Congrats to all the winners :) Considering I have only been playing Avlis for a month, things like this make it a joy to play.
"Psst... hey Guido... it's all so clear to me now... I'm the Keeper of the
Cheese... and you're the Lemon Merchant... and he KNOWS... that's why he's
going to KILL us... and we have to get away before he sets loose the
marmosets upon us... DON'T WORRY LITTLE MISSY!! I'LL SAVE YOU!!"

Wow, being on that list is really an honor! I can think of a dozen others I'd put up there as well. One of the best roleplayers I've met once told me that how good of a roleplayer you are has everything to do with who you roleplay with. Thanks to all of you!

Just an idea - how about the winners of the award each month are given a special quest just for them (and anyone else they wanted to take along)?

The reward for the quest could be a special item, or perhaps this is how they gain their XP reward.

Just a thought (and not suggesting we start it until next month  ). That way the winners are rewarded with something a little bit special, rather than just a big dollop of XP (not that that isn't welcome of course!)

Congratulations Aradan and company. Plenty of people I haven't had the pleasure of roleplaying with yet or even have little heard of. Heh. Avlis is really a big place now and the sense of community much more rewarding.

Great job people and thank you for making the world a better place for us.

I made the mistake of mentioning this to my wife, and she now wants to know when I plan on winning the "husband of the month" & "father of the month" awards.

My turn to congratulate you all! I have met most of you IC and I always enjoy RPing with each one.

I am also glad that the person I voted for is one of the winners, even if he didnt mention anything about his love in his thanking speech... :(
Of course I wont reveal his name... I can only say that he is a member of OoG and a Paladin...

<Chasmania> Kiss Fuzz? I'd rather fellate a goat.

<Chasmania> there are many roads to Rome..they just picked a shit filled alley full of scabby hookers and bums.

Heh... judging from Aradan's wife's response when she heard the news he won, I am sure that news of love on-line would not go over well.

Just a quick question that came up yesterday - is it possible for a previous winner to win again? Now I'm not asking so I can go for it again ( ), but more in that I inadvertently voted for someone that had previously won (I forgot they had actually), and am wondering if that was a wasted vote.

Personally I think we should be able to vote for whoever we feel was the best roleplayer we encountered that month, but maybe others feel differently to me.

Just wondered if there had been an official ruling on this?

If I remember correctly there has been such an official ruling posted before and the answer to your question was 'yes'.

PS. And I'm not sitting in front of my PC ALL DAY!!!!

Yeah, the official ruling last time it was asked was that you could vote for someone who had previously won.

Personally, I"m a "spread-the-love-around" type that likes to see a lot of different people win, so expect me to vote for people who have not yet won.

Ok - another question. How exactly do we get the XP for this? Are our character files edited directly, or should we page a DM when we're on and ask for it poiltely?

PS I'd rather do something to earn this rather large XP amount, so if any DM sees me on and wants to run something where I "earn" the award - that would be cool :D

Any DM is authorised to give you the XP when you're online. The end-report goes to Alex.

I've a feeling that a majority of the players feel this way, which unfortunatly means that a PC that has gotten a runner-up might not ever see a first place.

Aa far as I am concerned you have already earned that exp... consider it a giant cookie for sustained good RP.
