Post by WrathOG777 » Wed Feb 16, 2005 8:35 pm

Say, like this one below? So the post starts making music when you open it?

http://myhome.naver.net/cineleigh/mid/Down.mid

That is my opinion, not nessasarily anyone else's opinon, might just be, but that would be a coincodence, and damnit, sometimes the crap I write is not even my opinion either.

If you haven't figured this out yet, I think this might help you.

as long as html is enabled you can use the standard html function to add sound to a post, just like you would a webpage.

not sure if there is an easier BBCode tag for this so you might be stuck using HTML.

<EMBED SRC="nameofyourfile" AUTOSTART="true" HIDDEN="true">

To include a way to turn off the sound, insert dimensions(bolded):

<EMBED SRC="nameofyourfile" AUTOSTART="true" HIDDEN="false" Width="145" Height="30">.

Within that tag, you can also tell it to loop (repeat) by including LOOP="true".

EDIT: Oh yeah, you will need the file to be hosted on the web, just like a link to a picture or something.

Also - please don't make them auto-start. Many people read the Forum at work. :wink:
Life is never as bad as you think it is, although that doesn't help at the time.

Good point. then just replace the autostart value to "false" and make sure to keep it unhidden. That way if people want to hear whatever it is you got up, they can click it and listen or stop it if it's lame :lol:

Us Mozilla users are protected from such tunes as Gnomeworld and Jill's Diary. Can't decide if that's a blessing or a curse...

I read that post but never heard any music. Did you get rid of it before I read the thread? What music was it? Horrifying stuff?

you did use the <embed src> didn't you? I'd feel stupid if there was an easier way lol
