RPotM January 2010 Edition RESULTS!

Post by Belasco » Sun Feb 07, 2010 12:34 am

Coming in to 1st place with a remarkable show of diversity we have:

Fletcher Millstone
Rode Bennesph

and

Syten

Nipping at their heels and making shoving everyone else out of his way for 2nd place we have:

Basto

A huge round of applause for all of our winners who beat out close to 100 other PCs for the honor!

Remember, you now have choices in how to receive your reward XP and CONGRATULATIONS!

Comments:

Thorfinn defines awesome RP!

If I had a 3rd hand, it would be in the shape of a fist, and I would call it "Rode Benneseph". I would use it only for punching people.

Big F'ing "J" Kenthal. Hell yes.

Fletcher Millstone.. awesome guy.. will be even awesomer when we convert him... >.>

Kassha and Panties are the cutest couple ever, and her RP away from him has had me laughing my ass off more than once, the perfect mix of tough-as-nails warrior woman, devoted sister in faith and a girl who deep down just wants to be loved and can't believe her luck at finding someone who does... Pantera Macfadden, I salute you.

Rumour has it, Arania Moonshadow has returned with a storm which has ravaged many a manly heart. Beware!

Gerald Waters is not only great fun to play with, but he's a good sport and he's also a good babysitter.

Rode is a fascinating character, a character that's interesting and entertaining without being a "gimmick" character. She has an unrivaled depth to her and the I am repeatedly impressed by how fleshed out this character is. A very enjoyable character to spend time with.

Dent Davis is a hero, tried and true. He is great fun.

Basto is so hilarious that I want to meet his mom.

Surely it is time to kick all those grumpy midgets out of Galdos and rename it to Daldos. Surely.

There is never a dull moment (or a puerile gag overlooked) when Black Angus is around.

I was uncertain about Syten, while entertaining I had him pegged as a one hit wonder that would get stale after awhile. I couldn't have been farther from the truth. There is a method to his madness, and for those of us who are paying attention, we are treated to a fascinating, evolving character.

Rhissaerk is an RP force of nature. He is played very consistent ans stays true to his personality at all times, even at his own cost.

BBF, well, I guess Roaches are the new Bling

Styen…I cannot express how much I like your bow.

Gerald Waters- The simple way this character's kindness, wisdom and humility is arranged makes him unique. Intelligence shines through the concept of the otherwise commonplace Good-PC.

Tomas is the spiritual leader of Team Valok, both literally and figuratively. He's also distilled essence of Cleric.

Kaeleigh and Ashleigh are very well played characters, it has been a pleasure watching them grow in the world and I have fun each and every time I get to interact with them

Tomas Kelthran is out and out a cleric of Valok, even if his facial hair is substantially less glorious than other Valokians'.

This one thinks that Haji is rather unique among avlissians, partly because he's a fire genasi.

Patrick is just absolutely refreshing, he makes me laugh much too much IG & reading his journal.

Glendur is pretty awesome to RP with.

Ash is a fun loving cutie who's always a pleasure to chat with.

I will continue to vote for Silver Fox until she becomes ineligible for further votes, because she is awesome.

Etz is always entertaining, very cleverly played, and great fun.

Anyone who has played with the bartending, wisecracking, strangely comical Finn... has hopefully experienced the entire other side of the character: Thoughtful, meticulous, cunning, and drunk. I mean brave, yeah. Brave.

Vesdrac is delightful to play with, and yes I know how strange that sounds!

Poppy is a welcome addition to the Hin that haunt Ferrell.

Basto: Sebastian Swift is always there to make sure I didn't regret walking into that dungeon or meeting those people!

Tomas Kelthran: So smug and loathesome it borders on enjoyable

Anders is a very unique character - stick around him enough and the accent doesn't bother you anymore.

Pantera is a lovely, authentic character who just makes me feel all squishy inside.

Jack Kenthel, a man who never looses his cool...or his hat.

Father Kurt Villainova of Maleki is like Father Christmas, only he has the body of Clive Owen, the wit of the dickens himself and the warm disposition of the driver of a caravan labelled "FREE CANDY".

I love playing with Karna, few characters are so consistently well played as him. Thanks for a great month!

Sebastian "Basto" Swift, handyman. Always fun to log on when you see this character in the list.

Ashling is, has and always will be pretty damn awesome. Her character is like a mirror image of Tal - who..is..also..awesome..

Bradnil is a great merc/rogue. Lots of attitude, afraid of no-one but funny as hell. Great new character.

Wylde is on fire this month. I call it: Wyldefire. Watch out, Vin.

Fletcher must win for his supreme awesome at the trade faire. Perfectly IC for the entire time.

Amleth gets my second vote for the single most ballsy scam I've ever seen on Avlis. OMG! I'll get you...

Shelly Maroon puts the R and P in RP. I suspect he may be a real-life pirate.

Rhiasserk not only for letting me puke on his Lizardy-feet. But a well played character, with multiple tiers of personality and not just a "Character Concept"

Selle shines in a variety of setting, events and company! Her flexible, bright and witty RP always brings a smile to my face.

