March 2024

Sanna Armsfeldt is our leader, and I wouldn't want it any other way.
Keith Deen is a refreshing and fun character.
Grimsbane Grimthorn is a blast. He makes me laugh every time.
Moldewarp Grimsbane: actions don't speak louder than words. And that's fine.
Big thumbs up to Rudiki for his Threat List and other efforts of IC information sharing on our boards.
I really enjoy Keith, such a good adventuring pal.
Bentren finally got a hovel. So simple, but so well made. Love the PH, and the character
Here's to Rroth'rrei Wyhleir! Thank you for playing a really pack hierarchy conscious predator gnoll! I enjoy how terrifically IC off-putting this character is while still being really true to a character concept. Great job man!
It's been fun to meet Miyo, the disappearing cat! A solid addition to any party.
Thank you Dorig Stonecleaver for the backstory!
There's a lot I like about Alexis Dufresne Montjoie, but this month I'd like to shout out the moments when he's just happy and joyful. This is a game where we play a lot of conflict, strife, and tragedy, but Alexis does joy better than most any character I've ever interacted with, effortlessly and with gusto.
Silver Fox is always worth a rave. Evil on Avlis always has a hard job balancing being a genuinely awful and terrifying person with being someone you want to play with, and for my money Silver Fox is one of the absolute best ever at this. She could wear my intestines as a necklace and I'd say thank you.
Kassha Firehart always and forever. Fantastic story about someone getting drowned by a mage transforming into an elemental. For all his stories, really, even the ones I've already heard a lot of times.
Motherfuckin' DUQ. This terrible, fantastic, shit-stirring little monster! He's amazing and I'm so glad he's back.
Candrielle Rose is just provocative enough that I'm sure it's on purpose, but you can't prove anything!
Rali'vinee Ish'tarestacia has been lovely to be around.
I love Ash's casual flips between fun party boy and devotee of the death god. He's got a really enjoyable occasional intensity.
I'm loving Gunter Smith! Scared, bookish fist fighting specialist is a pretty tall order, but the character pulls it off incredibly well.
Sammuel Valorian has just the most amazing instincts for what to say to keep a conversation in the air. High charisma player as well as character!
Here's to Hand/Fingers for helping with all the training, the set up, and everything! Love hearing stories about the Elysian occupation.
Redd is incorrigible
Tagnar is my favorite dwarf! He's so messy and awful, but with such a good core.
Ilomas! Fuckin' Ilomas is awesome! I'm so happy we're getting more situations that highlight his particular strifes and struggles. He deserves all the spotlight in the world.
Bra'rwk Barrowfang, thank you for combat to the death focused romance advice!
Frannie Mouze is such an incredibly generous character in terms of sharing her time and knowledge, space and resources. And behind the scenes her player is instantly helpful no matter the situation! Great community member.
Bentren Dunbarrow's alignment is adorable evil. I love his little bates motel of a house/shop, and his amazing commitment to the bit.
Thank you Kurn and Aramil for selling me drugs for my grandma!
Helmer Irongrip seems so long-suffering. Someone help this poor dwarf!
Alexis - a relentless pursuer of information, herder of cats (figurative, although sometimes literal OOC), converser-about of things, and all-round good egg. And he's just fun to be around!
Nostalgia - no jokes this time, Li'l Nos has become an Avlis stalwart. An excellent example of a funny but also rounded and believable character.
Sammy - it's so wonderful to have a character of such long experience and accomplishment nevertheless happy to play a supporting and encouraging role for others, as well as pursuing their own interests. Always a good time with Sam!
Fignar - a dwarf so dwarf it's almost too dwarf.
Grimthorn - I'm told to stop complaining and accept that he is "juicy." Make of this what you will.
Vat'sheloom - elf with a machinegun.
Avra - whenever Chips isn't on screen all the other characters should be asking, "Where's Chips?"
Sanna - for her dedication to pursuing her goal.
Moldewarp - what a horrible li'l guy! It's been great to get to know him more!
Duq - the return of the "hrrm", his antics this month have injected both colour and consternation!
Rade - a very scouty scout.
Everyone - a very special shout-out for everyone who brings their ideas, interests, sense of humour, and effort to make this place what it is. Thank you!
Its Dumb Brute Appreciation Hour! I have been enjoying Grimthorn and Rroth'rei and their antics a lot. I also want to shout out Max for keeping the adventuring spirit high! I also love Cyprian Tcharov and his wizarding ways. There should be more wizards!
It's great seeing Ash back in the game.
I thoroughly enjoyed interacting with Lily this month.
You can never spend enough time with Nawen.
I love having Silver Fox around - witty, sarcastic, but crisply moves the plot along, and has a real knack for tactics.
Moriand has become a leader (reluctantly?), and turns out he's really good at it. He doesn't exactly ooze charisma or give off warm fuzzies. But he is 100% dedicated to the mission and watches out for the whole group, even to the point of pledging his soul to [foig].
Rave for Tillie. Ref played the part of semi-mad, tormented antagonist perfectly. Looking forward to seeing if there is any fallout.
Duq - sorry that you lost Guerry. Also looking forward to seeing if there is any fallout.
Lillith - her tendency to wander gives heartburn to DMs, but she consistently is thinking inside and outside the box to deal with problems, and always has on hand something useful, whether a small fortune in holy water, or tiny bags to stuff with bodies.
Lily, Nawen, Thienna - together. In the same place. In the same party. There were no implosions, lightning, death fields cast between the three, but there were SPARKS! (Although admittedly, some sparks were whispered.)
Kassha and Sammy are brilliant and often so inappropriate, which is excused, of course, because they are wearing red robes.
Rade - so many layers to that onion, sometimes ruthless, sometimes poignant, but always practical and brilliant.
Tagnar - always willing to take an axe to your head! But only if it's needed for the mission.
Thaylis is always gonna be the one you want backing you up, whether for making a potentially world-breaking choice, or for a simple fight against giant undead, pestilence-spewing hounds.
Ash - bringing some old school back to the Keepers, and asking the obvious questions, like, "Why aren't we killing this ghast?".
Kzin - you are absolutely everywhere! With a different identity for different groups, though always helpful and thoughtful, there's just enough of a different vibe I feel like I'm playing with totally different PCs.

April 2024

Hurray for Silver Fox, giving Kiera a challenge for title of Hostess with the Mostest! The ban on whispering and private asides made for the farthest ranging and fastest paced conversation at a party I've yet seen!
I haven't played that much this month, but I really enjoy running into Alexis in game. Always a good time, always Alexis. One of my favourite characters, I think.
Nos is always a delight, an amazing character and always a good time!
KERES, what an odd and intense presence!
Cyprian, my favorite mage but don't tell the other mages.
I would also like to rave Max but I can't seem to find him.
Naiandra is so helpful and easy-going with her "can do"-attitude, even when I know the player behind her isn't feeling the same :D
Zelda Firebottle is socially awkward in such a way that it even makes me cringe behind the screen. I haven't decided if that's good or not
Silver Fox! The great thing about Silver Fox is that the character's always being horrible- sometimes in little ways, sometimes outright villainy- but the player is always trying to make sure the other person is having maximum fun. She's so fast and so funny. A true delight.
Alexis Dufresne Montjoie takes every situation and makes it delightfully intense and personal.
Duq was an absolute star with his ritual circles, which gave everybody something to do
Ash, for doing stupid moves (it's cursed, damnit!) and sentimental evenings.
Oi! Redd! Exuberant and really confused about orphanages.
Here's to Lily Thay'tor, who let me rant at her, and then took me on a tour of her hometown.
Here's to Gunter Smith, who is doing excellent analysis of signature moves and some very patchy analysis of vampire romance!
Candrielle is a devastatingly effective mean girl.
Kurn is a pure delight every single time.
Siona's story arc is really paying off.
It was nice to get time with Kzin this month. He can often be very quiet, and it's nice when he opens up.
Thanks to Zelda for the backstory drop!
Kassha Firehart is just the best- consistently funny, full of old stories.
Sammy Valorian is an incredibly generous partner who elevates every interaction he's in.
Ilomas! I love you Ilomas! Not just because you're irresistibly hot, but because you're one of the most fascinating character studies on Avlis.
Hey, Ashanith- come at the king, you best not get lost in the fog. <3
Lilliana Be'letane is so completely devoted to mages and making the new version of the trust work. This player has been tireless and this character really masterful and making sure there's things for people to do, ways to be involved with plots, and a feeling of purpose and community.
Sceluscio and Alexis are so genuinely cute together when they relax enough to fall naturally into a partner pattern.
Moldewarp's a very cute sort of evil.
Alexis Dufresne Montjoie - never less than fabulous and compelling, my dears!
Sarith - always impeccably turned out, and great organization at the big summoning!
Xinzar - I just think he's neat! Thanks for the best answer to a question this month!
Sammy Valorian - magic! Rituals! Fireballs! Fun! Scrubs up nice too!
Lilliana Be'letane - MAGE DUELS! Instruction! Magitek plans!
Nostalgia Bellweather - our rovingest reporter, roving at Monk Speed!
Faide - a character of intense calm and connectedness to nature!
Lily T - cartomancy! Acerbic comments!
Mac - the most affable necromancer I know!
Keira Sophia Dane Tochi'larian - the socialite's socialite!
Sanna Armsfeldt - always on task, she'll get the job done!
Grimthorn - J U I C Y
Rade - because she might be right behind me, ready to stab me if I don't!
Keres - I have to adjust my brightness settings, but wow!
Max - so much more than the sidekick's sidekick!
Kassha Firehart - JAA! Artificing the DIVINE!
Ilomas Tahm'lieulia - always great, but had one of the biggest "moments" on Avlis in a while!
Emick Azorian - a stand-up guy!

