Free Giveaway Tonight [8/8/2003]: Planetside [$50 value]

Post by Silk » Wed Jul 30, 2003 3:28 pm

We were able to score some free stuff at GenCon and decided it would be cool to give it away to some of you guys. So right now, we're going to give away a Full Version of the Massively Multiplayer Game, Planetside. It has a List price of $50, so it's actually a pretty decent free-bee.

We're going to give this away to a random Member of the Fan Fiction Site. The random drawing will happen on Friday, August 8th in the evening. All members of the fanfic site are eligable the moment we are drawing the random winner.

We'll be doing this kind of thing regularly to specifically show our appreciation to everyone that supports us via the FanFic site.

To join the Fan Fiction site, go here: fanfic.avlis.org

Thanks guys.

Has anyone else played planetside at all?
Can anyone tell us their experiences with it?

I played PS during its beta....
it was... like EQ, a LOT of fun, very interesting, very cool concept, some really neat stuff....
but poorly implemented with major bugs, major lag issues, and major gameplay issues. I played right up until the point that the beta ended and I would not have bought the game then, there were way too many issues that hadn't been addressed.
Its definitely fun to try out (and I believe you get a month free with a normal purchase?) and while I wasn't paying for it I enjoyed it, but unless they've cleaned it up a lot I wouldn't pay to play it.

I haven't played it, but from the reviews I've read (http://www.gamerankings.com) , for the most part, its a good game, but it has killer lag and framerate issues. Other than that, its supposed to be fun enough to justify the fee.

Was in the Beta... it really is a lot of fun. Personally, I wouldn't pay a monthly fee for it, but you can't beat getting the game for free and getting your frist month free... that's good fun to be had.

Tomorrow's the day for the free giveaway.
Joining the fanfic site cost $5, and you get a chance to win a $50 game. Not only that, we have other cool giveaways to give.

I'll probably do 1 giveaway every 2 weeks.

Well, today is the day. I'll be randomly picking a fanfic member tonight.

There's still time to join the fanfic site and get your name in the drawing.

So, who was the lucky one anyhow?
