Awesome work! :prost:

The Staircase is going away? Nooooooooooooooooooooooo :( I loved mapping that thing out! So many stopovers for dungeons etc along the way too...

Now, who wants to take me traveling?
The last time I did... Owen, Morran, and Grace somehow ended up in a fancy pajamas/underwear shop in a Drow city...

...I don't recall buying anything there though... X:|

(it was a fun trip!)

I <3 the Staircase... :(
Sure, now you can visit Sigil, but getting lost on the Staircase was one of my travelling monk's personal favourites...

The dungeons and stopovers are not going away. Some of the biggest complaints we have gotten come from people who want to pay a visit but get hopelessly lost on the way to and from the portals, so we are in the process of replacing the maze-like main part of the staircase with ...something uniquely Ysgardian. You'll still be able to get lost exploring the areas (once they are completely finished, but the route to and from the Avlis/Arkaz portals will be more straightforward, more common sense, less time consuming and hopefully less frustrating for new visitors. The staircase itself may or may not stay as part of the module either as a DM area or as a dungeon in itself. It depends on whether we have continuing issues with the previously mentioned bug.

*Notes that logging in after needing to grab the latest haks puts you where the old portal was* The only thing worse than being lost in a new place is being lost in an old one that doesn't go where you thought it would!

Yup, nothing has changed. This might take a while... :P

I like the staircase too, it's a good friend when you've mastered it :) Still a good decision for new traffic though. Can't wait to travel the planes again!

Are any of the worlds AMS compatible? I find the idea of not randomly turning into a cow or killing a party member quite unfulfilling.

That's up for each world to implement. Most of them have some copy of the AMS code, iirc, but talk to the individual teams to find out their policies. Some may not implement it at all, some may ask you to earn it on their own world, some may give you your Avlis rank right away. It's really up to them.

By design AMS variables don't carry over at all. So it's up to any world that does have it(assuming they even do) to give it to you if they choose to at their own discretion.

That's not necessarily the case.

Content ownership and some of the content is Avlis specific.

They don't have the AMS code though unless something has recently changed.

Darkfire is correct.

AMS is strictly limited to Avlis.

Some of us have plans and are working on our own similar systems but will not be transferable between worlds either. Our AMS equivalent systems that we are working on will be similarly restricted to Ysgard/Hala. Any other details such as earning rank/being given a comparable rank to Avlis' for similar AMS type subclasses are still in the works and not currently up for public discussion.

Hmm.. is there even organised mages for an AMS on Hala?

There's a pretty big university full of mages, yeah.
