... Well that's true... Tell me, have you seen Devdas? Now that is one sad movie. I'd have cried at the end if I hadn't fallen asleep before it was over, woken up an hour later, and rewound to see the finale. Speaking of, can you use the word 'rewound' to refer to DVDs? What would be the proper terminology?

There was a time when men were kind
When their voices were soft
And their words inviting
There was a time when love was blind
And the world was a song
And the song was exciting
There was a time
Then it all went wrong
I dreamed a dream in time gone by
When hope was high
And life worth living
I dreamed that love would never die
I dreamed that God would be forgiving
Then I was young and unafraid
And dreams were made and used and wasted
There was no ransom to be paid
No song unsung, no wine untasted
But the tigers come at night
With their voices soft as thunder
As they tear your hope apart
And they turn your dream to shame
He slept a summer by my side
He filled my days with endless wonder
He took my childhood in his stride
But he was gone when autumn came
And still I dream he'll come to me
That we will live the years together
But there are dreams that cannot be
And there are storms we cannot weather
I had a dream my life would be
So different from this hell I'm living
So different now from what it seemed
Now life has killed the dream I dreamed...
so sad... so good...

EPONINE
Don't you fret, M'sieur Marius
I don't feel any pain
A little fall of rain
Can hardly hurt me now
You're here, that's all I need to know
And you will keep me safe
And you will keep me close
And rain will make the flowers grow.
MARIUS
But you will live, 'Ponine - dear God above,
If I could heal your wounds with words of love.
EPONINE
Just hold me now, and let it be.
Shelter me, comfort me
MARIUS
You would live a hundred years
If I could show you how
I won't desert you now...
EPONINE
The rain can't hurt me now
This rain will wash away what's past
And you will keep me safe
And you will keep me close
I'll sleep in your embrace at last.
The rain that brings you here
Is Heaven-blessed!
The skies begin to clear
And I'm at rest
A breath away from where you are
I've come home from so far
So don't you fret, M'sieur Marius
I don't feel any pain
A little fall of rain
Can hardly hurt me now
That's all I need to know
And you will keep me safe
And you will keep me close
MARIUS(in counterpoint)
Hush-a-bye, dear Eponine,
You won't feel any pain
A little fall of rain
Can hardly hurt you now
I'm here
I will stay with you
Till you are sleeping
EPONINE
And rain...
MARIUS
And rain...
EPONINE
Will make the flowers...
MARIUS
Will make the flowers... grow...
The remake from 2002 was very well done, and features Aishwariya Rhai, the woman that several notable celebrity critics and what-have-you all agree is the most beautiful woman in the world.Marleh wrote:http://www.upperstall.com/films/devdas.html

I don't agree on the most beautiful woman thing, but yeah... she's damn hot.
Original is still better, though... mainly for the acting, I'd say. The remake is a bit melodramatic.

I sure wouldn't vote against her... at that 'flawless' level, it's all a matter of personal preference. Hmm maybe I will have to check this 'Devdas' out, sounds interesting

This thread is becoming extremely random.
Around the time that Kuras was launching, I was making 20-30 posts a day over a period of about 2 weeks.so.... in order to keep this thread going *cough* how many posts is the most you made in a day? I remember once making 50 posts on one forum in a day... I was ready to puke after that.

I'm tired of all this nonsense about beauty being only skin-deep. That's deep enough. What do you want, an adorable pancreas?