May 2024

Keres is my favorite. Again! So much depth and conveying both the characters "natural grace" and own tempo. In lack of better terms.
Grimthorn. This guy has made me laugh out loud so many times this month. Such a charicature but he surprises me none the less.
Max has been very consistent lately! A character it feels so natural for to stick his nose into (and out of) things
Owen Thayt'or: Paladins want him, Annihilators want to be him.
Sammy Valorian: When you absolutely, positively got to kill every motherfucker in the room, accept no substitutes.
Sammuel Valorian has my eternal respect for playing his phobia of wild magic to hilt. Noping out of an event right at the start when the words Entropy Plain is acting up were mentioned. (With the cherry on top being the party were aware they only had to go through there to reach a boat.)
Fignar is such a gem, a true dwarfs dwarf. Love that character!
Really enjoyed Max this month. Perfect sidekick 😊
Grandrin, Rroth, Silverfox, Xzar, Sam, Nostalgia, Rade, Lily, Owen, Gunter, Lily Greenfingers, Dameon, Krek, and the dwarf - For a great show of duels, sportsmanship, and fighting spirit. We are all the richer for it.
Umbra: Tiny anthills now, villages later.
Grimthorn - Monosyllabic. On the rare occasion even laconic. He lets his walk do the talking.
Image
Silverfox - This character is a paragon of charm, wit, and principle.
Bentren - "The emphasis is on the Bent." He made me a wand of living undeath. I tried to pay. He refused, claiming the chance to practice necromancy payment enough. He then spoke with rapturous zeal on the delicious and unique sensations that various necromantic spells give, emphasizing the oily coating living undeath applies when used. The man is a treasure of "ick", his store is full of humor, and his mother is to die for.
Lily - For a wonderful time reading Tarot, using headology, and pulling my PC out of rp doldrums. A bit of an onion--American onion not British onion--I mean layers, damnit. And for the crunchy bits, seeing such big spell numbers out of a cleric is inspiring.
Nostalgia Bellringer - I appreciate how genuine and down-home-country the character is, whether the outcome is in her favor and not. The martial arts dedication and enthusiasm of the character is awesome and has made for some great player-driven monk events.
Max - A great character with a player who works to include others in whatever is afoot. Very fun concept and awesome execution.
Owen - The sweetest most amiable annihilator that you just can't help but like (you hope).
Xzar - Hilarious in love. We are rooting for you Xzar! It doesn't matter that she is undead. It doesn't matter that she tries to kill you every time she sees you. Love will overcome!
Gunter - For all the stutter, I am pretty sure he could knock my block off.
Dorin - An old player who has been away so long he is essentially completely new to Avlis. Listening to him giggle and laugh his way through all the new areas and systems is a delight. The character is a delight. And a dwarf! And hilarious! Ask him about his "emotional support axe."
Umbra - Never look a gift dragon in the mouth (in this case it is full of insects).
Sanna Armsfedlt - It has been fun watching this character grow and find her essence as an adventuring dungeon delver. The player driven content and humor of the journal bring a lot of smiles.
Lili'an'a B'el'ta'ne - I don't know if I got the apostrophes right, but hats off to the player for getting player-driven mage events off the ground and reawakening the sport of spell dueling. The character's acerbic wit and dedication to her art is peak elf for me.
Sam Hamhands - He may be on to something with these "completely mundane" coins. Diamond rocket moon emoji.
Drago Redclaw - I've always enjoyed this character. The hero Tolwaithe keep deserves.
Gann Eider - So good that he is back. Try to bathe him if you can.
Alexis - Fabulous at being fabulous.
My character's interactions with Nostalgia have consistently been a great motivation and enabler for me as a player to develop my character. When I was initially unsure of how to develop the character, these interactions over these few months have really helped me flesh out the character, bringing them to life.
Alexis is always a joy to interact with. Whether you are a new character or an established one, his acknowledgement and curiosity to details in character descriptions and in game actions makes every character feel relevant and seen.
I know I talk up Sammuel Valorian every single month but god damn, man. So much wonder and joy out of this character this last month. He's genuinely funny and someone whose player works hard to include others, lift others up, notice character choices, and make the world a nice place to be. Avlis MVP.
Silver Goddamn Fox. From sassy drinks parties to casual bullying to pit fights to foreign invasions, Silver is absolutely peerless for charismatic evil. Here's to the people who can hurt you and still make it a damn good time.
Alexis Dufresne Montjoie is over the top of course, but in the best way. It's fun to watch him struggle with always doing the right thing.
Macharry Mennemein is the cuddliest necromancer. No offense to Bentren Dunbarrow.
Keira Sophia Dane Tochi'larian is never anything less than poised and fabulous.
Kzin for being willing to absolutely bunt on talks about romance.
Rade is a joyful little gremlin. I appreciate this player's commitment to making sure every interaction is a fun one!
Lilliana Be'letane continues to do an amazing job as moderator- setting up events, sharing expertise, and also being dryly funny in every single interaction.
Gunter Smith has been seizing monkdom in his two nervous hands and absolutely killing it this month. It's so fun to watch this character find his stride on his special interest, and absolutely dive joyfully into the how and why of kung fu magic. Just a delight.
I know Teleniel E'Luarn is an older character, but this has been the first time I've had a good opportunity to really sit down with her and ask what she believes. Some really good conversations!
Boy, Ilomas Tahm'lieulia had a month huh? For my money, one of the best characters to ever strut and fret across the stage of avlis, and it's been exceptional to have had the privilege of watching him have a deeply personal arc.
Here's to Amodeth Thindelin for shady dealings! Love it when people set a course against the current.
I'm very glad Siona Lyeri has been able to get so much in game resolution. It was good to meet her teacher/father on screen!
Candrielle Rose has been really interesting. She does a great mean girl routine, but she's also been helpful and professional.
Miyo Ktahr'larl's developing into a really good sneak scout. It's fun to watch her and Rroth do a cat and dog routine.
Goddamnit Redd, we don't run an orphan exchange. You're a terrible spokesperson!
Dorig Stonecleaver gives such lovely dad vibes, in that sort of been there, done that, and now I'm going to be helpful, but not so much that you don't get the valuable lesson of your own mistakes.
It's been good to see Zelda Firebottle warm up to the other monks despite initial reservations. She and Gunter seem like they get along great, and I'm delighted by it.
Max is so goddamn sunny and love him to pieces.
I like what I've seen of Moldewarp Grimsbane in the client, and what I hear of him through the grapevine is even more intriguing!
Owen Thay'tor is very smooth in a very intimidating way.
I love when Ashanith Esban is snooty and callous.
Tupaia Warick is the gentlest, sweetest face you could put on harmonious nature. Doing Skern proud out there, Tup.
Here's to Grandrin Kain, out there on the grind every day.
Several tons of thank you to Emick Azorian, for the help with the mining and the general sweetness.
Kurn Murdolled is a very thoughtfully played sort of thoughtlessness. It's a goddamn art and I fully salute the player.
Several really fun conversations with Xzar Nefzen- and also being on the wrong side of some of his devastating spells. Thank you, man!
Really impressed with Khurel Reznik for the little time I got to see him.
It's been great to have Pru Zirush along on all these outings. I hope it's helping the character find her feet.
To Naiandra for being an amazing crafter on such short notice!
To Kiranring Thalos for adjusting as well as is possible to being an initiate to the Red Manor. Congratulations on being the archmage now!
It's been really good to hear more from Sarith!
Grimthorn, you beautiful hairy maniac! I enjoy your boundless energy, violent confidence, and earthy musk.
Fignar! There have been a lot of fantastic low charisma stars on avlis but Fignar is one of the absolute best.
I salute Sanna Armsfeldt and her leaderly presence. You are doing good, hard work, madam.
It's great to see Constance Drake back in the cloak and dagger. She's amazing at it.
I have loved Faide Rinthon every time I've interacted with her. She's quiet, but not in a shy way. Like in a portentous way. The way a circle of old standing stones, covered in moss is quiet.
I like Lily Greenfingers wild impulsiveness and assistant play.
GANN FUCKIN EIDER. What does the sun eat, Gann Eider? It's so good to see you back, my friend.
I like that Fingers got to duel a giant belligerent minotaur martial artist. I am also so relieved he won.

