2009 Hak release

Post by MadK@ » Tue Oct 13, 2009 2:33 am

It has taken me a very long time but the copap hak revision is finally complete and ready for download.

The new set of CoPaP haks replaces all CEP haks, universalhak_5_0.hak and copaphak5_0.hak with the following:

There is a new tlk available And the next release of: Methods to Download
Manual download
Nighthawk4 File Mirror

New to Avlis? Take advantage of the Avlis needed files installer. (nb: This is not recommended for existing users)
Avlis Installer

These new haks/tlk are live

I just want to highlight for the newer players and people thinking of joining... when it's live, this removes the CEP requirement altogether. Feel free to dump any versions you don't use for other worlds.

NOT YET! When it goes live!

We'll still need copaphak_5_0 on the list above the new copap ones, right?

Well done MadK@ !!

Hey, someone edited the Needed Files page on the wiki and removed everything except those MadK@ listed above. Those new haks only replace the CEP haks, not ALL of the server specific haks too.

Please undo some of that change to the wiki.

If I understood MK's post correctly these new files replace the CEP stuff, plus the Avlis Main and the TLK files - not the rest of the HAKs. Please do not delete those. Indeed do not delete anything yet as these are not yet live.

Whoever edited the Needed Files section of the Wiki, could you please put the other files back in the list? :?

Incidentally, the new files are now on my Mirror, although I haven't had time to add entries for them onto the Wiki yet. I will get to that tomorrow evening, unless some kind soul would like to do that for me please? They are in the same folder as the other files, with the names as on the other sources.

Yep! Go ahead and download and install them, it won't mess anything up...they'll just sit there like fresh little apple-cheeked hak files full of goodness waiting for when they're needed. Really!

It doesn't have and I believe that was intentional on MadKat's part.

In fact, Avlis has been tinkered with so much I think only the core mechanics and basic UI layout are still there.

(plus those annoying hard-coded bugs)
Permanently confused.

Re: 2009 Hak release

Post by MadK@ » Wed Oct 14, 2009 4:02 pm

Let me clarify to end the confusion.

copap installer is copap only required haks
Avlis will have it's own installer but it will be mostly for new players as it will contain ALL required files to play on Avlis servers.
It is pointless to do an installer for avlis_main1.8 as it is only one hak.

Avlis installer is not available yet because the new cfr_cg04_130_b.hak (patch) is not fully QA'd.

Hope that makes sense and sorry for the confusion caused.

I hate sifting through all the broken links that the wiki has (used to have?).

Right when I was gonna get back into playing too.
