Feb. 2010 RPotM RESULTS!

Post by Belasco » Sun Mar 07, 2010 5:04 am

A huge YARRRR for our first place winner, Avlis's own very own pirate!

Shelly Maroon

And a massive round of applause for our THREE...count 'em THREE second place contenders!

Cassandra Aske
Selle Galleaf

and
Sher'cha

Without further ado, the comments:

Honorable Mention:
THE DEGLOS BRIGADE (I know I can't vote for a group but...)

GOOOOORRRRRR!

When it comes to roleplay that involves submitting oneself to the gross domestic fun of the entire community my hat is off to Fletcher Millstone and Shelly Maroon. Here we have two characters committed to concepts inclusive enough to the wider playerbase they are practically instant guilds of their own. Thank you both, I certainly appreciate it.

Jack Barton - Always manages to conjure up an image of the medieval equivalent of a greasy, friendly, blue collar truck driver type.

Bell Arren - The epitome of the helpful, thoughtful wizard.

Tomas is top notch.

I've met Captain Shelly Maroon on several various alter-egos and I've found him to be consistently solid each time I play with him. Always welcoming for any character, including any newbies or oldbies alike. Got a great back story that I've only begun to find out about! Can't wait to play with him more in the future!

Alice! One of the best RPed new kids on the block this year (so far) Really enjoying playing with her.

Will Bishop ever stop being so grumpy? I hope not!

Sher'cha, I mean that is a given...A warrior maiden with a can do attitude and child like at the same time. Who could get tired of that? Anyways, Sher is an amazing character to RP with, and no matter what is going on, she is always cheerful

Both these characters are just out and out awesome. Tori is one of the most consistent characters I've come across, and
Ang is easily the most colorful. Thanks to both of you for making my experience infinitely more enjoyable

Anomandari is amazing. Always in character and increasingly intense. Awesome.

Ashling is the coolest sexiest elf on the block.

Mal'bryn Mae'ana. Avlis hosts many wizards and many concepts to play them, but this is one outstanding PC. Analytic to the point where it hurts (mostly others), polite to the point where it's rude, convinced about his indispensability - and, what's worse, indispensabile.

Anders. The ghost of Underdark. Emerging in Verlog and quickly succumbing to the spell of the place, he's now a vital part of it himself. Streets and tunnels wouldn't be the same without this crazed Violet mage.

Shelly is the sort of shady fellow who manages to include everyone.

Vesdrac Noss'tau - Break a leg, darling.

Vintrinia Carnen - Always, always, always.

We need more elves to be all superior and snotty. Karna does it.

Cassandra is just awesome, always so calm and almost emotionless. And then outa no where there's a giggle, or a little hint of something special that just has me grinnin' like an idiot, plus she has a clone.

Will - wow, talk about standing up for your right to an opinion! This girl did it toe to toe with a senior mage and then proceeded to tell said mage to 'go forth and multiply' as well giving the mage a free face bath!

Agatha:Feisty character, gets my vote...

Keekee is easily one of the best played Kobolds I've seen, a lady too. With a biting issue, skittish and a bit of a raging temper - love it.

An outstanding month for Yenefer, who never fails to impress.

Kandi dropped a bomb on my PC. Totally unexpected; and totally threw my PC into a loop and then a slow spin into a crash. However; unknown to us, even more was to come.

I wanted to vote Miriel RP of the Decade after a recent session with her. Miriel not only made my character totaly uncomfortable by just a simple emote; but Miriel also exploded her world around her.

Cassandra Anke is .. well.. just wow!

Raine, Raine, Raine! A stellar, consistent character who you will believe is real.

Kassha is clever as all hells, and much more fun. There is never a dull moment.

Karna "I abjure thee!" yeriath. Voted for him last month, voting again this month. Exceptionally well player character. No gimmick, no attention hogging, just a character that I really can believe in. If you haven't played with Karna, you're missing out on Avlis.

Alden Stonefoot, the other Abjurer in my vote this time around. Fat dwarven model, but definitely not the fat dwarven stereotype. Really puts the L back in the LN alignment. Keep up the good work for next month!

Fletcher: merchant king, mayor, AND master scout? You betcha!

Thienna - if some one will tell me it's not very complex character I will break thier nose!

"Kate" for portraying a character with interests beyond dungeon bashing. Someone to do pretty much "useless" stuff and still have fun. Elena (my character) still think she's a bit crazy, but that is probably just an effect of too much ice-magic. How she managed to talk Elena into cat-suit lumberjacking is maybe the best description of this crazy-useless stuff. (that was an all nighter)

Silver Fox: Combines 'disarming' and 'bloodthirsty' in a wonderful way.

Alice: A new character, but one who is beginning to make her mark on Avlis. A thoughtful concept, and well executed.

Tomas is superb. A cleric without equal in his Glory, and in his unexhaustible capacity for withering put-downs.

Miriel is IMO one of the best. Cold and calculating, or Hot and seductive, she can do it all, and well.

Boris, Half ogre with a dark heart and yet never gives up and never gives in. JUST awesome guy to rp with.

