Avlis down for hardware upgrade

Post by Silk » Fri Jan 31, 2003 12:08 am

All of Avlis will be down for hardware upgrades tonight. I have to let the current chip cool before removing it, so it may take a couple of hours or so.

I'll post a reply here when it's back up.

You can thank Pap for this:

I'm leaving Elysia and the Wilderness up without persistance.

Doh.. i forgot that ther servervault was on the other machine. Oh well... I turned servervault off for elysia and the wilderness... i also turned off item level restrictions.

No persistence, Local Vault Only, and No Item level restrictions...

GO CRAZY! (better than no Avlis at all, right?)

Haha, no problem...just hope whatever hardware it is that your putting in isnt faulty like the last few parts i've purchased for my CPU.

sorry to go off topic but....if your gonna be around later...after persistance is back up...I have some things to ask you...something me and Orleron discussed and he ok'ed it. I'll explain more later.

Good News:

DUAL PROCESSORS BABY!!!

Mikona and Wilderness are now on a dual processor server.... please let me know your experiences.

Elysia is all alone on the 350MHz system (thankfully).

Bad News:
Server's not recognizing Orleron's extram memory. I'm looking into seeing if i just have to reorganize what slot it's in or buy new memory (cheap anyway).

Whats the estimated wait until servers come up...another hour or two? Just wondering because I've been checking forums every 5-10 secs for replies.

yep, I did a run thruogh the warzone, haven't been able to do that for weeks... :)

there are some ridiculous spawns there though :(, and there was some slowdown.... server timed out. But up until then it was AWESOME. I think it is the spawns now that need fixing. Specificaly the equalizer and avenger spawns in Nan Sha tal or whatever it is called. Had about 20 equalizers, 20 avengers casting at the same time. All while hoards of M'chek and T'Nan soldiers were spawning. That would be hard on any machine.
