We've hit the 500 mark, and I can see that during a weekday at normal North American daylight hours we have about 7 or 8 people online all the time.
That's about 1% of the total applications, which sounds about right with the predictions I made earlier. Sure, the non-password servers have 20 people on all the time, but what kind of people are those 20? Surely not the great roleplayers we have here!
I'm setting our sights on our next goal: 1000 applications. Figure that if we have processed 1000 apps, we will have double the number of people playing during off peak hours: maybe around 15. That would make the world a lot busier. During peak hours, we may even start to hit 35, if we've got 1000 apps.
Not bad numbers if you ask me. First impressions are important, and there are far too many people who don't play ever again because of first impressions. There are also a lot of people who just don't have the time. But aside from these people, I think we can find a lot of regular players. It's a game of statistics. All we can do is work to tweak the statistics by having good updates/improvements.
