So where are they all?

Post by Nighthawk4 » Thu Jul 09, 2009 10:01 pm

Somewhere in the World there are lots of people who could become DMs on Avlis.

You might be able to help.

You might know where they are.

They might be YOU!!

Seriously, if you want the power and kudos and high salaries involved in being a DM, then you are looking in the wrong place. However, if you feel you could help other Players to have lots of fun, or if you could give up your own time to improve the experience of the others, then please apply now.

Send a PM to staff@avlis.org and you need never again wonder how you can spend your spare time.

The wages are low but the satisfaction is limitless. :prost:

I would so join, but my play time is very limited as of now. You all have no idea, how much I want to do the occassional random rather insignificant quest bit.

I've always wanted to wield the mighty wand but I'm afraid I'm probably too inexperienced. Since I've never actually even been in the client.

You don't need experience in the DM client to be hired on. So that's not an excuse. :)

i've thought about, asked for the application one time to take my time to fill it out, and see what I think about it, but i like playing. i mean, don't get me wrong, it would pretty freaking awesome to be a dm, and atm i have enough play time to be one, but july 17th and 18th are my registration for my college classes, then end of august i move in, and then i would be probably too swamped with work from classes to make time to even play. i could probably find maybe an hour or two to play, but i wouldn't want to spend those few hours i get dming or something. but you know what, maybe I will try the application out again, and see what happens :) you never know. oh, and i know this isn't the place for this, but if any computer geeks out there can give a bit of advice, i would like some, cause i'm majoring in computer sciences, and probably narrow it down to network security.

The client really isn't all that hard once you get your feet wet, and remap your keys so you don't *cough* pause the server.Over and over. And um, over. Not that I ever did that. That's my story and I'm a stickin' to it!

Seriously, go to the Vault and download Carlo One's DM 101 mod. It's a great short little mod that walks you through the basics in about half an hour or less.
DM'ing can be a lot of fun, just be sure you're pretty much done as a player on the server/world you're going to be a DM on."Seeing the strings" can take some of the fun out of playing a server for some folks ( but it can also make you appreciate a lot of other things).Plus some PWs have pretty strict rules about DMs playing in other DMs events/storylines.
