Do NOT upgrade to Bioware patch 1.67 yet

As you may have heard, Bioware has released the beta 1.67 patch. Avlis uses the 1.66 patch.

If you upgrade to 1.67, you will not be able to play on Avlis servers, until Avlis upgrades!!!!

Thanks everyone!

Usually there is a reverse patch on the Bioware site, failing that, a critical rebuild. Look around there for more help.

Good luck :) .

It's only in Beta.

Why would you want to DL it anyway unless you are playing a guinea pig for Bioware??

No worries, all fixed up and fine. I actually backed up before I upgraded. So...

If anyone wants to revert then he needs the critical rebuild 1.66 ftp://ftp.infogrames.net/neverwinter_au ... Update.exe

There does not seem to be a revert patch as of yet.

those script commands sound cool :D
# GetCreatureWingType()
# SetCreatureWingType()
# GetCreatureTailType()
# SetCreatureTailType()
# GetCreatureBodyPart()
# SetCreatureBodyPart()

# GetPortraitId()
# SetPortraitId()
# GetPortraitResRef()
# SetPortraitResRef()
It only misses SetDescription()

Well, you're actually not only a guinea pig for us, we also do these betas to give the community time to update their modules and to report issues that the patch might be creating with their modules or servers that are not apparent to our QA when they are testing the official modules.

NWN was released 2002, we're in 2006 now - obviously, while the Live Team is quite alive and kicking (a lot with this patch), the internal QA resources dedicated to NWN are not of the same size anymore they were back before the game was released.

As such we are very much interested to have as many people from the community as possible participating in testing the beta patch because it results in a better play experience for everyone in the end.

That said, if you update to the beta patch, you won't be able to play on this server. You would have to uninstall the patch after trying it out.

Some of the most useful feedback will likely result from the server operators and module scripters updating their modules and reporting the results on the official boards.

That would be quite a waste of bandwith. There is a revert patch available on the patch download page, if you want to uninstall the beta.

If you have further questions regarding the beta, please check here:

regards and happy gaming

Hiya Georg. Kind figured you'd be the one to post here if any BioWare guys ever did at all. :)

I'll be setting up a test copy of my Tairis'nadur server either late tonight, or sometime tomorrow. I'm the hakmaster for the CoPaP, so it's in my best interest to get a jump on the 2da work. :)

Welcome to Avlis. Submit an anonymous app, play anonymously. (That is, if you aren't already hidden in our midst somewhere) I'm sure you'll enjoy it. :)

For those who desperately do want to try out the new patch goodies: duplicate your NWN installation, and update one of them.
So much fun,
yet so little time to enjoy it.

You don't for Avlis, but some may also play on other servers who -DO- upgrade, or play SP-Campaign, or have their own mod they are upgrading, or...or...well you get the idea... so please don't make it sound like playing guinea pig for Bioware is a silly thing. It's what delivers us good patches after all. Aah, see George's post answering you...

And ehm...if you really need to express your opinion like this, please don't sign it with Michael K. 8)

Cheers,

Michael Kolmer. ;)
