July 2010 RPotM RESULTS!

Post by Belasco » Sun Aug 08, 2010 12:52 am

First he took Elysia then he took our hearts! In first place...

Rhissaerk Jalesh

Right behind him another badass in his own right!

Sam Badoc

Honorable Mentions go to:
The Fall of Elyisa:
Okay, so I know the fall of Elysia isn't a character per se... but the amazing depth and consistency it's been putting into its recent change of character, as well as all the hours it's devoted to roleplaying itself both in terms of directed on-screen stuff and off-screen planning, all the subtle little nods it makes, and most of all the way it has mixed up all the old norms of avlis and gotten new people talking- all of these things make me think it deserves RPer of the month.
This month's real winner: VIVE LA RESISTANCE!

All of the DM Staff:
I want to commend the DM’s for all their hard work over the last month.
Avlis!
For the first time since I started voting, I am deliberately not voting for anyone this month. This is, simply, because I cannot pick out only two deserving players this month. There were so many good stories during the invasion storyline I think I’d be slighting so many players by trying to vote for just two. There were MANY tales of triumph, tragedy and loss, and I truly hope the team will allow all of them to be considered as RP’ers of the month this time.
and
NPC Jillian Tenosiel aka the Dagger Lady

Comments!

Honorable mentions... there are too many that deserve it: Thror Stormhammer, for his apt portrayal of the archetypal battle-hardened dwarf paladin; Sher'Cha for her joyful perseverance in the face of darkness; Hogdish for being the picture perfect evil idiot (I heard about the experimentation with fox's cunning, I so wish I'd been there!); Diabolina for her commitment to caring about the IC world; Terra for her consistent gritty, believable matter-of-factness; Ozyreal for being the latest in the grand tradition of Red hedonists; Liam for being goddamn Liam; on and on and on and on. Seriously, can we just add a checkbox that says "Avlis" and if it wins first prize, everyone gets 500 XP or something?

Rhissaerk is an extraordinary character that's very lifelike, love that happy Warlord!

Kassha and Pantera: Proposing on the battlefield = RPotM vote from me!

I love seeing how characters change and their story developing in time, so I give thumbs up to Rue! When ever we meet it's always enjoyable.

During the battles for Elysia and the days leading up to it, these two characters brought a new life to my RP in their interactions with her. Either through finding a love that was lost or protecting a good friend from herself, RPing off of Gerald and Kurn was an honor and a privilege.

Harlow Ju'eilo - She set me on fire : )

Lily: a bubble of curiosity and charm, truly falling into the role of the mage her mentors are shaping her into.

Sam: A truly impressive entrance for a new character, showing a level of attention to detail that I think has shocked most players here. Kudos!

Ashling: Cause she sh!ts rainbows and butterflies as she that damn perky

Thorfinn is probably one of the most pleasant good guys I have dealt with in this game. And it can't be easy to do while leading an army.

Liam Dald can add some spice to any write-up. If Liam is writing it, you should be reading it.

Sam Badoc: A true newbie who has clearly taken the world lore seriously and whos characters fit unusual but workable niches. And he's fun. I want him to know we love it~

Fergus Goodmane - A *tiny* part of me thinks he puts forth tremendous effort toward his rp.

Pantera puts her hips (and everything else!) into being one wild swinging rootin' tootin' maiden with attitude! Brilliantly played as always!

Keekee is one cute terrifying little kobald, kinda like those little lap dogs that would inspire brain overcuddlyness syndrome except for the Mohawk, spiked collar and nose ring.

Rhissaerk is one of those guys that inspires you to make a new character just to play with the bad guys. How's that for top notch?

Sam has been a fun new addition. Great concept and well rp'd.

Frulamin is a new guy but there isn't a single moment I've spent with him that I haven't enjoyed. He's hit the ground running and I can't wait to see what he does next!

Rhiesserk~ What can one say? He's driving the campaign right now. Probably 90% of the PCs who are being played have had some interaction with him.

It's a delight to see Glenda working optimally.

So much sexy! So few votes. As usual I have voted for myself 6 times on three different accounts. That should help my odds. *rubs hands together greedily*

As I have been wandering daintily around M'Chek mostly alone, as it seems less populated of late, I was at a loss for which fine player character should receive my ungarnered adulation. After some to and fro, I came to the conclusion that my own character, Karna'Yeritath Zamanaena has been exemplary played this month, especially without the quarrelsome friction that would arise and compromise his stature when meeting other characters. I therefore cast the vote for my own character: Karna'Yeritath Zamanaena of the Ebony. Bel Note: NOT from Karna's player

Go Warlord Snuggie~

Seeing as there were none who lived up to my lofty expectations this month, I am left with no choice by to vote for my own character, Karna'yeritath Zamanaena. Bel Note: Also NOT from Karna's player

Clickie - Puts a human face on the drotid conflict, and her chirping really gets the idea of kobolds across.

