The Game Server migration is now completed.

The dns for world.avlis.org has been updated with our hosting provider, but may take the next 24 hours to update. If you know how to flush your dns cache settings you could try that and see if it is updated. Alternatively, if you use the server direct connect options to connect to Avlis by ip, the new ipaddress is:

198.101.12.59

All server ports remain the same.

If you run into any problems, feel free to send a pm to the Staff Group, pm the AvlisWebAdmin account, jump in irc and chat with others, post here, or use the TeamSpeak channel if someone is on.

On Sunday night, starting at 8pm EST, (Monday 17th 00:01 GMT) Avlis will be moving server hosting.

1) What does this mean?

There will be an Avlis outage for several hours while the existing servers are taken down, and the existing vault, database and other data is backed up and transferred over to the new servers. This also includes the Alpha server.

2) How do I connect to the new servers when they are ready?

The world.avlis.org dns entry will be updated but may take 24hrs or so to replicate around the internet. You will be able to change your server details and use the new ip address directly if you prefer. The new information will be as follows:

198.101.12.59 world.avlis.org

198.101.12.254 public alpha ip (not sure what other worlds use as dns for this if anything but this is the ip they will need for alpha)


Anything that has occurred on the new hosting while it has been in a testing phase the last two weeks will not be saved.

From such time, this will be the true Avlis.

I assume it is basically Midnight Saturday in GMT, i.e. tonight

Not too sure if that is the time the old ones are taken down or the time the new ones come up

Let's assume that by Sunday around Breakfast time all will be well and running in the new location.

The calendar entry should be right and reflect your local timezone. One way to check if it is set correctly is compare your local time to what the forum time says. The old servers will go down and offline on Sunday night US time eastern or early monday morning gmt. I think the initial post is off a day.
