Cookies

Post by mermaiden » Sun Jan 11, 2009 6:18 pm

I just recieved a cookie. And I love them. I don't know whom it came from but.. Thank you. .

The reason I posted this is because I want to thank whom ever gave it but that might be corny?

Do you players ever say thanks? Or just take it as a modest complement. I take it and think of it as a good thing but I say nothing..

I hope I am not being rude.

I hoard cookies. One day I'll be able to buy Flenken with all of them.

I make an effort to always ping a "Thanks" in the DM channel. Events are different, but cookies for RP, etc, it's just good form.

As a player, I have and do usually send a quick thanks to the DM channel, and I don't expect a response.

As a DM, I am happy to receive but do not expect a quick thanks, and rarely respond (except with more pwnage!).

It is nice to receive a quick 'thanks' in the DM Channel, but by no means essential.

Also, nice as a Player to receive a cookie.

*tosses a few Cookies out*

So what kind do you like, Peanut Butter, or Surger Cookies?

Yeah, as a DM I like giving out cookies. Their is a lot of Great RP I see going one, (even the cyber stuff) so I toss a cookie or two out. The quick "Thanks," "Thankie," "TY," or my Fav "Nom nom nom, Love the cookie, Thanks," is always appreciated.

Are there "you're on and playing" cookies that get sent out server-wide? There's been a few times where I go AFK somewhere safe, sometimes for a long time before I get back to it, and I find I've been given a 50xp cookie.

Don't know. But I have at times started at the top of the player list, and gone down it giving cookies to everyone on the server. :)

I appreciate every little cookie tossed my way. It means I'm not screwing up too bad for a change. :P Seriously though, it is always nice getting cookies, and I don't say thanks as often as I should, so... Thanks!

And yes people at 40 can use more xp like everyone else. It is easy to burn through 20 or 30,000 in a week with crafting and artifacing.

This'll sound odd, but I'm never sure if I was really the target of the cookie. Often in or even near a group I can't help but wonder if I was just in range of the cookie, or if I actually was meant to have one. I'm not sure how all that works on the DM end of things, but I ALWAYS appreciate cookies.

I consider myself lucky when I get one...eh...just before I get self-conscious about why I got one! I try not to read into it too far, and sometimes even remember to toss a "TY" into the DM channel.

Cookies don't get handed out as AoE :) If you got one, it's because the DM specifically clicked on you.

I sometimes do this as a general warning to the server that I'm poking around the place stalking PCs. :-)

Sometimes I don't do the cookie part until later though...

Try checking the number of people on the server from outside the game, if the number is higher than the number of players in the playerlist (don't forget to include yourself) then you're gonna possibly be in trouble.
