We have received reports that stored items will disappear permanently when retrieved. This includes when buying from P-merchants.
There is currently no ETA on when this issue may be resolved but we are working on it.
In the meantime we ask that you do not attempt to buy or retrieve items, as we cannot at this time promise we will be able to restore them for you.
Thank you for your patience.

Does this also include your corpse when/if you die?

Re: - From the Team: Please Read -
Good question.
As long as the server does not crash it should be perfectly safe to die and then later retrieve your items.
However, should the server crash while you are doing your death run do NOT login with that particular PC until the problem has been resolved, as the automatic restoration process is similar to that which p-merchants and storage use to retrieve items.
Once the problem has been resolved you can login as normal and the items from your corpse will be returned to you directly.
During this period you also do not have to worry about being dry-looted as the items only exist in the database and cannot be stolen IG.

As a side note: Should the game for any reason shutdown while you are doing your deathrun, I'd recommend that you login with another PC to check whether it was the game or the server that crashed. All to stay on the safe side.

Wish I knew this before I tried retrieving my +8 wis ring. Poof! Gone, like it never existed...

Re: - From the Team: Please Read -
The problem has been identified and a fix is in the works. The issue affects ep-chests, p-merchants and p-corpses only.
I was able to apply a workaround. However if any server (except Mikona) gets restarted, the workaround will need to be reapplied until the permanent fix gets fielded.
I strongly urge people to buy a cheap item from any p-merchant to test if the workaround is in effect.

It's even MORE his fault for NOT being here!!!
Guess me going through and pulling things my house to p-merchant is going to have to wait until this is fixed.
Lastly I have a question concerning this then.
How does this affect placing something in storage from your current inventory?
Re: - From the Team: Please Read -
This is just my observation, but I have seen no problems with that so far, unless it all disappears later for some reason.Cougar wrote:How does this affect placing something in storage from your current inventory?

We are close to having this fixed. Please be careful this weekend, but we should have it taken care of soon.
Re: - From the Team: Please Read -
I am curious to why this this has worked for years and out of no where went crazy? Surely it was something that was added in wasn't it?TripleAught wrote:We are close to having this fixed. Please be careful this weekend, but we should have it taken care of soon.

Has this been declared fixed yet? I managed to buy some stuff on the Wilderness server, but I figured I'd get the official word.

This is working fine again on all servers as a permantant fix, except Visi which has the temp fix still in place.

Do you have 50 items in your inventory? The inventory count on saving your location has been an intended feature for some time now.rufusstone wrote:mining just now in nelthrope and if i save my location it still says 'You have 50 items in your inventory'. Should that be fixed as well?

Mine has been saying this since the DB has started having problems and after mining, I am guessing I have 1,000 or more ore in my bags.Grunt wrote:Do you have 50 items in your inventory? Yeah, all my chars report the same: 50 items. Also had a brief weirdness where my chars would stop attacking and the words "Script fired." appeared in the log window. Happened constantly so you had to keep clicking hostiles. It stopped after a day or two.
Re: - From the Team: Please Read -
If you save with the crafting menu it has been saying 50 and if you save with the /save it says you have 99 from my experiences.

Me as well. We had similar reports on Twin Cities just last week, and our only real connection w/ Avlis is a portal (our own DB). Nobody added/deleted/modified any code/fixes/etc in a while, either. Our DB was working fine when I checked, but nobody's told me yea or nay on if we have the problem fixed yet.Zerub wrote:I am curious to why this this has worked for years and out of no where went crazy? I marked on the other thread, that all servers except Visi have been fixed, and visi has a temp fix in.

All servers have now been corrected, including Visimontium. Persistent storage should once again be safe.
