You are definitely a staple of Avlis. What brought you start playing here?

I blame Lesli, she was talking about Avlis and I got interested.

2008, man I've been playing this game over 11 years now

Doesn't feel like it has been that long, now trying to remember all the stuff that has happened in Avlis since then.

Was Kassha your first or was there another?

Kassha was my first, I tried a few alts but was never able to get into them.

That's pretty impressive to me, queen of alts.
Did he go straight to the Red Order or did you bounce around a bit first?

Pretty much straight to the Red Order, there was a bit of experimenting with ye old house robbing so he had a hefty pool of chaos points. Spent years as an initiate. I think he broke 20th before he made full magus.

Oh? Kassha, a common thief? Did you ever get caught by law enforcement or shadowy figures?

Ahh the tween levels when you get that first bit of rogue and you have to misbehave. It was mostly in Elysia, I think I got caught once and was scolded for it.

No jail time or community service? Pish. Lucky you!
During those 11 years, what was your favorite plot that Kassha has been a part of, big or small?

Oh man a good question, there were so many things he's stuck his fingers in. I'd have to say it is a toss up between Ferrellian Orcs having an assassin contract on his head or the M'chek/Drotid war where he got all his good war stories.

How did you end up with an NPC orc hit squad on you?

I blame Sammy. We were brutalizing the Ferrell Orcs and one thing lead to another and the Orcs got their feelings hurt.

Hah, blame Sammy is better than blame Snow.

Also, we killed a lot of them, and stole some special blood rubies that were once part of a Verossan statue.

Did they ever catch up to Kassha?

Quite often, but at that point he was getting a bit difficult to kill so he always survived the attempts. Though there was sometimes collateral damage so eventually poor Kassha had to track their leader down to return the gems, of course he returned the wrong ones and well ... the moral of the story is don't play with Verossan artifacts.

That is a great lesson.
This next question may tie in to that, but what was your biggest "oh shit, what have I done" moment on Avlis?

He's not had any spectacular screw ups, outside of the few ancient evils with failed will saves, the time he tried to kill Archibald to run off with Comfort after a failed will saves. Probably the one that caused him the most trouble was when he was almost court martialed during the war (Drotid).
He was part of a group that went to rescue Finn and Ellowin from the shaahesk.

Did he leave Finn's booze behind?

Ha probably, but I think poor Finn was thankful for the rescue. The real quick story was a group of elves went to rescue them, Kassha joins up, leads them from Nanshi, through BBerg, To M'chek. The big deal was M'chek had just closed the war zone to non military members so anyone not part of the M'chekian military was automatically an enemy combatant.
Hyacinth tried to stop the group, Kassha tired to stone her, then she followed us into the warzone. Where Kassha puts on his Blackhawk helmet (he was a private) and goes look I out rank everyone lets go kick down a door.
Well Hyacinth being Hyacinth of course filed a formal report of the incident. Iron Fist went not our problem it's the Blackhawks' problem. So poor Thaylis had to deal with it.

Though Kassha got demoted, and was told it would be a cold day in Hell before he ever got promoted.

Other end of the spectrum, what are you most proud of, PC wise?

He's done a lot of noted stuff. Story wise I think it's a toss up between his engagement during the fall of Elysia or the sinking of the Dawn of Terror

Everyone by know has to have heard of the Dawn of Terror and if they haven't they need to get an IG telling of it. I like to embellish it a lot.
The engagement was probably like a funny RomCom.

There we are at Dracon Gate trying to save Elysia
Kobolds everywhere.
because nothing says romance like kobolds.
So a group of us are trying to hold off these sever crashing spawns of kobolds while Fergus and some others are doing Vorin knows what up in the keep.
and it was one of those moments where it was hey we could all die to a huge pack of shitty kobolds.
So in the midst of this there is Pantera McFadden swinging her huge Scythe back and forth, Kassha Firehart breathing acid across the ceaseless hordes, and Thror Stormhammer doing unspeakable violence with his huge hammer.
And Kassha survey what could be there horrible death decides to propose.
Pantera McFadden... breathes acid, chomps an unlucky shaahesk slave driver.... we might die here today, crushes a kobold and I don't want to die without professing my love
kills a bunch of kobolds I love you Pantera kills some more kobolds will you,
then Thror screams out “shut the hells up and kill the damned kobolds”
make an honest mage out of me .... Thror screams again “less talking more defending”
and marry me ... Thror again, can you do this later
And unlike every other Avlis wedding there were no assassins

Oh man it is hard to pick out of so many.
I'll have to go with Hyacinth, Kassha chased after her for a while and then they ended up having all sorts of deep philosophical musings on the nature of good and such while killing bugbears and what not
But that is a hard choice because you have all of the old Flames, and then Liam and Dillon ... oh man Dillon I almost forgot about Kassha and Dillon getting drunk at what might be the end of the world and fingering Cha'reth 2.0

Flipside of that question, who is your favorite NPC, obviously not the orcs?

Well I was going to say the elf at Zvid who was constantly walking back and forth, but really it would have to be Teth (Ebony NPC).
Kassha met him at Bedlam's wedding and got regaled with the story about how Teth wanted to make everyone a wild mage.
He was just such an interesting funny character it was like wow this guy is great.
2nd Favorite NPC would be Kanatiss also of the Ebony. He taught Kassha advanced transmutations in Drotid.

Ebony has some great NPCs.
The Trust in general does.

Speaking of transmutations, you are one of the most skilled on Avlis, as well as an artificer. Your name is practically synonymous with both. What would you say was your defining moment as a character? The moment that made you realize Kassha was forever a part of the world and lore.

So Kassha is your only PC. Is there a class or character you've been tempted to roll up as an alt that you'd like to play?

Ranger, the companion system looks fun, and watching Mor kill stuff he is good at killing makes it look fun.

Rangers are my favorite and I've not made a successful one yet.

The girls, despite getting laid off it seems like I am constantly running them around, chasing them around, or following them around.

plus the 4 year old just discovered Legos.

we have a very strict clean up the toys policy so no horrible midnight foot disfiguring yet ... but she has expensive lego tastes.

They are all pretty expensive these days but you get to play with them too.
Not that I still buy Legos. (editor's note: I still buy Legos for myself)

Which is funny because I play a Charisma 40 egoist who constantly runs his mouth to anyone.

A bit of a personal wish because ... need something new to artitice, but really I'm impressed that Avlis is still going after all this time and the creation team is still constantly tweaking and fixing things
They already get a lot of love but they deserve a bit more.
