The whimsical ways of Gann, he is more then he seems. Like a big brother of chaos, but a sturdy shoulder and accessory when needed. Bold, beautiful, carefree - These are what he is, after being forced to have a bath.
This has been the year of Jessie Morris, he has come, gone and kicked some ass. Even though he has grown apart from my character, I admire his story, his suffering and his happiness.
Ronan has consintantly be imerersed and involved in everything of interest this year, playing a subtle game of newcomer versus power figure. Kudus *claps*
Harmon has a sword, I think. Suberb, and missed. Come back!!
Taruma is a delight who understands that less is more.
The acid tongued Violet mage is in a class of her own. *Lilliana*
It was a big year for Champions and its all due to the Champion with the indentations at the bridge of his nose from all that pinching. *Cole*
Bymund never fails to brighten my game day when he's on
Gann - what a fabulously filthy Red Mage. I've enjoyed all my interactions with him throughout the last few months, and I look forward to many more! I also very much appreciate his sharing of knowledge through his lectures and discussions with him. However, part of me wishes he would get a good night's sleep and a bath, though. Please Gann. Please get some sleep. And a nice bath with lots of soapy bubbles.
Vastin - another mage nomination (there are too many damn mages!). I don't claim to know that much about the mage world, but Vastin makes it a place of wonder and consideration with his approach to his own studies. I've immensely enjoyed discussing either negative energies or vivisections with him recently. All... theoretical, of course.
Ronan has been doing a -ton- of work in the world this year!
Taruma has been singularly interesting as a character this year, as well as being the cause of interesting developments for a number of the characters around her. She has been played with subtlety and generosity, such that it has been an OOC joy to interact with her, irrespective of the IC reservations certain of my PCs may have held.
It feels very much as if Lilliana Be'letane has finally come into her own this past year. From her engaging public lectures on elementalism, to her active leadership within the Violet Order, to her growing (and well earned) reputation as a purveyor of weapons-grade dressings down, Avlis as a whole is perhaps finally getting to find out why some of us have been fans of the character for years.
Gann is so much fun, fabulously played and always welcoming. What more could you ask for?
Lilly...she is witty, sharp and a perfectly played superior mage. I adore playing with her.
Elradra is a woman who is not afraid to give uncomfortable answers, and someone who's really thought about being a palemaster.
Gann Eider is so delightfully scuzzy.
2014 was the Year of Lilly. Hide your copper! Cancel that mountaineering trip! A tiny, acid-tongued mage has been busily teaching Aeromancy, researching forbidden magic, publishing books, writing religious screeds and always, always making people laugh. One of Avlis' finest, most consistently-played, and under-appreciated characters.
Taruma is one of Avlis' finest ever priests, let alone priests of Forian. Not only because the character herself is so amusing, nor that she's such a refreshing take on one of Avlis' more maligned faiths, but because she's always pushing the characters around her to new heights; to be Taruma'd is to be made to consider one's own character's beliefs, motivations and personality quirks. She's always a catalyst for excellent times.
DIE NITHLINGS !
I think I loved Harmon Hull more than any other character when he was around, and I miss him terribly. Strong, tragically brief presence this year.
Though he's not on the ballot, I think Jacksen Aiken deserves a fucking standing ovation. He's a great character, and one of those great types who makes everyone in the group better just by being there.
Jessie Morrice is a delightful madman and seems very popular with the ladies. He's also very dexterous with little emotes and turns of phrase that make him feel like a rounded person, not just armor and spells.
There is more to Vaako than a quick mouth and lose daggers, though those things certainly characterizes him too. He occasionally expresses a kind side you would not expect.
Givy really is the epitome of kindness. She acts as that little voice in your head telling you what is morally wrong and right for the Blackhawks and the Dagathians.
I only actually met Koral Arns once this year, but he was such an interesting remort character I went back and read his journal. Fun guy.
I'm often a social coward myself, and that's part of why it's such a joy to watch Lilliana Be'letane rip into people who cross her, who question her, or who just flat out don't yet realize how stupid the thing they've just said is. She's a breath of burning fresh air.