June 2024

Gunter Smith has been a delight. It's been fun to watch this shy nervous PC come into his own, and to watch him light up when he's talking about his very own hyper focus.
I owe a very special thanks this month to Dorig Stonecleaver and his pilot, who noticed something my character had been trying to divert attention from IC and took the time to address it. It was one of the nicest moments I've had in game with almost any character, and a very sweet gesture.
Teleniel E'Luarn has jumped into helping out newer characters with both feet this month. She's offered up gear and advice, and come along on numerous outings, and run across servers to get someone a special present.
Rroth'rrei Wyhleir is delightfully game. I love that the character works hard to make everything a competition, but takes losing very gracefully.
Miyo Ktahr'larl is an excellent forward scout. I liked hearing about Tyedu hunting eagles.
Redd. Redd please. Stop telling people that we don't exchange children.
It's been really nice to be out with Candrielle, who is a champion mean girl who keeps finding herself in situations where she's not inclined to be so cutting.
Emick is the sweetest guy out there. A real kind friend.
Silver Fox is constantly finding ways to bring people in on the fun while still being terrifyingly evil. Her war meeting was a really nice example of a character who's both frightening and compelling.
I have grown so incredibly fond of Rade. An absolutely generous scene partner who will surprise you again and again, and is good competition without feeling like they need to win every time.
Owen's a very charming sort of evil. I his journal this month rocked as well.
Fignar Beln is one of the greatest low charisma exemplars out there. I love that he could neither read nor comprehend this comment.
Got to have an amazing conversation with Xzar Nefzen about passion and exploration. It's exactly the sort of thing I log into Avlis for, and was an unexpected treat on a late night.
I was delighted this month to get to know Lily Greenfingers a little better, getting backstory and context. I love how standoffish she can be sometimes, and there's such a lot going on there.
I rave Alexis Dufresne Montjoie every month, and this is no exception. This is a character who is passionately committed to sharing information as widely as possible and inviting everyone they can to participate. The world is richer for it.
Sammy Valorian is just a breath of pure life and fun in everything he touches. He's so elevating.
Faide is delightfully spooky! She was great in the Feywild!
Fingers got to fight a minotaur!
Ilomas Tahm'lieulia is one of my favorites every single time, an ambitious character who's being forced to look hard at his actions and his own worldview, and who is coming to very interesting conclusions.
Shout out to Lena, who is doing a very good job at the difficult trick of playing a character without speaking.
Max is a goddamn delight. The sunniest ball of stabby shadow.
Tupaia is, as ever, so kind and so patient. It's lovely.
I liked Lily's private moment with the sadness mushroom a lot.
Xinxar is understated, but very good.
Macharry is my favorite necromancer.
It was great to see Constance Drake again! She's such a great cloak and dagger character!
I finally got to meet Karl Rivadon, and he was everything I'd hoped! So much enthusiasm.
Got some of Moldewarp Grimsbane's horrible backstory. He's awesome.
Gann Eider! Even just seeing your name on the servers makes me smile.
Kassha Fuckin' Firehart! For everything. For complicated opinions about history and divinity. For the best uglyflirting. For the creaky hips and the ladder up to the loft. For all of the strange tiny projects that clearly bring him such joy, and all the generosity with others.
Ash for writing and performing a whole song. Yay bards.
Claudia Nalvad: Absolutely nailing a Dr. Delbert Doppler impression.
Naia - One of my favorite nature freaks to play with. They player happens to be cool too.. so + +
Nostalgia - So yeah I have seen Nostalgia .. over.. and over .. and over again darting past my PCs back and forth slaying the evil... CUTE as FUCK! But over the last year or so, I have also seen the much deeper, more thoughtful, and slower Nostalgia as well. So KEEP it up! <3
Lexy - Amazing as always, I dont know how he does it. It been YEARS sheesh! What, keeps him going on?
Alexis Dufresne Montjoie: *Eighteen years, three months, and twenty seven days*
Lily - No, not that one... no not that one either... you know the one... yes, that one! Always a pleasure to RP with her, I don't know whether I want to get to know her better or take ship from Mikona and run!
Owen Thay'tor - What a friendly, helpful fellow he is! He's never given me any reason whatsoever to distrust him or even be cautious of him, so why do I feel such unease?
Alexis Dufresne Montjoie - Just fabulous! His little expressive gestures and mannerisms are a delight to interact with!
Ever get the feeling that someone is only not murdering an entire room with their bare hands because that would be rude? That's how I feel around Nostalgia Bellweather!

Re: Role Players Anonymous

Post by RPotM » Thu Sep 12, 2024 11:15 am

It's.... Roleplayers Anonymous for August! Slightly late and slightly scuffed as it's under new management! Who is this? I'll never tell!

Onto the comments:
Dreckler the sorceror: for being curious and adventurous, exploring with his menagerie of Summon Creature I and Familiar and just partaking in the world at large.
Moldewarp Grimsbane: Moldewarp is a champion for both keeping things together across several events and groupings while also being filled with vitriol and pulling dirty tricks out of his sleeve at opportune moments.
Dorig Stonecleaver has been a solid rock in the Branching Way. I'm always very pleased when he's able to be there with us.
Tel! My previous characters never really had anything that brought them into Tel's orbit, but I'm really enjoying getting to know her now. It's always nice when you meet these characters that have a load of in-game history, including old wounds, surprising relationships to other characters, idiosychratic opinions, and the built-up wisdom of experience.
My favorite thing about Miyo is when she's at her least "human". The other night she got sulfur vapor on her fur and dashed out to jump into a fountain because the smell was too much. I enjoy her disdain for the heat and her longing for a distant home.
It's fun watching Gunter Smith come more and more out of his shell. I love the synergy this character has between his mechanics- all defensive and evasive- and his shy and trepidatious personality.
Cadence Everhart always RPs in a dungeon and it's spectacular!
Oh, MAN, Candrielle's story about her sister was an absolute highlight this month. So much casual disregard for anyone but herself. Not even actual malice, just a crystal clear and profound self-focus. Chef's kiss stuff, man.
Mika Fendt is adorable. I enjoy offering her things she's too good to take.
Alexis Dufresne Montjoie is one of the best partners I've ever played with for high-emotion rp and sneaking poetry into almost every conversation. And no, Silver Fox, I'm not going to "put him out of his misery" just because he's having a fainting spell.
Hand is a sweet, low-key constant in guild outings, and it's fun to watch him master his way through new powers and find his footing. Enjoyed his creative solutions in the Fey Wilde.
I enjoy the degree to which Vayarus Iliphine speaks in really unfiltered terms.
Sceluscio's laser focus on what interests him and ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ELSE is always very fun to watch and play with.
Kiranring Thalos seems like just the sweetest little craft elf to ever walk the earth.
Having first met Kassha Firehart when he was a a handsome wastrel of a sorcery prodigy, I'm never going to get tired of him as a scoured husk of a body that houses one of the single greatest arcane minds living- especially since he's still trying to duck paperwork.
It's been fun to meet Amalea and I'm excited to hear more of her story!
I love the degree to which Rade will let you push back against her, and what a good partner she is for an oppositional scene.
Been super impressed with Julian Rilke this month, particularly with his ability to off-the-cuff improvise poetry. A gentleman and an artist!
Always nice to play with Kassaerth, and got some lovely backstory from her this month!
Once again, I am raving Kurn. This will always continue. He's so good with playing with everyone in a scene- he's fast and funny and only ever distinctly himself.
Chyjri has really grown, and it's been nice to have the character take on more gravity. Good on you, man!
Hey Dreckler- welcome to Avlis! This guy has been game for absolutely everything, and a pleasant addition to every single party he's been in, even the ones that were just parties. Also, hello Mischief!
Thanks to Aneirin for initiating a little jam session. I loved the little noodling rhymes back and forth, based on the conversation around it.
Rroth is so very game. I love watching him run into danger to prove himself. Also, I love him squaring up immediately against the other biggest guy there.
I'm so happy to see Morgan Thornheart back. I love his dry sociopathy!
Thanks for coming along Garrek! Looking forward to descriptions of wemic kung fu!
Nostalgia, It's just such a great experience roleplaying with her, especially since her worldviews are diametrically opposed in a lot of ways, and who doesn't like sweet little halflings? :liebhab:
Bentren, he's great, he's creepy, and makes me want to learn more about him
Scaylz, I'm giving credit where it's due, definitely one of the greats whether on the DM controls or in game, thank you so much!
Lily and Owen, not only super interesting to engage with, but also love Trinity's and what they bring to the community

