Heh. Turns out I suck at waiting too, and I even had a draft word doc of it. Oh well, a draft, a pdf and a hard copy ensure that I'll always have one handy.

Now where did I put that dagger and my plane tickets...?

Reading mine now.

One small point - I can't find any mention of Avariel. Did I miss them or are they not included? :?

Avariel are not a huge part of the pnp version. They are listed in the Complete Book of Elves, 2nd Edition.

Hope you all enjoy!

Please, if you can, take a minute and put up a review at paizo.com, and here:

"Avariel" is also a trademark or copyright or something of Wizards of the Coast/Hasbro, since it's from the Forgotten Realms campaign setting.

Same reason behind the Vasharan were renamed to Adomkuro. Vasharans are in the Book of Vile Darkness, iirc.

And wemics to aryhens, dracon to shaardan, etc. :D

I'd say if you want to play an avariel in an Avlis pnp campaign, nothing's keeping you from doing so. Use the same stats as an Avlissian elf, but then add non-functional wings. Or if you're DMing, you can make up any races or stats you want to. It's PnP!

Avariel are listed in the Complete Book of Elves, 2nd Ed.

They are not in the sourcebook because no god on Avlis actually created them, whereas for wemics, vasharan, etc., some god actually did.

Sure, if you buy 150+ copies of the book so I can recoup the $4k I spent on making it, I'd be happy to after that.

Just to be clear, Orl did exactly as I wanted, plus some. I wanted him to use the artwork for free, no artwork credits required. He went an extra step and mentioned me in the book, which was completely unnecessary, ... but nice.

I have enough money. I work for satisfaction, and it's satisfying to see this book in print!

Bought the PDF. It's fabulicious! (Shush, spellchecker!)

But due to the file size, the website needs some time to process it before you can start downloading. So when it tells you to "Check back in a minute", it actually means ten...

I suck at writing reviews... Spent an hour and only came up with 7 lines of text :(

At least it's showing up on front page now  They should set up a product image for the PDF. Attracts more customers in my experience.

Still, I really appreciate the reviews.

Also I added a product image. For some reason it didn't take, the first time. It takes a while to update too.

I've received my hardcopy sourcebook. The quality of the book construction is fair, but nothing outstanding. Thinner pages than I'd expected. The printing is very clean and easy to read. Some of the art suffers from the digital printing, not true greyscale but rather dots. The front cover is gorgeous, but the back is mostly blank.

And, of course, the content is awesome and I can't wait to use the book to run a campaign!!

Yeah, I hear that with lulu.com your geographical location can determine what quality you get. They have different printing companies around the world, and it depends which one you wind up with in your region.

While I am with Pathos Street as regards book body quality, etc., I deem that it is as good as it gets, especially for a fresh start with self-publishing. Oh, and:

30st Nov 2009 - Order placed!
14th Dec 2009 - Order shipped!
/cue 3 weeks of anguished anticipation/
05th Jan 2010 - I finally get it! :D
07th Jan 2010 - Braggin' rights to D&D 3.5 PnP group!
12th Jan 2010 - Braggin' rights to Warhammer PnP group!
+/- profit, etc.
