~~BUILDING A HOUSE! Need advice~~
Alright, right now I only have one real big question, but over the next few days im sure ill come up with more, so freinds, mates, pals, please help me out. The one for whom I am building this house is a good person, and she deserves coolness. So here goes.
HOW THE HECK DO I GET RID OF THE AUTOMATIC PLACABLES!
To clarify, you know when you create a City Interior area and select the "livingroom" brush, and when you click in your area you get a patch of livingroom with a table or a prayer bench or a bookshelf... well I want to get rid of all of these items and just have an empty room with empty floor so I can place and paste only the things that are wanted. Does anyone know how to do this? My freind has very specific needs to what is to be placed in the house and these auto placables are just not jiving with that.
All help is appreciated!

Step 1: do not post in odd colours, i cannot read that without highlighting it. not everyone uses the same board theme.
As for your question, you can't. you have to make do with what you have. One way though is to paint the same tile a number of times, this will cycle through the different furnishing options if there are any.

Since this is NWN general discussion and thus not per se an Avlis related subject, allow me to split the answer:
If it's not for Avlis: there's some haks around that have the bioware tilesets without static placeables. Some of them have walkmesh issues, but on the whole they're pretty sweet.
If it's for Avlis: See the above answers.

Sometimes you can use the autoplacings, or cover them up. I made a house last few days, and i incorperated the table, placed a useble bookace over an autoplaced. And by disinging your coridors in a certain way you can also get nice solutions. If your interested i can send you this house, so you can see how i solved it

I was also going to suggest that you try placing corridors connecting and next to each other. You can make large rooms with no furniture that way. However, you may end up with collumns (sp.) and arches all over the place. That might be as annoying.
The only other suggestion is to try to work around what the toolset places in the way of furniture. Incorporate it into your design, or cover it up with a placeable object.
Good Luck.

Creative use of where you place doorways can make quite a large empty room in tilesets like the city interior.
Even if you don't want a door on a wall, make a doorway, plop a closed door in it and cover it up with another placeable and it will prevent the attatched room it makes by default showing up on the map
(though it's a cheezy solution, it does work).

static placables
Alright freinds, youve been a lot of help. Thanks for that. Too bad I cant use those haks Sindol is talking about, that would be perfect.
But the two tips, doorways and placing over static placables will work well I think.
Until the next fatally annoying problem, I bid you goodday.

coolness, chickens and comfortable couches
Sure Sus! your the best!
Oh and Will, yes your better half has informed me of a spare bedroom, for visitors to stay in, so I think your covered. Just be sure to ask beforehand and take your shoes off before walking on her carpet.
I am trying to figure out how to upload new placables onto the toolset so I can give you guys the "big couch" you wanted. Oh ya and I am also having trouble with uploading these carpet files i downloaded. I put the hak in the hak folder and the erf in the erf folder... shouldnt these carpets show up in the toolset? Is there another step I need to do to get them to show?
Oy.. once I get past this obstacle.. think of all the cool stuff you guys can have! I can download a bunch of neet placables and things! woo!

YAY!
OKAY! So, Will, Sus, good and bad news.
Good news: I have figured out how to load erf's and haks into a module and can add neet placables to my area's.
Bad news: In order to be able to see or even play in an area with these neet items and placables the haks and erf's have to be loaded and imported into it. (as modules may crash that dont have haks loaded correctly)
So, unfortunately, I wont be able to add all the cool things I was hoping to
Ill have to make due with the original CEP stuff.
So, Will, youll have to contect with one of them wooden, yellow cushioned four foot couches.
...
Will, if it gets rough mate, anya and I have a spare bedroom. Your welcome anytime, we'll have some drinks

There's s big couch in the CEP. Look closer. It's somewhere under civilisation interiors - furniture - couches and benches (iirc).Revan wrote: So, unfortunately, I wont be able to add all the cool things I was hoping toIll have to make due with the original CEP stuff.

Okay im confused again. I loaded all the CEP haks into the module im creating the house on, but its not creating any new items in the toolset. I thought when I downloaded the CEP's that they would add all these items into my folders... Do I have to find them on NWVault and import them myself?
Sus, sorry this is so much trouble. But ill finish it, trust in me!

are you looking in both the standard and custom palettes?
the togal to switch between them is just below the icons and above the list in the right hand pane.

Yes, ive looked on both palettes. Yes, and I also have all those copap, avlis and CEP haks and tlk's.
I did find a clivilization dropdown, but it was called just "civilization" and not "civilization interiors" and was under the sounds menu not the placables menu; obviously thats not the right one.
Any thoughts?
