Prestigeclass does not wok

MAybe someone can help me.
I wanted to start one of the new classes ( arcane archer ) in the singleplayer-mod.

Reached the following :

WIzzard(1) Ranger(4)
BaseAttack: +8

Feats: Point blank shot, Weaponfocus Longbow ... some more

Race: Elf

Alliggnment: Neutral good

As a wizzard i am able to use 1lvl Spells.

So i guess i have all requirements for the arcane archer, but i still cannot choose it.

Does someone know why ?

The base attack bonus of a wizard 1/ranger 4 is 4 and not 8. The attack bonus you are talking about probably includes the dexterity or strength bonus and the weapon focus.

uhm.. it was reported earlire that currently all prestige classes are locked until quests are written for them

I had this same problem. When you're at the character selection screen, click your character and scroll down to make sure that BAB or Base Attack Bonus is 6. That's before all the other enhancements you get from equipment and such. Or, if you want to check your BAB the other way, look on your NWN Manual, pg 179. Hope that helps.