It's! Roleplayers Anonymous for September! We had a lot of submissions this month, thank you!

Here we go:
I'm pretty much a fan of all of The1Kobra's characters - each is different from the other enough that you would never guess they had the same driver.
Nostalgia - Simply the sweetest little kneebreaker you ever met.
The Thaytor's - Excellent at all times - I love em
Max is killing it, soon to be the most famous person ever :)
The Drexler & Mishchief Journal! Love reading their perspectives!
Julien is a wonderful bard and character to hang around.
Lily is a complicated, excellently roleplayed pc!
Jazz's npcs! Love it when the Riddler makes an appearance. Ian also was a lot of fun to play with!
Shoutout to Nostalgia, Amalea, and Alexis! You guys have been a blast!
Also shoutout to Titania and Caydo! Not sure which one of you is responsible for the guillotine plot and the mutated knolls plot, but it's pretty rad. (And if it was someone else I'm sorry!)
Shoutout to Jazz for the lowbie plot! It was great!
Shoutout to Druid for having a more open-world adventure that we somehow managed to do backwards.
Redd is a fast and funny guy. Also, he has a mohawk.
Dreckchief! I'm impressed at how well these two gel together, but also feel like different entities.
Julian Rilke seems to have an endless supply of inspiration!
Candrielle Rose has a sister now!? I know so little about her.
Xzar! What a move.
I want to note that I have thoroughly been enjoying Dreckler and Mischief. They're fantastic and hilarious, a wonderful addition to Avlis!
The variety and creativity of the event team with all of the different sorts of events and interactions going on, be them large scale, small, or out of the blue have been a great time. Kudos! I've had the chance to see how different PCs react at incredibly different situations and it's been super cool!
Glad to see Tor's back! Woo! Get some gits! :D
Oi! The brownies are great! (Redd, DeeDee, Chilly) Super fun to hang out with and I love their dynamic!
Tillie - so broken right now. Can see this PC taking so many possible paths. Can’t wait to see which they choose.
Lily Thayt’or as wise counselor, though still ready with the sharp tongue for the foolish. Always great to RP with.
Silver Fox - Confident, strong, quick to judge, supremely sure in her superiority, bitingly clever, and more than ready to back up their opinions with a sharp blade.
Naelwyn Silvador - Also confident, strong, quick to judge, supremely sure in her superiority, and more than ready to back up their opinions with a sharp blade. Her wit is not quite as biting as Silver Fox’s, but she makes up for it with brazen bossiness. Separated at birth? Silver Fox’s long lost cousin? Who’s to say?
Loving all the Red Mages - when a red robed wizard/spec shows up, you know things are going to get interesting! Particularly shout out to Xzar for taking initiative and pushing a plot along.
Moriand is always true to who he is - even if it makes other characters squirm a bit. I love it!
Lanara (I am so a dragon!) Chainclaw. Perky, naive, semi delusional, but a party member you can absolutely count on!
Candrielle Rose wears the Cattiest PC crown at the moment. Im sure her antagonism of Nostalgia is purely anccidental… And she’s competent in a fight!
Love Nostalgia always! The character is so relatable, believable - a good soul in a broken world trying to figure out how to do her best.
Keres Is intriguing - I want to see more!
Kzin keeps plugging away - usually subtly, with formal bows as a little fey to the vampire Queen, or a cheery hello to whatever bizarre beast, or offering quiet corrections and comments as adventurers plot their next moves. He’s always there with a surprising array of skills and a reliable solidity.
Chyjri has grown so much! Quite the compelling white wizard, he’s shed a lot of his childish features but still worries and frets enough for the entire group, and can give Krek’siss a run for her money in keeping party members healed up.
Alexis is always a pleasure to play with, whether reprimanding bad behavior at a house-party, in the midst of a fainting spell, or reciting poetry!
I love Bentren's sinister commercialism. I imagine him sitting in his barrow, gleefully rubbing his hands together whenever a customer walks in.
Tel & Delurion are always helpful and willing to explain.
Silver Fox and Max provide reliably amusing banter during events!
Nostalgia is such a great character, charitable, easily flustered. I LOVE her home and the Southern Gothic sensibilities of her backstory.
Lily, patron of the arts and fun conversationalist!
Sion, Broken Hand Merc, The Tullies, Earar, Dima, Not a Dragon Wyvern, Never Ending Swamps, Boggie, The Riddler, Elven Recruits, Fredwill, I know I am missing a few.. BUT DAMN FUN ITS BEEN!
Sticky Fingers Chilly!
Dreckler has been an absolute stand out this month. I love the double act with Mischief, and the journal is absolutely adorable. It’s so great to see the amount of commitment and enthusiasm this player brings!
I like Krek’siss a lot. It feels like a character where there’s a lot there.
The Rose sisters have been a really fun surprise this month. Candrielle continues to be horrible in the best possible way. I don’t completely have a feel for the new on yet, but I love how coordinated things feel between the two of them, right down to the color schemes and the joyfull “yes-and”ing.
I’ve really been enjoying Archibald lately. It feels like with his player behind the curtain nowadays, Archie shows up where he’s most needed, like a well-tailored pigeon Gandalf. It’s also really cool to see him take on a pupil.
I always love Gunter Smith. It’s been nice to see him come into his own.
Tel was not someone I had played with a lot before, but I’ve really enjoyed the knowledge and generosity, and the unwillingness to back down from what the character genuinely believes.
Deeply enjoying Lily Thayt’or, patron of the arts. It’s been lovely to see her open up more about her past and what matters to her.
Julian Rilke, OH MY GOD. What’s not to love. The character’s a genuinely excellent poet, a generous scene partner, and just a spectacular decadent aesthete. Chef’s kiss, man.
I have been enjoying Azug so much this month. All the joyful violence and the experimenting with jokes, breaking headlong through doors that were not remotely locked, and the occasional moments of gentleness. Just a lovely character all around.
Amalea has been omnipresent and Avlis has been better for it. A solid Fegal gal!
Had an absolutely lovely conversation with Ronan! Thank you for taking the time to talk life, death, history, philosophy, and magic!
Kurn is always a good time! I love his little jokes and asides.
Max has been an absolute MVP this month. Thank you to his player for putting up with countless frustrations and always being supportive with all his actions! He’s the hero who’s going to save us all!
Alexis Dufresne Montjoie is delightfully over the top, and such a fun flirt!
Xzar’s a good addition to any party and I’ve enjoyed the running around with him this month.
I really love Rroth’s dedication to philosophy and debate, like if Diogenes was some kind of violent hyena man. I love the dedication to the pack mentality.
Redd is a-fuckin-dorable. He is easily the least disciplined monk, but that’s forgivable because he’s a charming little rascal.
Miyo is a thoughtful, consistent total package. She’s a great example of a player who’s really thought through how feat choices and IC powers work within a character.
Morgan Thornheart is the best sort of horrible, because he never seems to realize how horrible he is. He’s just trying to be part of the conversation.
Here’s to Legzak, Snowfoot, and Badamunz! Way to hang at a very dark and chaotic event!
Naelwyn Silvador is such an absolutely singular paladin. I love her pushiness and her exasperation with everybody around her.
I love Ash and his melancholy self-destruction, and the death prophecy hanging over his head.
I’ve been enjoying how much work goes into Thalin Thund, who is possibly the most try-hard PC to have ever existed. He’ll get that foundation closer to his skin tone eventually!
Silver Fox is such a classic bit of Avlis, she feels like she’s almost a pillar that holds up part of the world. I love her casual meanness and her lightning wit.
It’s so nice to have Moriand back! And also watching him try not to swear around a priestess of Dagath was the cutest thing ever.
That's a wrap! Thanks all, see you next month!

