Important announcement

8 years, 5 months, 6 days... that is how long I have been with Avlis, and of that about 80% has been as a team member.
I have long maintained that I would be here until we turned the lights out, and I still plan to...
However with a new job that is kicking my butt, graduate school and attempting to be a daddy and husband the one thing that I have not had time for is Avlis.
This is not a decision that I have made lightly, and I have been agonizing over it for some time. I have probably waited too long to make this decision out of a sense of duty, but now I have come to the point that I feel it is time for someone else to take over, someone who can bring a fresh energy to the role and provide the leadership that Avlis deserves and allow me to step down in good conscious.

With out further ado, I want to announce that the new World Leader is TripleAught!
This change is effective immediately and I will still be around as TA has asked me to remain as an advisor for now, and the FOIG board (of which I will remain a member) has voted and approved this change.

I want to thank you for all of your support over the years and ask that you give TA all of the support that you have given me.

Alex, all the hard work you did over the better part of a decade is so appreciated. This place wouldn't have been what it is without your diplomacy and solid contributions in all the other areas. As someone who vacated the same position largely due to a job and kids also, I know exactly where you are at. It's a fun place to be! Enjoy it.

TripleAught is no stranger here and has already contributed a huge amount of work over many years. I'm glad to see you get this position. Keep it up.

For me, the bottom line is to see this place survive and keep going, as it is doing quite well. Game on.

Oh neat. Alex, you've been needing a break. I can't believe you were doing everything you were doing and doing it while doing the things that needed to be done on top of it all.

TripleAught is a fun guy. Met him a few times and every time I didn't second guess the guy, really wears his heart and smile on his sleeves.

Family is always the most important. Leaving Avlis is tough, but sometimes it's the right choice.

This whole single father thing is a lot of work.

I just realized it's been like 4 years since I retired from Avlis. Time flies. Since then I've been cutting out even more extra-curriculars.

I was reading tonight about character builds for Pathfinder, and reading through spell lists gave me fond memories of spellhooking, so I thought I'd stop by and see how things are going.
