What Ambrosia and Lucidic have been up to (and a birthday surprise ask)

Post by Ambrosia » Fri Jun 20, 2025 2:10 pm

Hey all!

Quick update for those interested in what we have been up to in 2025!
(okay, maybe not super quick for those who know how badly I need an editor some days. oo8) )

Given all the crazy currently happening in.. well.. *gestures everywhere* Lucidic has elected to devote himself full-time to developing his own game (he's been planning for the last decade) and putting out something super positive and friendly out into the world. The main thing holding him back from developing his ideas was art assets, as he's a programmer not an artist, so when Maple Story Worlds announced their new Creator Circle to help game devs lauch their own games, he was thrilled, as their art style matches the vibe of his game excellently. He applied for their underwriting support and, along with only two other game developers so far, was accepted into the program!

In November of 2024 Lucidic launched Everel (a play on words with the French 'To Dream') and has been consistently expanding his Dream World and adding features regularly ever since! My personal favorite feature of Everel is his unique 'encouragement' feature. When you 'encourage' another player, you group up with them in a way that allows you to move faster, earn skills together, unlock features together, explore together, as well as tether you together so you never get separated! Also, the player who is in 'encouragement' mode flies full time, which makes it easy for even players like grandparents or young kids or anyone else not super comfortable with "gaming" can still play with their friends or family members and don't have to worry about being left behind. You could even litterally let go of the controls and be pulled around by the main player if you need (as one of the grandpa's did when his hands hurt and he still wanted to play with one of the grandkids. :liebhab: ) The system unlocks everything the main player unlocks for anyone who is encouraging them too, so there's no need to split rewards or any of that. Everyone just plays and has fun!The whole world of Everel is an adventure centered around inspiration, creativity, and encouragement.

I love how positive of a vibe the whole world has. There's even a book nook where we add occasional stories to experience, with story-related items to earn. Because of course there has to be stories. 8-) It is free to play, which usually turns people off; however, Lucidic and I also loath the main reasons F2P games have a bad rap, so he has specifically designed the game where you can obtain all features in game and never have to buy anything if you don't want or there is a store you can go buy things at if you want, but nobody is ever forced to even visit the store if they don't wanna. :D

Which brings me to my ultimate point: To Invite YOU to please check out Everel, even if just for 5 minutes, and leave an Up-Vote. It would mean the world to us. And I mean that literally.

The main metric Nexon uses to continue to support the games being developed in their Creator's Circle is how POSITIVE people have RATED the game. Everel was at 93% positive ratings until April 1, when a large group of "pranksters" decided to mass-downvote all the games in the Creator's Circle at the same time. In a matter of hours, Everel's rating plummeted to 40%. It was really disheartening. We were physically ill for a few hours. Nobody wants to play a game rated 40%. It was a cruel prank.

Nexon removed 9 votes that they determined were done by bots; however, that wasn't anywhere near enough to repair the damage done by the group. As we have slowly picked up players, we have slowly climbed back up to 63%; however, we really need to get the game back up over 70%, preferably over 80 so we have some breathing room. The only way I know how to fix the fallout from April First is to invite all my friends and family to at least try out the game and leave us an up-vote.

July 3rd is Lucidic's Birthday and I am on a mission to see if I can find enough people willing to vote for his game to get us back up to 70% for his group birthday present from all of us. I believe that is a very easy ask. It costs nobody anything except a little bit of time and yet is the best birthday present we can give to Lucidic this year and it, quite literally, puts food on the table for us and our kids. If you join our Discord server, I am absolutely willing to hop in and join you or can be available to answer any questions. Lucidic runs the Discord server so he is also available for questions. He is also fairly active in answering Dev questions for other MSW game devs, so if you are into building your own world and need his advice, he is willing and available. And, of course, you're welcome to play anytime you want! :D

Thank you for considering and reading this far!

Much Love,

Amby
