GUILD DM EVENT MIKONA SATURDAY 22/10 1600 GMT
This is an announcement to let you all know that there will be a guild DM event on the Mikona server Saturday 22/10 at 1600 GMT.
It would be greatly appreciated that players who are not involved with this event DO NOT log into the server until the event is over to avoid lag.
I will post in this thread when the event has finished
Thankyou for your cooperation and respect for the enjoyment of your fellow players.

But but but.....That's blasphemy
. Dragon mountain is in the M'Chekian wilderness we can't have the dragon relocate to Le'Or, there's way too many trees for our Master to land
. And Kuras.....well....with 10-15 members attending it would be rather expensive to book a roundtrip to Kuras, not to mention it's a long way for the Dragon to fly (won't fit on a ship)

The only time that announcements like this are made are when there are DM events involving a lot of players. The event may not even be related to a guild. The reason for making these announcements is to avoid the server lagging heavily and thus creating an unplayable environment for all involved. These announcements are made at the discretion of the DMs. Sometimes no announcement is made at all, it all depends on the number of players involved.
Players cannot reserve a server.
I hope this answers your question.
Any other questions not related directly to this guild event can be asked here:

Anyone who was in Mikona last Saturday, when we had a player's speech (where 30+ people showed up, and were all in the same area) followed by two simultaneous DM events (one guild, one non-guild) will tell you that warning people in advance of such events is a good thing. My one-hour event took 4 hours to do. The event involved absolutely zero combat - just players talking to NPCs. Lag was horrid, and I crashed out at least seven times (I stopped counting after that). It must have been just as bad, if not worse, for both the players involved in the events and those who were unaware and logged onto Mikona to find it in the Tenth Hell, better known to us as Lag Hell.
In other words, what Moth said - hearing in advance about an event on a server helps to make sure everybody has a fun time and that nobody gets trapped in that Tenth Hell.

If you think lag is bad as a player, try the DM client.
It's ~much~ worse, up to the situation where it gets near impossible to continue an event properly.
Do you want your DM to crash out and not being able to reconnect due to lag, while his buffed uber monster gets out of control and annhiliates your whole party?
Bear with us folks, we are not doing this to spoil your fun, we just try to coordiante it so that all can enjoy the game.
