The pak is already live on Deglos and Le'Or T'Nanshi, but I may not have time to put it live on the other servers today.

Could you post a link to the avlis.blackdagger.net page, I cannot get to it. I keeping getting a message that it is unavailable? Is this a problem on my end or something else? Thanks.

bics get emailed to me at orleron@blackdagger.com. I look through them and put them into your vault. You'll need to send me your gamespy username.

w_wolf has been kind enough to provide self-extracting files of the hack.

His post about it is the 11th or 12th post down on Page 1.

A couple of things:

Is anyone else having trouble using non-standard portraits? Whenever I use a non-standard portrait (specifically one of the kobold portraits) I get a "fatal error" message sometime before I finalize.

Also, the Spell Resistance for half-dryads and half-nymphs doesn't show up under Spell Resistance on the character sheet (it still says zero). Is that how it's supposed to be?

Spell resistance is not yet implemented for the custom races because it is not done through the same haking methods.

Also, you should not use the model appearances at the bottom of the appearance list. Stick to the standard appearances.

Actually the models aren't the problem, it's the portraits. If I use one of the "standard" portraits, I can finalize the character with no problem. But if I uncheck the "Lock to Race" and "Lock to Gender" buttons and choose another one (for example a kobold portrait) then it invariably crashes before I can finalize. It seems like this is either an issue with my computer, or maybe with the Character Creator. So I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced it.

No, that's a bug in the generator I believe. I get that too. Just uncheck them in the opposite order and it won't crash.

Hmm - been playing with CODI and have done everything I should ( I see the custom races etc ), but the extra head models don't seem to be available in CODI ( they are in my test module with the HAKs however ). Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks, I'll try that.

EDIT: Well, hmm, it still crashes, just not immediately. It always crashes when I click "Configure Packages". Weird. Maybe my computer doesn't have enough memory or something.

Btw, you can now get the Avlis hak on NWVault at http://nwvault.ign.com/Files/hakpacks/d ... 2033.shtml .

You can also start emailing me your custom race .bic files for approval and inclusion into your servervault folder.

To date, only one person has actually emailed me a custom race .bic. Anyone else interested in playing races? You won't know you're approved until you mail it in, so give it a shot.

Hehe.. I was thinking about trying out a customn race, but I will be a bit busy with my main char adjusting to her new role and duties to really find the time to devellop a new char :).
Give me two weeks, then I'll send you something.. right now, I am totally immersed in my new role :))) "Happy"

Thanks to the team for this!

Probably just missing something stupid.

I realize this response is incredibly tardy - but perhaps it might be of some utility for someone in the future..

If you're stuck with a "command line" FTP client (be it unix / linux / windoze) - and you're trying to get to a directory with a "space" in the name (e.g. "public downloads") - you need to "couch" the directory name in quotes.

If you omit the quotes around the name of the directory - the FTP protocol will balk.. Most all GUI apps append the quotes automatically - so it's not an issue.

Folks, PLEASE remember that when you send me a custom race .bic to include your GAMESPY name and BOARD name with it so I know who you are.

I got a goblin named bala-something-or-other and I have no idea who it's from. This causes huge delays in getting the character into the vault.
