Ferrell / LeOr running 1.65
Moderator: Event DM
Don't know if this is a bug but I know it didn't happen to me in 1.64 so....
My char wields dual rapiers, which I place in a quickslot. Used to, I would place them in a magic bag and carry them around to reduce weight. When I'd click on the quickslot it would bring them out of the bag and into my hands.
Currently, if I leave them outside of the magic bag and place them in the quickslot they do fine. But if I quickslot them and place them inside the bag, the next time I log in the quickslot is replaced with a gem pouch I also carry around with me (from either Rockhome or Hala -- can't remember where the char who gave it to me said it came from.)
I tested this. Placed them on my person, save loc, log out. The quickslot was fine. Then placed them in the bag, save loc, log out. Quickslot was replaced. As I said, not sure this is a bug but it's something that's never happened before.

If you're a low str character and the stuff you use is heavy, you're pretty much force toMistcaller wrote:Seems to be a new feature, and I must admit a good one. Makes sense not to be able to quickslot things while they are in a bag, doesnt it?

*grumbles and redistributes quickslots yet again* (fortunately most are alreadytaken up by spells, so it's not too much of a biggie)

Actually, that used to happen with old versions too. At least when I tried it about a year or more ago. Sometimes it would work, but sometimes you'd end up with a different item in the quick-slot.
I'd say that this is not a new bug, just one that you haven't noticed before, or its been made worse by recent changes.

So....
is this going to be for EVERYTHING you quickslot......rods, wands, and other things like horns of blasting? That could get heavy in a real hurry.

this happened occasionally in 1.64 so not a new bug. This was exacerbated by moving other junk around before logging and having previously been quickslotted.
I would suggest requickslotting every log. Price you pay for having weapons in hard to reach places I suppose.

I think this is old as well.
Upon logging in I will often, but not always have the quickslot my armor is in changed to be a quickslot for the bag the armor was in. And I have always seen my shield removed from the quickslot my sword and shield are in. Come to think of it, my other character who duel weilds a hand axe and a dagger will always have the dagger removed from the quickslot upon log in as well.
All of this happens only if I log out with that stuff in a bag. It never really bothered me too much and I never thought to report it as a bug.

Happens to me all the time. All my weapons are in magic bags, as well as all items in my quickslots now that I think of it. My two rapiers are on the same quickslot and after each transition, only the first rapier I put in the slot stays there. When I log in, the rapiers are replaced with something else.
I used to have two cold maces that I'd put in the same slot and it did that as well. Only one of the two maces was left in the slot.
However, all of my other items in the slots are fine. I think it only happens when you have two items in the same slot. I.e., my bow stays there and works fine, as well as my quarterstaff, whether they are in bags when I transition/log in or not. The clothes work fine too... I noticed though that the number of kits and potions left in the stack I have in the quickslots tend to get mixed up. Say I have 8 kits left in one slot... after transitioning, the number changes to 10 or anything else.

To be precise, this only happens when you put either both weapons or your offhand weapon/shield in a bag. If you store in a bag just your primary weapon you'll be fine.
I have several combinations of weapon & shield quickslotted. The weapons are stored in a bag but the shield isn't, so the quickslots stay just fine.

When I first logged on to Ferrell after 1.65 .. I got a PC Hide item ... which shows up as (yes) an animal hide. Cool. Still there.

Just seen Mists note about trashing them if they are visible ... I'll do that next log-in.