I know it's late! It's been a weird start to the month!

*~Roleplayers Anonymous for October~*
Props to Dennis for sacrificing some of the content in a dungeon for IC reasons. Could have gotten more loot, but he chose the interesting path.
Dreckler and Mischief - always on, always IC, always fun, always thinking... its great to have such a rock to RP against! KEEP IT UP!
Max - I am sure at one point I might get tired of Max.. BUT NOT YET!
The Keepers - sort of like a roller coaster, calm, smooth, then suddenly going down hill too fast, then a loop, HOLD ON TO YOUR STOMACH ! things are about to get messy!
Funny and Chilly like white on rice!
Ashera, my NEW favorite dragon.
Keith - Image
Bentren! It's always creepy and fun when you interact with Bentren. Quickly becoming one of my favourite characters!
Keith! The only companion you'll ever need, really enjoyed playing with Keith this autumn, top tier character!
Dreckler and Mischief - Love the journal, love the interactions, love the openness to Avlis and its miscreants!
Keith Deen - Great run of events and plots with this guy lately, and bonus points for journal!
This might be last months rpotm but Julian Rilke is a great character
Mika Fendt - Uhmm.. She's great.
Thanks all! Remember to get your next comments in by December 8th!

*~Roleplayers Anonymous for November and Early December~*

Naia is a lot more hilarious than I ever realized. Her sense of humor is top-notch and she makes me laugh (even if my character doesn't often get it) every time I run into her.
Hats off to Lady Mischief, her familiar (), and the top-notch pilot behind two distinct personalities. That's hard to do; well done!
MISCHIEF FOR ROLEPLAYER OF THE YEAR
and her person Dreckler, sure
I have to rave DM Jazz for running awesome plots!
Grimthorn is legend already! this eloquence! *grunts*
DM Scaylz, for making Deglos even scarier and darker
I watched Alexis Dufresne Montjoie be upset earlier this month. It broke my heart. Alexis is always on top form, always in character and always the life and soul of any party he happens to be a part of. A real joy to RP alongside, attentive and accommodating, you really feel like Alexis takes pleasure in knowing people, however briefly.
Honestly? A huge thank you to everyone! You guys are awesome, across the board.
Bentren Dunbarrow - He's creepy, his shop attendants are even more creepy, and you better watch out because your bones may come up missing!
The Thayt'or's - They are just really well roleplayed, I don't know what else to say. Their backstories during the festival were just impressive and hit home.
Vayarus - Really liking where his journey is taking him and looking forward to seeing where he ends up.
Dreckler - I really enjoy just adventuring with him and Mischief around Avlis, quite pleasurable. Thank you for that.
Dreckler and Mischief are not only a fantastic double act, but they’ve got one of the most engaging journals in a long time! Absolutely great stuff.
I’ve really been enjoying Sammy Valorian’s refresh. It’s a great dedication to fun jokes, wonderful/terrible trash talk, and being the oldest, richest delivery boy on avlis.
Tillie had a hell of a November! Such a good character making such dramatic choices!
I will be eternally grateful to Timber Kin’Poesy for agreeing to try to heal my character in a more abstract sense.
Max is the hero Deglos has always deserved!
Candrielle is SO MEAN and it’s a lot of fun.
I love that Alexis Dufresne Montjoie runs the gamut on emotions from subtle and quiet to full on scene chewing, that he takes the world seriously but doesn’t pull back from laughing at himself, and that he occasionally just busts out with poetry. It’s lovely.
Hurricane Riva!
I’m so glad Moriand is back and has found a place where he can thrive. He’s always been one of my favorite characters. I love how much he has the other keepers’ backs.
I love the specific kind of brave Gunter Smith is, where if you just defend yourself well enough you can stand against anything.
Silver Fox has so much PRESENCE. She dominates any room she’s in and pulls everything into her gravity- which in the hands of a less talented player might not be fun, but by god she’s such a good time.
It was her birthday this month so she also has so much "presents". -ed
Naelwyn Silvador is such a fantastic grouchy good! I’m so proud of her for sticking with it.
I love Rodrick as a genuine lawful good character who is nevertheless gentle and sweet.
I will never not crack up at Kassha Firehart. He has committed to the bit so hard he’s transcended it, and I love him for it.
I really enjoy Redd and Chilly. They’re little chaos bundles.
Tel’s been such a huge help with monk outings. I really appreciate the knowledge and the experience.
Emick is very cute.
I’m loving Rroth and his dedication to pack and hunting. I always love when a character has a strong philosophical grounding
WE GOT FELLOCK BACK!!! OH MY GOD i LOVE FELLOCK!!
Bentren Dunbarrow is such a delightfully cozy level of creepy.
Morgan Thornheart is a very dry level of funny and I adore him.
I love Zerub’s two decades commitment to playing the lowest charisma on avlis, now with the added sauce of playing very old!
I got to have a really beautiful moment with Ilomas and I’m so glad he took the time.
It’s fun that Tor has always had such a huge commitment to the bit of his character that the world sort of warps around it, and he’s never going to be anything other than who he is. He’s also a pretty gentle elder statesman, walking around as this quiet unkillable monster of a barbarian who shepherds people coming up.
Kiranring Thalos is so sweet and positive.
Grimthorn is hilarious, and I love his crass pragmatism.
I enjoy Constance Drake’s wheeling and dealing.
I’ve been developing an appreciation of Owen Thay’tor’s willingness to be a very charming villain.
Miyo gives good scout.
I love Faide a lot. She gives good spooky witchy vibes.