What can I say I took Lily on as an initiate and she is fast approaching my record of arrests. She has placed me in uncomfortable situations, cost me a bit of gold and in general been the best initiate I've ever had.

Circe gives me just about as much grief as Lily does but she's quite, observant, and most of the time I think people forget she's there .... she's also given me food for thought and is gonna push me into doing very bad things.

Gurky Bogglewig - Because all clerics need to beat the ground with their fists!

Rhissaerk really scared and entertained me a lot this month. He was a veritable presence during the Drotid invasion.

Evelynn continues to be the perfect example of a studious, thoughtful scholar with a tantalizing depth that she doesn't often reveal.

Zander and Eow: Two of Avlis' fresh faces that keep me hooked in the game! Keep up the addition making!

Fletcher never fails at awesome.

Keller does a great job of showing his devotion to Mikon. Always in character and always fun. Great New PC.

I voted Nawen, because as the player's signature says, she is tough as nails, but has a softer side to her friends. Nawen is an excellent character RP with and is always rich of RP.

I voted Ash, because, well, she's funny, loving, tickling, caring, and most of she has that sexy factor that a lot of pcs try to pull off by trying so hard, yet Ash seems to do it without even noticing.

Sam Badoc is a wonderful new character, the way he's managed to get in way over his head is wonderful to watch, not to mention his epic massive report on Elysia that only a few people will be able to see.

Rode Benneseph continues to be one of my favorite characters, and although the player doesn't bring her out as much anymore, it's still a treat to see her.

BATMAN's (aka. Dasher) desperation and work in getting the Dirks back together has been cool to watch.

Jack Barton. A real hidden gem of a character, he sticks to his roots in Mikona so much of the player base these days doesn't see him, but he truly deserves to recieve RPotM someday.

Sign, coves. Rum month of capers and a great stalling. Bunch of sharks if I ever lamped. Obrig, Dervish, Pipes, Scrach, Shrike, Ragnor, and night. Rum weeds, gentlemen.

Circe, Circe, Circe... what can I say about Circe? Not much. Which is why the character is so awesome. She's everywhere and nowhere at once, and could only have sprung from her player's keen intellect and attention to detail. A masterful character that I always look forward to interacting with.

Micah's journey has always been one of note, and her newest path is wrought with constant peril of a different kind. Everything about it seems wrong, but once you delve into it, everything makes sense. Anger and deathdealing can be righteous, and seeing Micah learning how continues to be a singular joy.

I've just observed this character, but I find Anders quite interesting and entertaining in his own way.

Nawens just a kick ass gal i really feel sorry for the lizards after taking her shop

Shih Lung for being a crazy self-loathing [FOIG]. I'm not sure how much of that was intentional, but it was memorable fun for me.

Rollek continues to be one of the best played characters around. Always have a good time with that guy!

Nawens like a big sister always willing to defend you and there when you need a hug, I know we can’t vote for Cassandra, which is a shame. Her RP during the Elysia invasion was truly stellar & gripping.

...wow.
Thats awesome.
It's actually pretty funny how often people ask Sam if he has a death wish.
Also have to second Rhissaerk the heart stealer idea, and that Jack Barton needs more exposure.

Hooray to both! :prost:

I didn't vote for pinky, believe it or not... you know why? I wanted one of my votes to count towards second place.

Rhissaerk is in the driver's seat of Avlis right now. Nothing else to say. I'm still at a loss how such a nice guy can so accurately portray an evil bastard.

Haven't had the pleasure of meeting Sam yet, but I'm going to try to for sure!

Anyone who has read Sam's essays on our guild board can attest to the attention he pays to what he does.

And yeah, Rhissaerk, you know exactly what I think about you. :D

No big surprises here. Except Rhissaerk, who is big. And so is his halberd. Also, Sam is big in M'Chek. :P

When Rhiss gives back Elysia he can have his XP cookie :glaskugel:

Only kidding. Many congrats to both. Don't think I have met Sam yet, so it seems I have a treat ahead of me

Tons of great characters this month. Sam the naive gnome got one of my votes; glad to see him up there, although it is perhaps possible that the new character Fat Pat is even more amusing.

My other vote this month went to Jack Barton, as it has for the past six months! Maybe Jack needs to hit up Elysia some more to gather more votes.
