Gorgon YO!

Post by nihprodne » Mon May 13, 2013 7:59 pm

Just a friendly rave for the master of game mechanics. Can't even count the times this dude has gone out of his way to help me figure out something relative to the nwn/avlis engine...whats more, he does it in a friendly way.

It's rare to find enthusiasm regarding mechanics, and even better...the man plays a Ranger!!

Props for being helpful over the years Gorgon!!

What a narrow minded view. I'll have you know this game is also for playing sorcerers. :glaskugel:

*Wonders if it is a bad time to mention he's been outsourcing all his stuff to little people answering phones for spare change, in countries with names he can't even pronounce* :P

Thanks all. I love Avlis. Nuff said!

I just want to say, you make me happy. Every time I see a post by you, I feel happy!
I don't even have a specific at this moment reason, and I have no idea if our PC's ever run into each other, but I appreciate you!
You do a LOT, and you are kind, you are always kind.

We just got home (reealy late), and decided to check some online stuff before bed when we read this.

Thanks so much!

I even got a big hug because of it... or the super-cure cat pics and videos Hamlet sent us that we were also looking at, but I'll take it either way.
:D

*edits* Oh, forget the stuff I said about Hamlet sharing cute kitten pics. She told me she's gotta keep up her sith overlord rep here while running QA stuff... though I think the Star Wars movies woulda been better with Darth and the rest of them all doing their thing with a cute kitty in tow ("These are not the cats you are looking for..." :irre2: ).

Going to give a shout out to Gorgon specifically this time. The sheer amount of technical knowledge with nwn he has is amazing. With our EE conversion, one big issue we've had is players and migration of their accounts. For those with issues, the fixes involved file editing on the back end, server restarts (sometimes multiple), multiple pm's and conversations (hundreds!), and even then sometimes manual copy over afterwards. Our most recent update, implemented a new login method based on a side comment from nwnx devs that I mentioned and Gorgon completely ran with. The time to fix returning player issues now is almost immediately and requires no more server restarts, etc. I fixed an alt for someone after a single pm and one change on the back end that took just a few minutes. Kudos for all the stuff you've done through all of this and continue to do.

HUZZAH!! for Gorgon!! Thank you for all your work and even way back when for your RPing times. I hear that he just lives next door to where I am at, so maybe one day I will drive out there and visit.....but after thinking that through with all those silly drivers I would have to contend with........

I've said this in the past but Gorgon is the bomb, hopefully, someday he can find time and interest to come and play again.
