore, or whatever. That doesn't help the people in Mikona though- for one, I never icly read the Elysia boards, so I don't know its there. But if you frequent Elysia, you should have a reason, if its just your IC curiosity.

How about instead of just asking for players to go along, create an IC reason for some of us to visit. Like Bolo said, cross world quests could be interesting. Or perhaps a messenger could be sent from Hala to find adventurers willing to help.
At the moment, I doubt many people have an IC reason to visit, and not enough time to play both an Avlis character and a Hala one.

Another good reason was being created by players (albeit unknowingly probably
), but it had to stop: HALA has a huge crafting site in Nagritch with lots of anvils lined up for use and a shop next to them.
With Hala slowly fleshing out, i'm sure Orl, Pitch and the teams will be able to create some cross-border quests to and fro. As i understood there are also plans for connecting HALA with other parts of AVLIS (please correct me if i'm wrong), which will make the threshold lower for people who reside in Mikona.
Give it some time.
And Max, don't sweat it. Like subspace said:
* Are the elves not letting you get your living space
* Are you sick of humans trying to kill your favorite tree?
* Are you fed up with the sight of Amonien's blue outfit?
* Will you scream if you hear "Welcome to the fair folk" one more time?
Nothing of this is a bad thing of Avlis (well, apart from Amonien's outfit, that REALLY has to go!!! Orl, change Angadar's color to yellow please, this is really screwed up!!!
). In fact, with all these things gone, it just wouldn't be...Avlis, as we know it and love it.
Let's just enjoy the expansion of our character's lifespace. As i understood there are many more worlds to come. Let's be as welcoming to them as we are to new servers being added to the Avlis world.

Apart from the first, they are all IC descriptors of things happening to a character that COULD be a reason for a change of scenery for a while. You could easily expand the list with things like:Quote:
Is Avlis getting you down?
Is the Legion of Darkness killing all your merchants?
Are lunatics destroying all your anvils?
Are roving groups of bandits stealing your gold?
Is the Order of Gorethar giving you a hard time?

I know those aren't the bad parts, but they *can* be construed as 'bad', and were being portrayed as such. I don't mind the ad itself- but the 'bashing' of the world (or at least, perceivable as such), and then the promotion of another one, throws me off.

THAT's what I meant. That tone, whatever. My post was rude, I admit it, but I felt the original was rude as well. *shrugs* So whatever, I'm done.subspace001 wrote:Yeah, sorry Morbid, this was just a tad overboard. Avlis people are more than welcome to come over, but the tone of your post sounds more like "Come to Hala if you're sick of Avlis."
