Heads Up - Tree work

Post by PlasmaJohn » Tue Sep 20, 2005 2:18 pm

The township decided to remove a ~massive~ tree on my curb. The cable that provides our Internet service runs through that tree. Therefore, if they goof, we may lose the game servers until a repair can be made. They're mostly done, so we should be ok :D

Let every Nanshi ranger / druid file a complaint they might stop the work.

*sobs* Where is the druid in you? Don't let them cut down a tree! Quickly tie yourself to the branches closest to the cable/phone lines and paint on your tee-shirt "trees have rights too"

Be a ranger! Lay traps around the base of the pole and stand there with a bow and arrow aimed at the head of the guy in the bucket. ... this is sure to draw attention from the crew, the neighbors, a wandering bard to tell your tale, and even the EDF (you can tell them apart from the crowd they wear patches now and carry little objects with them that make noise).

P.S. stay atleast 20 feet from any electrical lines. no kidding, they can kill you even when you are close by and not touching them.

disclaimer: don't try this at home; druids and rangers are professionals.

EDIT: And fingers crossed too!

Heh, lessee.

You want me to save the monster that cost me US$15,000 in a replacement sewer line and covers my yard in the fall with several thousand maple leaves? And being a swamp maple, has a tendency to shed 1000lb limbs on a whim.

Um, think I'll look the other way on this one

For a D.P.W (Department of Public Works) they actually look like they're going to do this right, they've got a stump grinder.

Now that the tree is being cut down no unforseen mages will shoot a random lightning bolt and cause the tree to fall and nock out the cable line/internet connect.

Where I grew up, there's a tree on the highway north that grew up around a water pipe, such that the pipe sticks horizontally out of the tree, about a metre above the ground. There's a swift creek nearby, and the water from the creek gets pumped (at least, I assume it's pumped) up through that pipe, 24/7. It's very nifty, it looks like the tree's peeing. But what delicious, crisp pee, when the glacial runoff is flowing!

Mr Meanie... er Greenie ...er ... whoever...
You forgot about all those twirly-bird seed pods that drop from that damnable maple... so tiny they are near impossible to pickup... rakes dont do it... bare hands even a hard time... maybe a pair of tweezers... oh but somehow they end up in your home's carpets and stuck all over your car windshield. grrrr. ((ROFLMAO))

Fekk that!

Have every Nanshi ranger/druid attack them without mercy! they will be in no condition to continue working. Of course if there were ACTUALLY Nanshi druids around, or any Nanshi, at all, then this plan would be more likely to work than it actually is. :P But hey, it's a thought! (my thoughts sometimes have an angry/demented twist to them *shrugs* )