Pantera and Sher'cha are but two of the many Warrior Maidens who display consistently excellent RP whenever I step into Elysia. They are truly a credit to Avlis.

Aggie always rocks my world but the image of her running around the Brigade HQ nekkid after too much drink during the

Lefty Test will go with me to the grave!

Plus now the whole of Avlis knows about it too...

Moriand was a breath of fresh RP air

Zven: Not your average Gnomish mage.

Selle is truly a dynamic character. She leaves you wondering what she's really thinking and what she's actually going to do.

Dillon for successfully being the woman's man, and hero. Maybe it's not so much from actual interaction with him in person for my part. Buts ince everyone know how and what he is, a lot of RP is done discussing him, and whether he is interested in somebody or not.

Sher'cha just plain REWLS as a bard and a Warrior Maiden. She's the epitome of a friend, an entertainer, a loremaster, a warrior, a woman that's both sensitive and tough. And she has such a rich, diverse personality. She's one of those characters that you're always excited to see logged in.

Arania's come back to Avlis en force. She's vivid and alive, active and involved. Glad you're back Raney!

Yenefer :Excellent roleplay, I will miss princess Fiona though.

Nara'lyn- If you've not met her you ~are~ missing something! Makes me LOL for real every time.

Selle- A deep character with loads of background and reasons. Always fun to RP with.

Frapp and Aiko, because they both rock.

Silver is a goddess in the realm of RP.

Pantera's just a buncha golly gosh gee bob RP scrumptiousness. I eat it up every time!

Koryanna's multi-faceted story keeps having new moments of brilliance. Being able to share bit of it is one of my favorite parts of Avlis.

Miriel always has a keen eye to what is happening around her, and draws in other characters flawlessly.

Yes, neighbor, Cassandra's character has started to grow on me. Like a bad rash. A bad rash that does divination. The rash knows all.

Movrin and Keekee : the two up and coming kobolds

Arania 'Raney' Moonshadow is always a treat to play with.

La'Varian has a three-dimensionality you wish more players could bring to the table. The depth he brings to his emotional responses to stressful situations can make you challenge your own perceptions -- and question your own excuses for your behavior. He's a stellar roleplayer.

Fergus is a complete and utter joy. Never out of character, always consistent, challenging and compelling. Even when it's tough he follows through and his handling of the dichotomy of his character's young/oldness has made my character's journey a totally enjoyable and unpredictable one.

Sun and Dillon Wylde, for stroking my character's already over inflated ego (and always making me wish I could hang around longer).

OK I can only choose one of Blizzow's characters, so I'm choosing Snarl. Even though Freddy is just as f'ing awesome. See, this is the problem with RPOTM! If someone plays 2 awesome characters, their votes get split. I can't vote Snarfreddyl, so...Snarl. *Thumps chest*

Captain Shelly is a great force for roleplay bringing people together for insanely fun adventures. Basto completes a puzzle. In a world of heroes and villains he has the mantle of 'that other guy'. Words fail in really describing what great roleplay I had this month and narrowing it down to two people really doesn't do justice.
Arrrh, Shelly is the man! Three cheers for a character who gets everybody involved and who keeps them feeling like they're part of his seafaring world. Can't say enough.

Tomas Kelthran, also known as "TPK" for leading lowbies to certain death and "TO" for his prodigious use of Blade Barrier, Storm of Vengeance, and whatever else makes you wait 20+ rounds to move on. I heard he likes flaming wemic balls, too. What's not to love about that?

Syten is one of the funniest characters around and adds an weird but fun element to the game

Keekee, the head-bobbingist, tail-swishingest, most skittish li'l kobold ever. Always a joy to run into.

I've really enjoyed the few times I've gotten to see Demue LeBlue in action. He's a laugh riot, yet keeps his head on straight despite (because?) of the lunacy around him and in his past. My favorite new character!

Aeveras - Skinny little elf, who has so much spirit that he could share with half of avlis. Seriouse and full of fun, rp with him is great pleasure.

Aiko and Frapp : The cutest couple ever + they totally enable my mischief:P

Karna makes the lonesome path of abjuring more fun and less like feeling like the odd one out. Now WE'RE the odd ones out!

My favourite sailor, although all my PC's are terribly land-based he's still a hoot when on shoreleave.

Raney is always fun to interact with! Takes time to listen.

Hebrin still cracks me up after all this time

Thanks folks. And thankyou to everyone who adds comments to their votes - it's always great to hear your thoughts on the PCs that you vote for. And even if they aren't one of the winners or runners up, seeing that another player has recognised them can really make someone's day.

I always adore reading the comments! Thank you SO much to everyone that gifted their viewpoint and treasures in the world we share :liebhab:

~Much~ deserved to Shelly, Cassandra and Selle! Amazing characters played by amazing players! I think Sher hasn't even meet Shelly, yet still 'knows' him as a world fixture, and that is a true example to RP and everyone's impact on Avlis. RP spreads like peanut butter, all gooey, yummy and to be savored. (and it goes well with sweet, spicy, tangy and other versatile flavors...and sticks to everything.)

and...thank you
