Update for static races

Post by Sapperken » Sun Jan 04, 2009 4:47 am

We have news for static races! If you're tired of looking like everyone else, good times are here. We're offering your static model a variety of appearance choices to choose from. All you have to do is scroll down to the race you want, pick out a model, beg a dm in game or send a request to the Team, and we'll get you and your new appearance together. Hope you enjoy the new look!

Note: All models are still static. Dynamic looks for some races are still in the works.

Excellent!

But a couple of questions:
1. If we pick a model now, does that interfere with the ultimate dynamic race (hopefully) soon to be implemented?

2. If and when the dynamic race is implemented, will the character keep the model we choose, or does it revert to the original static model?

Thanks!
Cheers,

1. No.

2. It will use a different model that would be dynamic.

I've seen a couple of characters with their new look - they're great. I still can't decide if my centaur would like a pony tail though . I think I need to have a closer look at those hairstyles before deciding.

A quick thanks to all the team for implementing this. And a special thanks to Rhiss for changing the model on my shaahesk PC. This worked perfectly!

How does this work, is it available in the start tent or does a DM have to manually change your look?

I presently don't play any of these races but still thanks to all of your work making this game ever new and refreshing for all of us players.

Please could I have my Gnoll Ranger changed to the second form, i.e. the 'Gnoll Wizard' form without the armour? As she is a Ranger it makes no sense IC for her to be wearing so much heavy metal plate.

Hey, I didn't know it was that easy (I asked a certain DM and he was very reluctant to wrestle with my centaur  ).

I would love:

Many thanks from me too ... Xenith's torso is now bulkier and looks more like I imagined him (and I've been playing him since 2005). I thought the model I chose just had untidy hair but actually it's horns - exciting.

It's easiest to poke a DM when you see one in game or when you see one of us in IRC. If you see Andrinor around, I'd be happy to help.

Enjoy!

Unless I misunderstood, which it'd be cool if I did, those are still static orcs (same appearance regardless of items equipped, etc.), just with lots more appearances available to choose from
