Oh oh....... I remember the last time that happened :?
I'm doing the updating this time, and am taking my time to make sure its not buggy.

Unfortunately, this may mean that the haks wont be ready until Tuesday, rather than Monday, as I had originally estimated. You may have noticed my world has been down... I've been using it as the testbed.

I have just done a fresh install and therefore had to upgrade to 1.62. I went and got the downgrade patch but as others have mentioned nothing is happening when I put the patch in, except the start screen is in an infinite loop, update/close restarts the screen....but never changes the version.

Can this be done manually?

Oh just read Them message....maybe I'll wait...one day

Then I'll see if this fixed the other problem or I just reformat my hard drive

The main problem I see when people have errors is when they unzip the revert patch file. Make sure you put it in the installed directory for NWN as well - default is C:\NeverwinterNights\NWN. The patch utility requires that the file stay in it's zipped format to function correctly.

didnt unzip it.

Installed it to C:\NeverwinterNights\NWN, installed it to C:\NeverwinterNights

Unzipped it and tried again.

Nothing worked. I'll try and delete it again and redownload it tonight. But I dont have a good feeling.

Any idea on why the server is going to upgrade to 1.61?

I've said already.
I originally had planned to have the haks ready for Avlis to do their converting on Monday.
It is now Tuesday, and they are not quite ready.
I am hoping to finish them by this evening.
While I had plenty of time to do the haks in the past, I've actually been busy lately. So just bear with me. Remember that PAID companies take longer to do things than we do. I'm not paid for anything. I do this for fun. And this is one of the least fun jobs.

Yup no worries Themicles. We all have waited very patiently for this. I've seen little to no begging crying moaning complaining about it taking to long. I think everyone on Avlis is well aware that these things take time and I think I speak for everyone when I say we all appreciate the hard work you guys are doing! Keep it up and I look forward to the updates!

Not complaining bud :D

Just figured if it was going to be today then I wouldnt worry about trying to fix my problem.

If its going to be tomorrow or the next day and I still cant get the downgrade to work then I'll probably wait...uninstall/reinstall is a pain in the ass

If it going to be a while still then I'll put up with the pain :?

We all appreciate the effort you're putting in. :D

Good news at 9:46pm Eastern is that I am 99.99% sure that I've finished the new version of the Universal Hak. Just have some more testing to do.
Next, I need to finish the CoPaP Hak. That shouldn't take much longer.

My current work on the hak paks is done.
They are awaiting publish to the FTPs.

THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT AVLIS IS UPDATED.
DO NOT UPDATE UNTIL THE AVLIS TEAM ANNOUNCES THAT ITS UPDATED.

With that said.

There were a number of head fixes that need to be noted.
NO custom head will override HotU heads anymore.
NO head will have the wrong textures anymore.
ANY character that got its head switched over the last hakpaks is NOT a bug with the heads. It IS a result of the head fixes. It WILL require an edit of the character file to fix.

Thanks for all your work on this Themicles, and the thoroughness with which you've tested the changes. We all appreciate the lengths you've gone to to bring us this!

Avlis still needs to do their own testing as well.
They need to make sure the haks work with their modules.
Now... I just have to track down and squash a serious crash bug with my server (not related to the haks as far as my testing shows).

well you were thought full to give a time estimate, now i wonder if the Avlis people could do the same?

So? how long do you think it will be before the server is fully upgraded and the hakpacks nad the universal pack is online and ready to be down loaded?

Not from the team... BUT... given what I've read so far, and assuming there are NO issues with Avlis Haks, I bet they have it up within a week. Some modules earlier as they test. That good for you?
