500 x 500
Images posted have now been limited to 500 x 500 pixels in size. Could this be raised to something more screenshot friendly?

And avatar friendly! I want everyone to see my hot avatar, but you can't read the text as it is now! FIX FIX FIX

Always consider alignment as a tool, not a straitjacket that restricts the character.

I think avatar size caps are off. You just have to turn off the 80x80 default in your user control panel. It should autodetect the size, or you can put in the right one.

I totally agree. I am having problems with this as well.DanishPastry wrote:Images posted have now been limited to 500 x 500 pixels in size. Could this be raised to something more screenshot friendly?
Also, when I look at the Screenshot thread, it seem that many of the recently posted ones are larger then 500 x 500

Me wantey! Perhaps this a 'bug' that happens when using the new Avlis Theme?

Re: 500 x 500
That doesn't sound unlikely at all depending on how deeply integrated the themes actual are with the actual process of rendering, reading, writing and submitting posts.

Re: 500 x 500
Pic size is set by the ninja in the phpBB3 admin control panel. People are already learning to use smaller pics with links to the big ones, or just the url tag instead of the img one. I have a fast connect, yet loading 25 posts on a page with half a dozen huge pics each still takes a while, especially when people don't know how to compress them.
On a side note, take a look at the file size of a pic before linking it. Not the 600x480 or whatever bit but the file size. I've seen a bunch of pics posted nearing the 1 meg mark that would look the same compressed right at 1/10th or 1/20th the file size. A 1 meg pic on dial up would be ridiculous. 100k is pushing it. If you don't know crap about compression, .bmp=bad/.jpg=good enough (for posting) and stick with a medium or lower quality setting. If you take screen shots on a 7zillionx9zillion screen, reduce the image size first too. Size does matter, and we can all zoom in.

Re: 500 x 500
Go use the Avlis Gallery that Silk so nicely set up for us. It costs you ... nothing ... for an account. When you view your album, you'll see thumbnails of your pictures; below each thumbnail is a "+" sign. Click to expand. You can now quickly copy either a BBCode link that will display the full picture in a post (won't work if it's over 500x500), OR you can quickly copy a BBCode link that will display a simple thumbnail of your pic linked to the larger size. It's easy. It's free. Any questions?
