Horribly Choppy even playing locally

Post by Googy » Mon Aug 24, 2009 1:12 pm

I am running windows 7 on an xw4300 workstation Real Tek AH audio Geforce 6600

I seem to be experiencing the same problem people talk about with vista and NWN on the NWN forums.

I have been unsuccessful in fixing the problem and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions.

I have tried toggling off dual processors, changing video and audio settings.

Thanks

Windows 7 is still in beta isn't it? Your hardware should be able to play it without any problem so I assume it is software related. Could be windows, or your drivers.

I am on the beta client but I do have the release canidate I can install.

I will play with drivers and see if I can get it to work. Did anyone on here have or had problems with vista?

No problem I have with Vista is when I 'alt-tab' to jump to the boards to double check something. Sometimes Vista decides that some of the other programs running should be on top of the game. Takes awhile to make it see it my way.

While experiencing a bizarre decrease in framerates, I discovered that if I went into NWN's advanced sound options and changed my sound from RAD Game Tools RSX 3D Audio to something like Dolby Surround the problem went away immediately. Try that and see if it works for you!

Not sure applies here to this problem but in Nivida drivers there is a configuration for single and multi displays. Its in the Nivida control panel under 3d options.

Does this happen in other games or just NWN?