Re: Role Players Anonymous

*~Roleplayers Anonymous for December!~*

A bumper crop!
Zerub- Not Role Player of the Month..... Role Player Since Forever he walked into my life shoveling a wad of chew into his craw with the finesse of Clint Eastwood and the Duke all at once!
Lexy- The guy is always on.... not IG on.. but on..meaning everything he types is pure clean RP.. turn the knob to 11 RP!
Chilly- cant say enough as to how this brownie makes me laugh till it hurts.
Healing Lizard! - cant remember how to spell your name.. but YOU ROCK! (Psst! It's Krek'siss! -ed.)
Bobyn- your have it.. but I am not surprised , seeing how we have been RPing on and off with different characters for years. Thank you!
Big ups to Xzar. He’s delightfully experimental, and keeping the tradition of wild mage alive.
Sammy Valorian! A true pillar of Avlis, here since day one, always funny, always giving characters things to react to and ways to interact with the world.
Timber Kin’Poesy is going hard on pacifist and fixing the world and I love her for it.
It’s been really cool to see the evolution of Cel into a quiet, confident young man. It’s been really nice to watch this character from his beginning.
Dreckler and Mischief continue to be an iconic double act. I particularly like when its Mischief who gets annoyed about things.
Silver Fox continues to be the absolute most enjoyable evil to be around, and I cannot compliment the player enough on their ability to be mean in a really fun and funny way.
I don’t think I’ve said it enough, but it’s nice to have Tor Varson back. He’s very good at just shepherding people on good solid adventuring runs.
I want to give an extra rave this month to Alexis Dufresne Montjoie. He’s someone who’s put a lot of thought into his character, and is willing to take a hit to make sure they’re played consistently. The player is always putting in the maximum effort to making sure they’re giving their absolute best, and Avlis would not be the same without them.
I'd usually put these at the end, but I'm opening this bottle with a Big Rave for Sarmanos (double plot resolution with extra effects!), Lycanthropy (covering all of the bases in DMing), Refminion and BRF (SANTUS), e_t (Solstice Star), and everyone on the team who's contributed this past month, including Assist DMs, CCC & QA!
Kassha took Epic Dodge as a feat, but it only works against responsibility.
Sam is a powderkeg of fun on any adventure
Alexis is so well played, for so many years!
Bentren is a wonderfully suspect character, and what he's about is in clear view if you put the pieces together.
I'm always glad to see Naelwyn trying to keep all of the marbles in a straight line on a boat being tossed about at sea. The life of a Paladin isn't an easy one, but she's grown into it more and more.
Nostalgia should definitely just haul off and punch someone without warning when they give her a hard time. I hope to be there to see it, and I hope it's not my character.
Nobody arrives on, departs from, and steals the scene like Silver Fox.
Lena doesn't say a lot, or anything, but can be so expressive that her lack of speech works all the more.
I'm so glad MJ is back from being a tree. Voting for a tree would be weird.
Lily T. balances when to be inquisitive, cutting, or directly in your face.
Mischief, and their familiar "Dreckler" are a lot of fun! I enjoy their journal entries as well.
Zerub is surprisingly good in a philosophical conversation, and I very much love his tired old man character choices!
I have to say how pleased I’ve been with Chyjri’s development. He’s really broadened out from his initial characterization and it’s cool to see him playing a full fledged mage.
Pleased to see Malulani jael MacMurray back around and representing O’ma! I hear she’s been a tree.
Fingers gave a really cute lesson on being a small fighter with a much larger opponent. Great use of space
It was so cute to see Rroth being a full on trainer for little guys. Listen, I know he’s evil, but his dedication to the idea of a pack is really endearing.
Miyo continues to be incredibly sweet. My favorite thing is when she is very much a cat.
I enjoy Gunter’s low charisma and high competence.
I don’t think I have ever seen Sammy Valorian be anything less than an amazing time to be around.
Mala Blake! It’s great to have you back, goddess woman!
I enjoy Sceluscio’s absolutely insane lack of self-preservation where illithids are concerned.
Emick is a sweetheart and it’s always good to see him around.
Kassha Firehart is a horrible little gremlin and I mean that as the highest possible compliment.
I really enjoy Faide’s quiet wisdom with things. She’s particularly good to have by your side as you stare deeply into a hell dimension.
Morgan Thornheart is perfectly awful. Good on him.
Candrielle Rose is a cavalcade of small, deniable meannesses. It’s a really strong character choice.
I really enjoy Redd settling down a bit from his most chaotic impulses, and trying to be a bit more disciplined.
I love Dorig Stonecleaver whenever he shows up. He’s such a stolid presence.
Lily Greenfingers flirting has got to be the most adorable thing I’ve ever seen.
A really good conversation with Lily T about guilt and shame and the purpose of corrective emotions.
It’s so good to have Dani Earthgift back! She’s just one of my favorite bro paladins.
Thank you for the tour of your house, Olisa! It’s very pretty!
I enjoy Sharenna Rose when she shows up as a delightful counterpoint.
Thank you Thaylis for having an argument with my halfling about who was going to carry the incredibly large heavy thing.
Here’s to Darinius Volpe and hardline Toran.
It was fun seeing Draconis as an old Gorethite.
I quite like Krek’siss
Bentren is amazing. I love his morbid opportunism, his unhinged priorities, and what a goddamn mummy’s boy he is.
Redwyn Ironhart was a delight. I love a good stolidly neutral character, dedicated to duty and unbothered by other particulars.
I don’t think I could rave Lena enough. It’s a really big swing to play a mute in a typing based game, but she does it so incredibly well. I feel like I know her better as a character than any one of a dozen characters who can talk.
Keith is pretty darn cute!
I love all things Alexis. hope to see him more in game!
All the chars I run into at Trinity, plus Lily & Owen are so cool
Zerub's player - ew - but welcome back in full force!
Nostalgia is reacts and contributes with thoughtfulness, respect, and patience. Such a pleasure to talk to her, always.
Lexy never ever ever fails to leave me in some kind of state - awe, delight, empathy - . Love this char to my bones!
Krek'siss is a delight! She makes me smile. Love rp'ing w/her.
Mighty Mighty Tor always deserves a shout out. He's always so THERE for everyone.
Lanara is a cheerful and fresh flower of cuteness.
I’ve enjoyed the interactions with Candrielle this month. A true master of her arts, she gets the job done.
Owen has always been a solid and reliable figure for others to rally around.
Lily Thay’tor brings “it” every time she logs in.
Lisa handled several delicate negotiations like a champ this month.
Mamba - This one doesn’t say much, but when he does he speaks with his blades.
Rade is a scout every group wishes they had.
A shout out to the Aarilaxian Hunt Club
Thienna is reliable, dependable and true to her race and religion.
I’ve not spent many in-game sessions with Allen, but I always look forward to his roleplay every time.
Brother Echeneus! What a delightful old man. Oozing with charm
Amalea Tendershoots - The Tiny Knight of Fegall! Running around making stuff <3
Krek'siss - We like the lizard
Alexis is a delight.
I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who stopped to even say "hello" during my return as Malulani jael MacMurray. Everyone of you contribute to making this world come alive for me. Even those silly Blackguards and Annihilators :liebhab: . Special thanks to those who put up with my OOC shenanigans which my PC totally doesn't know I'm doing through her. I missed you guys terribly.

