trade skills

I was just wandering how you guys deal with the trade skills system vs. lag/resource use. It seems that with a well diverse and ideal system the servers would get bogged down.

servers don't get that much lag from the tradeskills, as far as I've seen. Most of the problems from the tradeskills arise when the recipes break or the scripts malfunction, but none of that causes undue lag. Also, the tradeskills aren't humongous yet, so that takes out a bit of lag.

Also, unlike ATS, which stores the recipes in a script, which takes time to compile and run and find, etc., (big scripts= BIG lag), Avlis stores the recipes in an outside database, and can be accessed almost instantly via the NWNX2 application, with no lag to the system. Hence, lag is very manageble.

Hope this helped.
