NZST / New Zealand Standard Time / New Zealand / UTC + 12 hours
NZDT / New Zealand Daylight Time / New Zealand / UTC + 13 hours

get used to it, many seem to forget we exist

Or assume that NZ is part of Australia.

On another note, Brisbane is _always_ GMT+10

In these times of advanced technologics phones, computers, clocks, tellies etc. all over the house started beeping and buzzing at 3.00 local time. Some of them chose to jump back to 2.00 by themselves. Combine those kind of things with Hamlet's punctuality and you can't miss the timejump anymore!

I just set up Windows ten to show me an addition clock UTC Coordinated Universal time which I believe is the same as GMT. I'm thinking that when my daylight savings time switches it should show the correct GMT/UTC.

Step 1 Right Click on your Clock/Time/ Date in the taskbar.
Step 2 Click on Adjust Date/Time near the top of the popup menu.
Step 3 Scroll down to "Add clocks for different Timezones" and mouse click it.
Step 4 Check the box to show the first additional clock
Step 5 Select timezone UTC coordinated universal time.

You have to hover over the clock time and date in the taskbar to see the additional time you added.

I found this information seems Windows uses Universal Time Standard, and GMT is a timezone. Maybe using UTC is a better way of figuring out when the events are happening.

So if this works out Windows should automatically switch my time to daylight savings time which we do use here, and since neither UTC or GMT does summer month's time adjustments it should have me all correct when I look at my clock to find out when the event is? I just checked the windows calendar and it, unfortunately, doesn't incorporate this addition clock into that when setting up a calendar reminder, which would be pretty useful.

I suppose it could be pretty helpful at getting used to the UTC time compared to your timezone.

Throwing a line here, you can compare your current location's time to anyone else's location. (The Avlis forums event calendar does not currently account for the hour, so we use this widget quite a lot).

When I clicked that it sent me to the Andriod app which looks like it would work pretty well since it has the date. It set up GMT time with my current timezone automatically, which was pretty nifty:).
