Le'Or T'Nanshi gets a makeover (and a new hak)

Post by Orleron » Sat Nov 22, 2003 7:08 am

Recently, the tree city hakpak by geekgirljess was upgraded. The tree city of Le'Or T'Nanshi will look much much better with this upgrade that includes canopies that go between all the spaces of the platforms, so it actually looks like you're in a treetop environment. You can download the hakpak, TreeCity_2, from our site. You will also need a new copy of CoPaPHak1_0 for this to work properly. If you are having trouble downloading, you can try on the Vault:

http://cgi.nwvault.ign.com/dtracker.cgi ... City%2Ezip

This will suffice until someone can mirror this download for us to curb the traffic. Remember you won't be able to enter Le'Or T'Nanshi until you get this hakpak.

* AvlisUniversalAndCoPaPHaks.exe has been updated. I suggest you get "CoPaPHak1_0.rar" instead, since it's much smaller than the installer.
* AvlisLeOrTNanshi.exe has been updated to include the new treecity tileset.
* AvlisCustomContent21.exe includes both updates.

Do I get a price for the fast update :-) ?

I'm also a little confused on the wording there. All I did was download the new treecity hak via the link and i got into LeOr just fine.

On behalf of all us poor schmucks with a 56k dialup connection, can I ask you to make clear what is the minimum we need to get back on to that server?

For some of us, downloading a 177Mb HAK is not really an option. I certainly don't want to do it if it proves unnecessary. By the time I have downloaded that much, I will be back at work on Monday anyway.

At least it solves the problems with the Custom Character Golem - I will not be seeing him again this weekend

Uhm, was my wording really this unclear ? Ok, here goes:

You do not need the installers if you have downloaded the hakpak from nwvault. They are just there for you convenience!

First, the custom content installers come in different flavours, on the one hand one for each server and on the other hand a huge file (178Mb) that contains everything. As Orl posted above, LeOr got updated, so you need to get the installer for LeOr. Of course, since the huge file contains the files for LeOr too, I needed to updated that one also, but you do not need to download it. It's for the new guys that need everything.

Second, CoPaPHak1_0 got updated, as Orl posted above. So the custom installer that contains this hak has also been updated, BUT: since that installer also contains another huge hakpak which has not been updated, I'd rather download the small .RAR file that contains only the changed file.

I hope this clears things up, even if there is not really any new information in this post.

The download section [portal.php?getpage=hakpaks] also contains information on this subject.

Thanks Pap.

Currently downloading the LeOr file from the Vault. Only about half and hour to go. Then, I will try the CoPAP one

Now this is another file that I need right ? Is it the 100kb file in the Downloads section ?
I know I know ... .But I just can understand what you're trying to say .. sorry

OK, I have the TreeCity2 file from the Vault.

The CoPAP one does not work. It will not download. It does not seem to be mirrored yet. Is it just too busy, or is there a problem please?

EDIT: - The FTP connection does not work today either

I think the FTP is hosed with the number of requests it is getting. This can happen when many people try to log into it at once. I can't get in either.

EDIT: This means the mirrorsite hosters can't get to it either in all likelyhood, so it wouldn't be mirrored, no. The Europe mirror is set to update about now (automatic update), but it probably won't succeed if the server is too busy.
So much fun,
yet so little time to enjoy it.

Thanks Sindol - I was just going to add the point about the Mirrors. You got there just before I did

If anyone managed to get hold of it, could they please host it or send it to someone who can?

I can now login to LeOr - not sure what effect it will have without the CoPAP update. I would prefer not to risk it.

I wasn't able to hit that NWVault link for some reason, but this seemed to work:

http://nwvault.ign.com/Files/hakpacks/d ... 7399.shtml

I put the .erf file in the NWN/texturepacks directory, and the .hak in the NWN/hak directory.

I really like the new look, though the stuff below the boards don't look quite natural.(Looks more like there's mold/moss growing on the planks...)

The new look to Le'Or looks ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! Seriously, whoever was responsable for this change needs some major Kudos. Well done! :D

Just checked out the new Le'Or hak. It looks great! The tree tops look fantastic. You really feel as if you're in a city in the trees. Well done!

Looks good, boss. The underside of the platforms have a green mold/bark skin on them now insted of looking like rows of planks. A much cooler effect.