Re: Role Players Anonymous

Post by RPotM » Thu Feb 06, 2025 5:48 pm

*~Roleplayers Anonymous for January!~*

So many wonderful comments this month, thank you!
The wedding vows and emotes between Marina and Rylee during their ceremony were heartfelt and touching. Great RP you two!
Kurn did a great job providing songs and entertainment during the early stages of the wedding, and a big shout out to Seth and Rook for joining him toward the end of the celebration. The three of them rocked and entertained all.
I enjoyed watching Nora’s interactions with others as she navigated the various groups of people attending the island wedding.
You have to love new characters, and Olivia is no exception.
Another successful trade faire in now in the books, and I want to shout out to the everyone - DMs and players - for making it an enjoyable experience. And Auctions!
A big thumbs up to all the minds behind the Dark Beyond plotlines happening, and the cool models and effects made to accompany them!
Lily Thayt'or has been pretty awesome!
Rroth'rrei Wyhleir is always interesting to be around, given his unique perspective of the world.
I've been seeing more of Allen Dald around who's pretty cool!
I like the dynamic between Redd and Chilly. They really do seem like siblings who get along.
AND YOU DEAR READER! YES YOU! YOU'RE AWESOME, AND NEVER LET ANYONE TELL YOU OTHERWISE!
The bard trio at the wedding, insanely entertaining. Top Notch !
The circle of potion testers for Leanne, all of you! from the moshing Chilly to the Bamfting Morgan.. and we cant forget the PUT your skin back on Kobold, and the frog haunted Healing Lizard or Magic Casting Keith, I cant even name everyone and the countless laughs they gave me <3 <3
Keepers, you all rock, the goofing off and the serious stuff too.
Kir, excellent player and character, with a kind streak a mile wide.
Star Aelae, on a mission, and will not be diverted.... not even by a fire breather Drangonari!
Gurth, excellent to catch up with him IG again, the guy is always IC, even if he does give me nightmares.
Rali, I am the luckiest player in the world with this partner in crime to bounce RP off none stop.
Drog, always the haggler, I look forward to running into him each trade-fair.
And finally lets hear it for SPIDER BOOBS! Creepy and nice at the same time? (He means Delcina -ed.)
Wait did I include skittles boy Keith?! Oi! so FANCY WICKED!
had to think long and hard about which character I wanted to vote for this month. I picked Chilly. WTG for the amazing energy.
Deckler and Mischief - digging in and doing the research! Keep going!
Nostalgia, the bundle of goodwill and worry. Your forehead is permanently going to crease that way if you keep frowning with concern!
Grandrin does not get enough raves. Ok, sometimes he misses a few key plot points, but they guy's awesome to have in a party. Utterly reliable and a nice bit of wry humor.
Naia (the one with Fang) sweet, friendly, innocent, yet somehow can point out the obvious questions everyone else is too "polite" to ask.
Lily Thayt'or - tough, angry, scary, and right now a little scared (which just makes her tougher, angrier, and scarier)
Thienna is always a quiet voice of reason and stability, with an arch wit.
Archibald can be counted on for creativity and a "just try and do it" kind of attitude.
Rylee and Marina - awwwww!!!!
Candrielle omg you are such a perfect b....
Rade is still and ever one of my absolute favorites to dungeon party with. I love the way she thinks and what she chooses to say.
Silver Fox is chillingly competent and confident. Her emotion generally sways wildly from mild disinterest to slightly sinister disinterest to you have her grudging attention. That sounds like a small swing, but if you play with her, you know those can herald profoundly different outcomes.
Tupaia is always a competent, friendly, but level headed druid. An unflappable champion of nature.
Tillie with the scars... waiting for the explosion to happen...
Glorandrea is earnestly devoted to her friends, and quick to extend her kindness to new folk.
Bobyn - I just like the character. Very polite, slightly archaic way of speaking. A good gentlegnome.
Redd and Chilly! Yikes! Someone needs to keep the sugar away from the children brownies!
Sammy Valorian - my all time favorite for rustling up parties and getting folks to get up and go and do things. Also supremely witty.
Seth, wickedest bard I know. But everyone still loves him.
Thank you to Lycanthropy, RefMinion and Scaylz for bringing me much joy this month through delightful adventures and lovely NPCs.
Tamykh has been the Partial Man of the Month for me!
Bentren is such a polite fellow, you'd let him take your daughter out...of the crypt.
Nothing is funnier than a mute Lena (Potato Girl) trying to have an in-depth conversation at a table full of Aarilaxians.
Silver Fox is so pure... evil. Don't let the friendly smile, warm welcome and caring demeanor fool you, because you're seeing things. None of those are traits possessed by Silver Fox.
Sammy often manages to rope me into some adventure where I do almost all of the killing while he "prepares spells" and "conserves his power". The smartest mage alive, everyone!
Tamykh [CUSS WORDS] and [OBSCENE GIBBERISH] with [REDACTED] and style!
Kassha is generous with his time, magic, and whatever he's spent his energy artificing this week.
Dreckler's pursuit of The Dark Beyond is interesting to see, let's hope it doesn't end badly for them! (I'm sure it'll be fine -ed.)
Naiandra is a reliable archer to have in a squad, and fun to play with.
Nostalgia continues to grow as a character, constantly questioning the actions of a complex world.
A shout for the Keepers of the Cycle, and the great group dynamic they have!
There were a number of people at the Trade Faire that made it fun to hang out on both days, DMs and players alike, and it's what makes it one of those must-attend events when it comes around.
Emick is genuinely sweet and I enjoy his awkward enthusiasm!
Alexis Dufresne Montjoie has been in kind of an impossible position recently, and I appreciate his attempts to RP around it.
Silver Fox is never not going to be funny. Despite being just the worst in every possible way, she’s played with a lot of good humor and an eye towards making sure everyone has fun. I love when she goes out of her way to be obnoxious just to cause strife.
Dreckler and Mischief continue to be a delightful double act. It’s absolutely great how committed they are to bringing other people in on their plot.
I love that you can always put a shiny red button in front of Kurn and count on him to push it. He’s great to have in a party.
Big ups to Lena, who can convey personality and mystery just with emotes. Brave, brave choice to play a mute in a text game, but it’s carried off beautifully.
Constance Drake gives good hypercompetent.
I really enjoy Drago Redclaw’s spot in the middle of the venn diagram of honorable samurai and shifty ronin.
Candrielle is a meanie and I love her for it.
I like Ishra Qiyun’s decisive, biased action.
Naelwyn Silvador is a delight. She’s feisty and kind of awful, but in a way that’s pretty understandable.
So proud of Sammy Valorian’s perseverance and his footwork.
Helmer Irongrip is lovely. He’s such a dwarfy sort of monk.
Been learning more about Fingers and it’s been delightful.
I enjoy that Redd is a hot, chaotic mess, but that he’s trying. He’s a being of endless enthusiasm.
Kynes! A wise druid he is, though quiet.
It was really nice to have a chance to come along with the Keepers, it’s a great, competent group full of interesting personalities!
Thaylis is a stand up guy.
It’s always so great to see Riva Wennen really let loose.
Tillie Rikonovich is a character constantly making the most interesting decisions and then having to deal with all their consequences. Chef’s kiss.
I love Tagnar. He just oozes Dwarf. Sometimes literally.
Moonlit Paw is cute as hell. How have I not played with him more?
Ash is a being composed entirely of bad decisions and I respect the hell out of him for it. I love his mythic relationship with death.
Gunter Smith has a cute stutter. I think it may actually have gotten worse, even as he’s gotten more confident.
Kassha Firehart has to be Avlis’s best team player. And only part of that is Mord’s Sword. That said, I love that he’s getting a little bit petty about other people’s research.
Morgan Thornheart is just a horrible person. He’s great for the sort of evil that feels grounded, even prosaic sometimes, but nevertheless wounds the entire world.
I’m so happy Moriand Dias is back. He’s always been one of my favorites- a deep, quiet character who helps everyone around him shine.
Rroth'rrei Wyhleir has been a really good foil and I’ve been so happy to have him around. Thank you, you awful, mangy dog person!

A supplemental entry appears, unstuck from where it was lodged behind the Astral Sofa...
Redd is a hoot. Fling him anywhere and he’s IN IT!
Playing with Rade is so immersive. I want more.
Thienna’s pre-wedding jitters were wonderful.
The bards this month were such a highlight. Their RP was riveting (just two examples but there were tons: In wedding: Kurn having to shift to processional music quickly, shooting Thienna a “where was my cue look”; In reception: the cigarette handoff between Seth and Rook). Bards must rock on MORE please.
Rylee and Marina = Sweetest. Love their interactions and the wedding.
Nice to have Star Aelae back. Lil’bitxh. Needing help from Rade (also love Rade) over a stream and flirting w/Ash at the trade fair were so spot on.
Dorin Belin is genuine and great!
Zwesslun’sivalkul sniffing bodies to determine their freshness - EWWWWWWWWWWW!
Farek - will stop anything for rp and I like it.
Bidding war between Fletcher and Frannie lolololol
Gurth’s revelation of his bone arm to Rali in the middle of the trade faire = priceless!
Nostalgia & Sammy together are too much fun
Ash’s solid presence and personality is so clearly detailed through his dialogue and rp - love reading his emotes
Amalea is sweet and a great addition to Avlis
Rping w/ Rook, Krek, Roly, Desde, Naia all responding to Leanne’s potion was so SO MUCH FUN! They all killed it!
Rook, “It’s like my sophomore year at the bardic academy all over again” LOLOL
Roland: “moonwalks out of the hall to spread word of Tingle”

