Quick Question

Post by jcdunn » Wed Aug 20, 2003 4:25 pm

Ok I've never screwed around with NWN in this aspect and figured I'd ask it here to get a quick asnwer since I am at work, the idea came to me, and I figured ask here isntead of waiting to get home tonight and find out myself.

ANYWAYS, on to the question. Can you force players to use pre-genned toons in a server vault game by making them before hand and then when the player logs in it automatically forces them into that character?

I suppose you can put them in their server vault and make sure local characters are disabled and also new characters... Don't know if you can disable new character though, but might be worth a shot to try to. Then again you could simply refuse to accept them until they login with the correct character (ie if they login with a wrong character put them in a sort of prison area)

You could put the characters in the servervault, under the appropriate Gamespy logins, and you could either manually remove any other characters or add a script that kicks people out who are not playing one of the "approved" characters.

I suppose you could even force everyone to play the same character... what an interesting world that would be:

"Hi Jim!"
"Hey, how's it going, Jim?"
"Fine, thanks. Say, did you see Jim today?"
"No, I think he, Jim, and Jim are busy with guild business."

"No its Micheal"
"Thats gonna cause a bit of confusion...mind if we call ya Jim just to keep things straight?"

Micheal? What the hell is that French?
There is no French in this world, you need to change your name back to Jim...