Narwe's been a fun character to puzzle out- someone who behaves beatifically but seems oriented toward something altogether darker and more complicated.
Ronan Ceril is a charming, debonaire sort of villain. Good for him.
Law and Order for Black Hawk Army *Kara*
Gann, the constant experimenter, doodler of chalkboards and keeper of chickens.
Jessie, for giving into temptations and walking a fine wire.
Lilly does it right, old school. She scathes, she teaches, and she keeps her inestimable wits about her no matter how dire the scene. Plus, she loves the woods and walks on the beach. What more could you want?
Tybalt because, well he always manages to defy every expectation of him. Either by not being as creepy as quite as Ronan or as cynical as other Ebonys out there. Not to mention always have to love the goofy grin that makes you think of cartoons.
Bymund well there is no accurate way to ever fully appriciate his wonderfulness and jabberjaw self with his quick speech that always makes you think and laugh.
Gann, you filthy, self-immolating nerd, you make my day every time and loving the details. Cheers for sticking to your guns all year long and managing, somehow, to fit into the world despite yourself.
With Kara at your back no enemy will ever reach you in full health, killing them then becomes a matter of hitting them once.
Getting hurt is hard to do when Givy is around. There must be either a lot of lag or you must be very unlucky.
Ronan has had such a major impact on my characters life. There is so much depth to his character. I enjoy every minute I get to rp with him.
Tybalt...I love his goofy grin.
Tor Varson has been a surprisingly good time to hang around more often than not.
Tybalt Rasul fascinates me. There's so very many things going on with this guy, from a past that appears to have been headed in an entirely different direction, to a complicated romance, to an understated, composed, but interesting personality.
Vastin Dermane. I think I used up my good comments about him all those times I voted for him for RPer of the month, so. Yeah. That guy. Funny and sinister. Delightful. Also, apparently, making very poor acting choices.
Wyll, Wyll, Wylliam Fell.
This year's champion? Time will tell.
Breezy and boozy and bragging as well
Neat and sweet and sometimes swell
How many times have we hear him yell
"What could go wrong?" - Indeed, what the hell?
(though he hides neath the bed when work rings on the bell)
Been gone for a while, though, what befell
The talented talespinner Wylliam Fell?
Taruma is one of the most refreshing Forianites since Eef.
Intellectual discussions with Vastin have gone from headache-inducing babbles to mind blowing theories.
Kara showed grit and determination all throughout the year in her roleplay.
Givy was awesome this year. Enough said.
Thorfinn has got through more changes this year , then nearly all. Forever he is consistant, and a true living hero of Avlis.
*votes for Ronan and Cole* It was the Champion in the library with the Necromancer. *nodnod*
Inspirational *Kara Kalinor*
Bymund F*%$K%ING Leaf I want to make t-shirts with this dude on them. So much baddass crammed into such a tight package. "GOT LEAF?". No... no... "GOTLEAF!?!??!!?!" ohhellyeshigotleaf.
Thorfinn Haussellkiff. A staple of southern avlis RP. Always there. Always consistent. The solid base upon which everybody else builds off, whether in the army (good on him for retiring), or as his friends, or as a general reference by which to gauge your social naughtiness. He needs to get his hands dirty more often, but there's always 2015 for that.
Tor Varson. Did anybody see him punch Geris Grey in the face? Who does that? Only characters of inscrutable consistency! Vote ++ for his hmms, his standing on that little rock outside the Stag, that bigass axe, his unselfconscious sense of style, and his single handedly putting ice bears on the endagered species' list. Every time Tor logs in, I smile.
Everytime I see Vaako, I think of a blender. I love his blackhawks RP (they get honorable RPoTY mention), his general attitude and his personality. He's a favorite.
I think I'd have liked to have voted for half the list. Wyll and Lilliana are both not only funky roleplayers but they've each had a lasting effect on my character and my own attitude towards the game. So they get my vote.
I want to mention Geris Grey. I can't believe he's not on this list, but he deserves to be. Man, is there anything that guy cannot Annihilate? Seriously! My absolute hero.
Wait.. What? what do you mean I can't vote for Geris?????