*~Roleplayers Anonymous for February~*
eternal_time's tarot deck, as drawn by Jasfa. Sometimes the dice tell the story. And sometimes the cards are reading the DM's notes.
Ozan - Mysterious backstory, talking the good fight, lots of layers to dig through!
Timber - Even in a most dire circumstance, still keeping strong to Cha'reth's love!
Rosey - Another fun little kobold. Lots of energy and outgoingingness
Ricki - Interesting Half-ogre. The broken speech really sells the not all there vibe!
Nostalgia - When I first interacted with Nos, I always felt she had her answers to things. Now I get to see a lot second guessing and introspective thinking.
So there are sneaky PCs out there. And then there are REALLY sneaky PCs! Shadow-dancers that are hiding away right next to you and you have no idea, it does not matter what you PCs spot is, or listen. Try as you might, you just cant find them! So count yourself lucky if you happen to see them and get to RP with them. Max is one of those PCs... I am so glad I actually got to RP with him even if it was for only 30 mins or so last month.
Welcome Rosey! Your char is adorbs and fearless, and I look forward to playing with you more!
Hi Redd- I'm a fan.
Cormac Sullivan - A welcome addition to Avlis! GREAT RP! So impressed!
Callista Wayne - You wanna hide a body? Bettah work, bixx! (Ref: Brittany Spears- sorry couldn't help it)
Amalea - always down for some fun 😀
The Feshmakha crew - In it, winnin it, lovin it - what a GREAT group of players!
Lycanthropy - thanks so much for running an amazing small-group campaign that allows for wonderful rp, character growth, lore immersion, and good old fashioned DnD fun! I wish we could meet to play every day!
Kir - Sweet, kind, helpful, funny!
Glorandrea - you do Avlis a solid all … day … long!
Tor - I have so much fun when you’re around!
Max - *swoon*
Ash - *swoon*
Battle of the Bards - DO IT! (Can we have votes for an event? An event that hasn't happened yet? I'll allow it. -ed)
Lily Thayt’or - through her, her player always delivers the little things and never disappoints.
DeeDee - wow - so dry and with that, slaps her sibs into place like a great big desert giant with a Legacy slapper.
Dreckler and Mischief- There are some players (and characters!) who are engines that keep things moving, bring other people in, always react to what you give them, and stay consistently and interestingly in character. They are always essential to a living world, and Dreckler’s proving to very much be one of them.
Naiandra Sunoviel is cute as heck!
Morgan Thornheart is heartless in such a consistent and interesting way. He’s one of my favorite evil characters for both feeling really evil and being someone you can work alongside to get things done.
Rroth'rrei Wyhleir is gross and mangey and unpleasant, especially when you let him stare too long at an iron maiden, and I love him very much.
Silver Fox is very elegant and catty, without ever letting you forget she could put a hand on either side of your head and pop it like a grape. There’s a fantastic self-assurance to the character.
Bentren Motherfucking Dunbarrow! Actually, in retrospect, I probably shouldn’t have said it like that for specific reasons. I love the weasley, innocuous horror of this character. He’s someone you could believe would do anything, and you would understand his reasons and maybe even want to wrap him in a warm snuggly blanket about them, but it would still be the most awful and unnatural thing you could think of.
Lena continues to be an inspiration for her ability to convey character without a word.
I really enjoy Rade. It takes something magical to play a character who’s consistently willing to make a weird, stand-out choice, and to play scars and madness.
Hey, did you know Fingers had a literal chipmunk head cursed onto his body by Ysgard fairies and also had Dev Crit throwing axes? I, for one, learned a lot this month.
Redd is a chaotic mess and I love him dearly. He’s trying hard.
Gunter Smith and his I must have the perfect defense mindset is a fun take on Monk.
He is unfortunately not around in game, but I’ve been enjoying the letters I’ve gotten from Alexis Dufresne Montjoie. The player is a great writer and the character’s always a charmer.
Sammy Valorian energizes every moment of the game he’s around for. I’m so happy to have this throughline through all the ages of Avlis, who is always ready to help out, who always makes me laugh, and who so consistently pulls other people up into the spotlight.
Naelwyn Silvador. Oh my fucking god Nails. She’s not just grating, she’s POSH and grating and it’s amazing. Cheers to Nails.
Tagnar is such an incredibly solid block of dwarf. The dwarfiest dwarf to have ever dwarfed. Just impenetrably dense meat and refusal to acknowledge a single social grace or complicated plan. He’s perfect.
Tillie Rikonovich! Great at drama, bad at math. I love your bad choices, girl.
Riva Wennen: a beautiful dutiful mind for strategy.
Moonlit Paw of the Grieving Owl. I’m only just getting to know this character and I love the scampish opportunism and pragmatic slant.
I could fill this whole page with excellent things to say about Moriand Dias, but I want to say especially what a great leader he is, and nexus for others to move around. Quiet, competent, thoughtful, and invested in his crew.
I’ve always wanted to play more with Kynes and now I get the chance!
Candrielle continues to be shallow and vicious in the best way possible.
Fellock! Oh my god Fellock came back! Fellock has my heart forever!
Miyo Ktahr'larl is quiet but sweet and competent.
I’m proud of Timber Kins'poesy for sticking to her guns by doing a total pacifist run in a war zone.
Congratulations on your promotion, quartermaster Rikit!
I like that Garnet steps up to the plate.
A hearty cheers and a mild fuck you to Rhorek Ogrimmson for writing his entire journal in dwarvish. It hurt my head, but damn you rock. Quiet, competent, dwarfy!
Axehammer Kegbarrel, what is your name about and why are you so quietly sketchy!
Khaalid is really committed to the bit! Hang on buddy, we’ll get you being your own boss some day!
Pinion Treenail is delightfully sunny! Just the spot of brightness we need in the shadows.
I love Ash and Rali! It’s lovely to see a genuinely affectionate long term couple!
Lycanthropy's Dread Throne campaign has been very fun so far!
scalyz has been a stellar DM!
Nostalgia keeping the tempo up with Monk Mondays is appreciated as always.
Khaalid is a pretty fun and funny character!
Nostalgia has been awesome this month (she is all months), always enjoy playing with her.
Farek organized a lowbie event, complete with introductions to places and systems, with a proper amount of Hero worship. Loved it!
Please get your next set of comments in by March 31st!

*~Roleplayers Anonymous for March~*
Rhorek Ogrimmson and Axehammer Kegbarrel, names that sound like they came from a dwarf name generator, need to stop making me pull up the Dwarf Language wiki page.
Sarmanos and scalyz for their continued work on the Dark Beyond!
Lycanthropy and the Dread Throne. Can't wait for the finale for our intrepid heroes!
Alexis while not being in-game still has a presence in the letters he's written out to various people.
Nostalgia and keeping the weekly Monk evenings going.
Lily for being an all-around great character!
Bentren is always a hoot to be around, quickly becoming an Avlis all time top character!
Nostalgia is so consistently played that it feels like she's almost a real person. Love interacting with her.
Cheers Lily. I have no idea what your thoughts might be. I’ve enjoyed every minute.
Loving the whole Feshmakha crew, but with a special shout out to the journals. It's such fun to see the same events from several different characters' perspectives at once.
Timber’s commitment to keeping her hands and soul clean has been an impressive character decision, especially given the setting!
Rhorek is such a stern, stolid, taciturn brick of dwarf. He’s great to have quietly raising the average competence level of the party.
Here’s to Pinion, whose bold decision making has possibly altered the course of Dubunati history forever!
Khalid is just here to dig, man. I have so much respect for it.
Garnet is decisive and there for the group.
Axehammer is a fancy, pragmatic dwarf who believes in the power of magic.
I enjoy Rikit’s pragmatic cowardice, and his absolute frustration with unnecessary heroics.
Moriand is a genuinely good leader and a great head of a group, both as a character and a player. He’s a quiet, competent presence, and he’s always thinking about how things fit together. Top tier player and character.
It has been really lovely this month watching Naelwynn upper class it up and mystery solve. I love this awful spiky paladin.
Tagnar is such a fantastic gross dwarf. I love his low charisma antics. We should make him answer every door.
I love Ash’s big swings and frenemy relationship with death.
Kzin is a solid, consistent member of any party.
Kynes fascinates me. I know it’s not just the yoda talking, and I so desperately want to get to know him better.
Godsdamnit, Tillie, don’t touch that!
It’s funny because I know Rali was definitely around when I started playing, but I’m only really getting to know her now. She’s charming and whimsical and I really like her.
Miyo is a quiet, reliable party member, a great scout, and really wonderful for getting people together and keeping them on track.
I adore Gunter’s stutter-stop journey toward mastery and taking his place in the world. I’m excited to see what he does with the sword of Toran.
I usually talk about how Candrielle can be kind of mean, but man, this month she made an absolutely heroic gambit to get people out of trouble and she deserves all the kudos for it.
Dreckler continues to be an anchor for all sorts of stuff around Avlis, and I’m so pleased to know him.
I know Amalea was having kind of a rough night and I hope things are better for her.
I wish I’d asked more questions about Fingers earlier. He’s a crazy character.
Keith loves puzzles and it's incredibly cute.
Redd is a lunatic and I love him. He’s such a big energy character in such a small package.
I’m excited to see Krek'siss’s past come slithering back out of the swamp. Kudos to both the DM and the player.
Fletcher is genuinely funny, and I enjoy how much history he brings to things.
Tor is so willing to pull people along through combat adventures. He’s often quiet, but he’s among the first to go “hey, let’s go have an adventure” and I really respect how much he pulls other people in.
Holy shit Max is back! I missed Max so much. He’s the biggest ray of sunshine the shadows have to offer!
It’s fun to see the development of Chyjri being absolutely ready to throw down with the fey. I like this character developing grudges and raw spots.
Redwyn Ironhart is a goddamn delight. I’m so happy he’s getting Toran moving again, and I always enjoy a character played so straight they come all the way back around to hilarious.
Constance Drake. What the hell is she up to! This character’s a perfect combination of helpful and up to something.
