Ok I know about the me too thing but I'm no computer geek so if the connection isnt flawless I'm screwed. And I get an error saying

530 This user is logged in the maximum number of times allowed.

Since this is only the second time I've logged into the FTP site....WTF!

And how can I get these, soon to be mandatory, files?

Manuel, can you put them on the downloads page?

Cheers

yeah, this is almost more of a hassle than its worth till SOU starts affecting the servers I play most on. Since I've never done anything else other than click on a link to download something, it was a bit annoying to have to spend 30 mins reading stuff on the internet to figure out what the heck FTP was and how to use it.

Well, it was a well-paid 30 mins since I did manage to snag the COPAPhak, the smallest of the files to be downloaded. The Universal Hak was a 3 hour download which I might wait till Monday today, my DSL shoudl be back up.

ftp://avlis.blackdagger.net/public%20downloads/hakpaks/

Just follow that link on your browser and dig up the files.

The reason you're getting that error is because your logging in as user 'anonymous'. This is also true if using a web browser. Chances are that the max number of anonymous users has been reached as people are trying to download these rather large files and it takes a while.

The other possibility is that the FTP server is just hosed. 8 )

Anyway, since the files are on the same network as where the Avlis NWN servers are housed, my creating a link to them wouldn't help. Sorry, my friends.

Hmmm at this time of night!

Ok I guess I'll try periodically over the course of the next few days....until I can't log in anymore :(

BTW of course I'm logging in as anonymous....what other choice is there!@!

When I hit the webpage above, I was prompted for anything, it just brought me right into the downloads directly, no username, no password, no anonymous crap, no nothing. Don't ask me why.

Just started working for me too. I'll leave that FTP slot open for someone else. Get'em while they're hot.

You should be able to get the hapaks here (using HTTP):

http://195.169.215.21/cgi-bin/avlis.py

I am still downloading the last couple of files, but they should be added as soon as they are finished. I haven't tested any of them though.

Ok, just because i'm a real n00b when it comes to computers and updates:

i downloaded the four files mentioned in the first post, but i have two questions...

* Where does the content of each rar-file go (which directory)?

* Do i have to delete/move any old files? And if yes: which files?

Thanks!

@ Mickey: .rar is a packing format like zip. You have to unpack them first, using a program like winrar.

After you do that, just unpack them all in a temporary directory. You will find a text document named readme.txt detailing where all files unpacked go.
So much fun,
yet so little time to enjoy it.

Okidoki...i know the RAR-principle, but didn't know there were readme's inside...figured if i unpacked and overwrote something something might get wiped...TNX!

I would suspect that the FTP went down along with the servers due to the power outage across the eastern united states

But you have to keep Avlis.hak & UniversalHak.hak in the HAK folder until ALL servers have been changed to SoU right?

We have a new option for the lazy people :)

The installation program "AvlisCustomContent20.exe" contains ALL of the custom content and takes care of the installation process for you. It's on our FTP server in the "public downloads" directory (filesize: 148 MB).

Right. Best not to delete the old haks until we've been running the new ones on all servers for a little bit, just in case.