Rosemary continues to ably portray a young woman trying to maintain her composure and sense of identity in a war torn world.

Cassandra alternates between "mysterious" and "engaging", but makes it all fit in character. She also tosses in a bit of psychic for good measure (and let's face it: who doesn't want their fortune told or their palm read?). If you haven't talked to her IC, find a reason to do so.

Kassha's keeps the RP exciting with twists and turns all along the way. Awesome job.

Kudos to Paco this month for his many exploits in and around Mikona.

Anders is consistently an entertaining character: witty, incredibly amusing, and the depth. Wow. Awesome character all around.

I'd have voted for Uuc as the other selection, but competition was something fierce so Uuc will have to settle for an Honorable mention.

Kaz'Shardra Aske. Such an awesome character and a joy to be around. Lots of character depth. I'm sure hours and hours of philisophical debates and theorizing will be coming soon and I can't wait for it.

Terra's RP continues to amaze me with it's elegant simplicity tied to a complex character. bravo!

Arania blows my mind. There are few characters as deep, complex and consistently roleplayed on Avlis.

Had some good fun with Bud.. I like the way he's very unlawfull..

Raney is very honest and a swell gall to have around.. bright as well as witty..

Jalya is solely responsible for one of the coolest player-organized RP events I've ever seen. Creative and fun and always a blast to be around.

Thror and Fergus. My brief 'meeting' with them was one of my best on Avlis. White wizard and Arch-Paladin to Blackguard and ...humble priest. Was it just me of would we have needed a chainsaw to cut through the tension in the air? Kudos to the good guys!

Neeb - a goblin with style. Give him a sandwich.

Syten - in my opinion, THE standard to meet in a Forianite

Fletcher Millstone - just a well-played, well-thought character - not over-the-top, but someone you could believe is real (for a fantasy world, anyway)

I think it goes without saying that any character is swiftly thick with choices of who has most deeply contributed to their successes on avlis. My latest character is no different and it is, to be certain, more than merely two people. Personally my character and by extension my fun this month owes a debt beyond payment to Losin Rockhands and Sonja Pyre. The guidance, wisdom, generosity and example of these two characters is monumental.

Sand is smooth. And he has his own day.

Snarl-What can I say, dirtball is a cuddly little Verossan that is just amusing to hang out with ... plus he tastes awful.

Rode Bennesph both cracks me up and challenges my role playing. I always hear the disclaimer guy whispering in my ear when ever she starts lecturing.

Sher'cha is awesome, just awesome. She's so vividly portrayed. And she spends a huge amount of time chronicalling things in the colorful way only Sher can do.

Unen Yana plays a unique monk. Guided by an ethic and ideals certainly, but in an easy going and social way with a wonderful and wacky sense of humor. I just love him to death.

Vesdrac, I just love the guy's attitude and I can almost hear him screaming "Why the hell do these idiots keep attacking me?!?!?!" I think i've racked up 4 Vesdrac related deaths now and i've enjoyed each and every one.

Jalya Ak'hanrye is an awesome player.

Neeb makes me laugh every time I see him, and the Alpha Roach is dirty, underhanded, and all around Verlogish (?)

The reason for Syten is that he is very random and RPing with him is a great challenge- one needs to hone their skills to catch up, EXCELLENT SHOW.

Andrew Fears for the excellent characterization.

I have found Kasandra to be an extremely interesting PC. One willing to go places with my PC that others will not.

I think they invented adult diapers for playing Avlis when Kedar's around. I'm still haunted by "Orc hole."

Dent "Double D" Davis is a cool customer, even-handed and never off key. Kudos to that guy. And he likes spears!

Syten plays a Forian the way Forian would play a Forian!

Thror Stormhammer is one of only a couple grumpy ass Dwarves that I enjoy being around. He did a pretty good job of getting the dust off. He must have used Scrubbin' Bubbles.

Kaz'sharda or Cassandra is a welcome new diviner to the multitude already around, it is great to see a new perspective on this specialty.

Lav is developing into sideline pimp nicely

Rarely am I surprised and awed by an RP concept, yet something so simple as patrolling to keep the road safe has made Gerald Waters one of the most symbolic, interesting and wonderful characters I've had the joy of RPing with. Light the way, Gerald. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed.

I was calculating the data to improve my statistical reasoning and here's some interesting info: +- 4% error

54 different characters were commented on
35 people got 1 vote
19 people got more than 1 vote
82 (+1) Total Comments
47 out of 82 comments pertained to 19 characters

Important: The data is off because I couldn't figure out who one of the comments is voting for. Also several votes are without comments or not presented.

According to comments only: Syten received the most, followed by a six way tie for the next most comments. That means quite a few people voted but with no comment, try to comment next month!

I'll say it again, looking at the names in the comments, any one of them could have won and I'd be content. The folks who won did something to deserve it, and do. Congrats y'all! :prost:

Avlis is at an all time high for quality RPs. I can't wait to see what the next month has in store! So much awesome, probably.

Congratulations to everyone else as well, and don't forget to vote again next month! More comments with the votes too! Some of them make me laugh.
