Cannot connect to Wilderness, Le'Or, Visimontium - RESOLVED!

Servers do not display in gamespy listing. Using direct connect. Just times out on ports 5122, 5124, 5129. Turned off my Firewall. Checked my router. Anyone seen this before?

All modules are up here. They run from the one Avlis Beast server in separate virtual machines, so if you are only seeing some of them, then it is on your end (or the route between).

Using direct connect is far more reliable with the IP#, not DNS name too. Avlis has a static IP, so you can use 96.57.173.162:port# to avoid any delay/fail with your DNS servers looking up the world.avlis.org DNS stuff before translating to those numbers.

Grunt explains using batch files in a simple way in the link above, but I'd use the IP number instead of world.avlis.org there. It isn't going to change, and skips all DNS hiccups (always faster too, even if you cache DNS stuff, since you are cutting out that step entirely).

Bleh. No dice. Same thing happens when attempting to portal to one of the servers from one I can connect to. Let me run some tracert type analysis and see what's going on..

hope you can figure out what is going on. i have been having the exact same problems here myself.

i use the gamespy part to have the severs available in one spot without having to do the other things Gorgon posted. more convenience then anything for me.

the severs are blacked out like they are resetting. strange thing is they will sometimes be blacked out on one list and not the other.....

if i see it blacked out and try a direct connect it still fails, so i was just thinking they were in reset mode.

Trying to connect to any server just hangs at the moment. Same for Hala/Ysgard to figure an alpha issue?

sorry to hear your problems but also happy to find out i am not the only one it is happening to,
even my wife is having trouble with a slow Facebook always seem to happen at once,

Nope, it happens for me as well. I see all the servers, it finds it - and trying to log on, and then is timed out.

Status for CoPaP (& a related server) - connection via Gamespy

Avlis: all servers hang
Arkaz: all servers up & ok to log in
Hala/Ysgard: both ask for password
Tairis: hangs
SilverSpire: can connect OK
QA1: crashed on connection, now unable to see/hangs
QA2: can connect OK

Ditto on the hang up even when typing the ip+port into direct connect.

QA1/2 problems (fixed) are unrelated to Alpha but the rest of what badja lists definitely looks like a global authentication issue.

Sorry just saw this (been in meetings all afternoon). I just restarted the Alpha service and was able to log in again to Wilderness. Pretty sure I know the issue so it shouldn't happen again.

So, I'm having a similar problem to this. I can see (and log into/portal over to) exactly three servers (Wilderness, Le'Or, and Deglos) and all the others are greyed out and neither direct connection nor portaling works. Halp?
