questions for the masses

Post by sinn » Mon Jun 06, 2005 4:59 am

been have a bit of computer probelms of late I have :(

think I got the damn thing working again, and I only used a baseball bat 2 times :?

never the less I would really love to get to avlis again :x

(seems that all of avlis along with 90% of all the other servers look to be off line when I try to join via -mutil player, internet, direct connect)

questions....

1) do you have to have shadows of undrentide install ?

2) what version is currently running

All serial nimbers are in your NWN directory in the serialnumber file (i am at work and i cnat check the real name!) but it should be a wordpad or text file.

Hopefully you didnt erase all the nwn directory.....

Also if you registered the game at bioware... they ask to have your reg number on your account there..... you can retrieve it if you accepted.

You also need Hordes of the Underdark.

This is the right forum for this topic. It's a NWN question. :)

you might well have to do something with your firewall. I had to have a long conversation with mine to explain that yes Avlis was safe and no it wasn't going to trash my computer and send my inside leg measurement to some random server in the Ukraine. I didn't have to threaten it with the baseball bat but it was close

(PS if the firewall is playing up, direct connect normally works. I couldn't get onto Gamespy but could connect directly)

Whould be nice if you defined the problem more detailed.

1) Does NWN load?

2) do all upgrades show in the single player mode?

3) Do you connect to the gamespy in the multiplayer mode?

4) Do the avlis servers show on the gamespy?

5) if (4)=1 then do you get any error messages when you connect to the Avlis server of your choice?

That might get you more help....

Sorry I had to bail for bed in the middle of one of your crashes. We'll go smite stuff soon. Fix it!

have have given up.. I am now starting a fund to purchase a new computer I am tired of this old crap machine... the bubble gum cant hold the drive doors shut anymore, the tin fold is blacked where the video card has worked a bit too hard... and the damn hamster in the wheel that keeps the CPU fan working is getting so old that he asked for mini depends the other day...

I would like to hear any ideas on the most fun way to torture your computer to death... this baby has had it coming...

((might be in game on and off, but I cant commit till I buy a new pc))
