The Father of Chaos...ya gotta love him...
...but what a pain in the arse for this one!
The problem:
Archibold Layne has been seen about Mikona, telling a tale. As it stands now, he will tell the tale IC for the entertainment of his 'live' audiences. (real & imagined) He must then rely upon his memory to tell the story in the Avlis Tavern...so in essence, he must write the story twice! Hence the pain in the posterior. Now I know there is a thread somewhere that tells one how to recover their text logs, but am far to short tempered to search for it as Im not sure what exactly it is, Im to search for. To those who wish to extend a helping hand, please be aware, I always fail my morale check when dealing with files and directories and ...well you know what I mean. Whatever it is I must do, I need real simple directions. (pictures with circles and arrows and descriptions on the back wouldn't hurt either[credit to Arlo for that line])
My second request for info, relates to how one can import text to the quickslots, that exceed the default size? As I would like to have my PC do slightly more in depth emotes to enhance his storytelling RP.
example: *as to make a point, Archibold raises his right forefinger skyward, as his voice raises several octaves)
To all who are still about this world, my thanks for any help resolving my dilemmas.
ays,
Jody

All right, Sire!
I. Logs
The simple approach:
1. Go to ... \ Neverwinter Nights \ NWN
2. Open nwnplayer.ini (i.e. with Notepad)
3. See if you can find ClientEntireChatWindowLogging=1 inside the file
4. If it is not there, type it in. If it is there but values to 0 instead of 1, change it to 1.
5. Save the file (as .ini, not as .txt)
The logs from each session will be then automatically saved as text file to: \ Neverwinter Nights \ NWN \ logs
NOTE that you will have to save them to another file each time you logout, or the previous one will be overwritten on next login!
II. Long Text Macros
1. Type whatever you wish in, say, Notepad first (or anywhere else, just make sure WordWrap is disabled).
2. Then copy it.
3. Right-click on any quickslot, pick "New Text Macro" from the radial menu.
4. The first Macro tab to appear is "Label". Give it some name.
5. The second - the one you need - is "Command", for input. Paste whatever you have copied, into the "Command" tab.
6. Give it an OK and there you go!

On the Macro emotes I am unable to paste my copied macro? It appears I cannot access the space to write in the macro.
