NPC conversation / Override death script

Post by TheBluDragon » Sat Dec 06, 2003 5:53 am

Is it posssible to use the character name generator (from character generation), or a similar function in a conversation? If so how do I do it?

What I want is for the PC to be able to give a false name to authorities when giving a name. This will then be recorded in a variable, along with the fact that it is a false name. They will of course have the choice to give thier real name.

2nd Question:
Can I override the death script at all? I am not talking about on an entire area. What I want to do is to have a certain NPC "kill" the PC, but instead of going into the normal avlis death/bleeding script, they go to the local jail. Yeah, the NPC is a city guard. I don't want to do this as an area change, coz if the PC dies to something other than the guard they still need to go the normal way.
Anyone got any ideas how I can do this?
