Roleplayer of the Year 2010 RESULTS!

Post by Belasco » Wed Jan 12, 2011 4:42 am

Avlis's RPotY 2010's coveted 1st place goes to two amazing PC's

 Andrew Fears
and
:eg: Emrys Y'Coeden :eg:

The illustrious honors of RPotY 2010's 2nd place goes to:

<[8) Cassandra Aske <[8)

Many many sincere thank you's for all of the wonderful comments that went to live behind the curtain.

Comments:

Fletcher Millstone for Ruler of Everything!!!

Thorfinn has been outstanding all year. Its hard to believe everything he withstands and has happen to him, and takes care of, and yet still manages to be an outstanding public figure. Good natured and true to his path, Thorfinn never disapoints. A true Hero.

I would like to shout out the Player Eklektikos, because I cannot choose which of his PCs I love the most. Always amazing, always outstanding, no matter who he is playing, he stands at the very heights of Avlis RP for me. Good show old chap!

Liam and Dillon... women love them, and men want to be them, what else can I say?

Yenefer played a great game this year. Amazing character concept, fantastic player!

Silver Fox rules.

I voted Emrys and Jensen for playing in tells, in forums and on line and keeping in character even during a hot debate.

Cassandra Aske stands way out from the crowd this year. Kudos to her (and her player's) indomitable spirit.

Rhiss is Rhiss. A dominating character and so so fun to play with.

Liam and Dillon are pure fun. Consistently well played and totally hilarious, these two are always committed to having a good time, and to making sure you have one too. There is no higher praise I can give to two of Avlis' most marvellous characters.

What can be said that hasn't been said a hundred times already? Liam is the reason I keep coming back to Avlis. I can't stop wondering what he is up to.

Keekee continues to amaze with every interaction.

Zven-More to this dark gnome than meets the eye!

Keekee-Simply an amazing character!

Rose is a character I often overlook when thinking about my choices for RPotM. She is consistently well played, always true to her character and I admire her for that, it's not easy to stick to youor guns in a world like Avlis, but Rose has performed admirably. She near always makes me laugh and often stuns me with the depth of thought that goes into the most chance encounter.

Kory blows..............................................................................me away with her stellar RP every time I have the pleasure of meeting her in game, her appearances have been few this year, well fewer than usual, but each asnd every one has been a role-playing experience to remember, I know this isn't something that everyone can appreciate, but having another character finish your character's sentences is awesome!! :D

Kish'ti, because we have been together for 4 RL years

Tomas “Smugface” Kelthran is an Avlis character in the truest sense, and captures the quintessence of a Valokian priest.

Dillon Wylde, the master axeman, the convivial hero of M’Chek, wooer of maidens, Champion of Southill, and perfect for any party.

Kassha is always great fun in any situation.  Gerald allowed me to develop some depth to my own PC.

No longer underrated, with last month's win under his belt, but Jack Barton remains a great character.  Funny, drunk, helpful, and a bit grouchy, he's always fun to play with.

Silver is a soldier all the way through.  She's exactly how I picture a leader of the M'Chek army.

Ahh Alana (Ari) and Leah (Nad) - Naughty, Sexy and all around awesome fun to be around, dirty girls!

1) Screw team Jacob! team Andrew would kick thier twilight asses!! Andrews been one hell of a role model for my character and I always have a great time Rping and interacting with him.

2) Lexy's Rped realy well, the player holds nothing back ,isn't shy about what his character is reguardless on what anyone may think. Kudos to Rudiki for such a great character.

Diabolina is an endearing  character that is rp'ed very well. She takes what she is given IC and tries to make everything part of her character's reality. She is devoutly IC at all times and never let's fatigue break her charming, thick accent.

The perpetual whipping-boy, Andrew Fears, takes his licks and serves them up too. While the character could have taken the easy road and concealed his faith, he instead took the hard road to the delight of the Boards posters and IG role-players alike. The character is compelling, has integrity and is delightfully evil.

In casting my vote(s) for RPotY, I think back over the past year.  I look for those characters that have “enriched my experience” and remained consistently engaging to RP with.  Not every great character is the “center of attention”.

Recalling last year, I have found Cassandra Aske to be a consistently engaging and engrossing character to RP with.  She often seems to accomplish things through ‘force of will’ alone.  The character has been so richly and fully developed, but still continues to grow, change and evolve.  She RP’s her class, alignment, race & religion all at the same time!  She also has a unique aspect: she encourages *other* character’s RP development.  RP’ing with her brings out better RP in other characters ~ this is the mark of someone who challenges others to match their RP.  For all these reasons, she deserves RPotY.

Since we only get two votes, several Honorable Mentions from 2010: Glenda, Diabolina, Evelynn, Koryanna, Pantera and Sher’cha.  Not all of them play regularly any more, which is a shame, because they are all enjoyable to interact with; they are all good RP’ers.

1. Kaz'shardra Aske - she's unique. And psychic. She's an unique psychic. Give her the prize and make her go away, I beg you, neighbour...

2. Finger should have been born a sorcerer, but became a wizard. Is it this discrepancy that makes him ascend as the new god of audacity and turpitude?

Lycanthrophes are damn scary!

Eve. Comes across as a very authentic character with great depth. Fabulous rp, all the time. I consider myself lucky to have the opportunity to spend this much time with her.

Gurky - The best character since Sliced Bread. Seriously. Ok, greatest crafting rp on Avlis and extremely creative gnomish-ness in general, every single moment has been fun with this character. Do I need to say more?

I'm out of votes (already???) so I'll have to make due with honorable mentions! Arania, Solveig, Lute, Tess, Kassha, Glenda, Sher'cha. Thanks for making Avlis a fun place to roleplay on!

Ever since I started on this server almost a year ago, Eleanor has been there, playing along with me, helping me, scolding me :), teasing me, all the while creating a personality that's believable without being boring and stale. Eleanor is the hero without the cape if you will.  Understated and calm, yet ready to help anytime, anywhere.
Rain, wow, interesting character to say the least.  Well thought out and creatively managed.

Roleplaying with Rain is like immersing yourself into another world, no matter if the phone rings or there's a knock on the door, you BELIEVE you're talking with a real live character from Avlis..... And... she is just so cute!

Eleanor has been an ever present force for me since starting my play on avlis. Her roleplay is consistent and true to her character. Rain is a true delight. Roleplay with her has brought me many cherished moments.

Alexis Dufresne Montjoie: Consistent delightful and well thought-out RP both in game, and on the forums.

Rhissaerk: Warlord of Drotid, Slayer of Vanoviel, Vanquisher of the Gloscht bottle, and Guard for Elf Gate.  'nuff said!

I would also like to mention my 3rd candidate, Andrew Fears, who has actively, and successfully, worked to change lycanthropes from a bogie man story for scaring little kids to a credible and tangible force of evil.

Hats off to Rhiss for always being in character and always being a good sport about things.  It's not easy playing someone on the opposing side to so many other PCs and managing to keep it real OOCly.

Fru is a great guy and so is the player.  This character has always been RP'd with great care and skill.  A primary example of the kinds of people that make this place a great place to play.

I have no idea how to say Glenda's last name, but she still rules despite being MIA (I miss her).

And Cassandra for being Cassandra all year round.
