Is Avlis down or is it just me ?

Post by godloth2 » Wed Mar 16, 2005 12:51 am

Please help ..

I get the same message as if the Alvis servers were down.

I tried the direct connect method thru the NWN client with join lan game and then connect and it still does not work !

IS it just me ?

Thanks

Server Not responding (connection failed)

That's the same message as if the servers were down .. i've tried Deglos and Mikona, same error.

I've even tried with the IP address instead of the name avlis.blackdagger.net:5121 or 5125 for Deglos

Nothing always the same message.

I'll try later i think ;(

Check your port forwarding on your firewall - if you've messed with it, that is. That could be your problem.

Errm  Why did you post this under ask the team?

Moved to NWN General.

Thought about Avlis General, but this sounds like it's less Avlis specific, and more user specific. ;) I can't really suggest anything more than has been suggested.

Might want to check firewall settings.
Might also try the direct IP.

Try opening a command prompt (Start -> Run -> Type "CMD" and hit Enter).

Now, type
ping avlis.blackdagger.net

And hit enter.

Let me know what the results are.

For anyone else who has a similar problem...I PMed this to godloth2 when he asked for more help:
When typing in the direct connect address, make sure you type in the port after it. So, xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:yyyy where yyy is the port number. Then type in the password and click connect. If that isn't working, try another server, and if that doesn't work...I'd post a request in NWN general discussion because it's probably your computer or internet connection.

Hope that helps,
Doug
