Huzzah! From my perspective, it looked as though you were being nimble and giving everyone stuff to do, which is both difficult (especially in such a big group) and appreciated!

Thoroughly creepy, unforgiving in a good way and let the party take it in their own direction. All I ever wanted in a quest...top tier stuff

Great event last night. Part RP followed by (nicely balanced) smash-em up sessions (all sorts of bats, including were-bats, Umberhulks and Miconids - throw in an evil Enchantress and a belligerent Blockdelver Dwarf for tone). Existing areas rehabbed with added decorations. Some new areas too! Did I mention the crafting supplies? The adventure seemed to have something for everyone! A fun adventure overall and excellent reward at the end for all the character's efforts. Thanks The'ton!

Wow. Those areas were brilliant and he didn't even miss a beat when the players threw in a twist of their own. :prost:

Super agile and responsive DMing! Three cheers for finding a way to give everyone a meaningful win, including those of us who were always at the edges, and really rewarding the people who took big swings!

Okay now, here I'm posting again after I said I was NOT going to read the boards and take it EASY.... none the less. I was rescued last night by scaylz, now you ask WHY did i need to be rescued.. its a long story about an old-bie acting like a newbie, and being turned to stone

Anyways I realized my rescuer was also somebody I RPed with, VERY VERY early after joining Avlis. Like 20 YEARS ago early. This person along with others way back then stopped me from my server hunting in search of RP.

So this is an entry that used to be on the boards long ago in Sinn's diary but its since been removed, but I thought, scaylz here would get a kick out of reading it. And just a point.. its nights of RP like the one below that is what Avlis special to me. So here is an oldie but a good one, thanks scaylz this song is for you!

Entry 22
I stumbled upon a temple in the woods yesterday just south of that human camp I drank in with Manual, Val, and Mel. Inside I felt nearly at peace with myself. Though I found myself regretting my choices in life. I thought of my father, my sister, my lost love Drisi and my lost children. Was I wrong to leave Dorian in Redgate? Never the less I met a good fellow in the temple of Dru'El. Gil is very social and very likeable.

We travel a bit together and met a friend of his named, Emery. I don?t know what to think of this Emery, he takes himself very seriously. But I can tell he has a good heart. He is a druid I think. The three of us journeyed south toward the human lands. We came across another elf that was in quiet a hurry named, Cha'reth, I think he was a cleric or something and people were in dire need, so he rushed off with only a few words. Em (as Gil calls him), Gil, and I all traveled south. Fighting spiders and beetles, and Ettercaps. Gil and Em seemed interested in the smelly glands of the beasts. Though I know not what they are used for, they must be worth something, to carry them around smelling as bad as they do. We met another elven hunter that seem to be standing watch by a cave. Em spoke of somebody called the 'Gentleman' and how he wanted to take a look at the cave contents. So we all ventured in.

It was a small cave more like a deep hole in the ground. And as I entered first I came face to face with a huge ancient dire bear! The beast was just about to attack me when Em managed to calm the beast. There was a body in the hole. A man stuck though the chest with a huge stake. Like he had fallen in to the hole and landed on it. The body looked to have been there for a long long time. After searching about we left the cave. Once on the surface we made camp and talk deep into the night. Gil and I drank a bit, but Em seemed to not think it wise. They both told me of a man that was attacking people on site and stealing items from there bodies. They said this 'Gentleman' could not be killed and that each time he died he came back to life stronger than before. After talking about this I came up with an idea to try and gain information about this 'Gentleman'. If a group all attacked him while one hid in the shadows. Then the attackers could flee? the 'Gentleman' may give chase but the main idea is for the man hiding to track him to his lair. Maybe to find out how to deal a real death to him. I don't know if it would work but Em and Gil both think its not a bad idea.

The next morning we met a friend named Sea'mar. We explored a cave filled with lizardmen. The battle was hot but in the end we cleared the whole cavern of them. Sea'mar went his own way while Gil, Em, and I headed north.

We where attack by huge beetles in a hollow. Em and Gil snuck by them with out a sound but they must have spotted me. The beetles attack me while Em and Gil traveled ahead. Only after the sounds of battle reached their ears did they turn back. Gil raced to my aid and then EM attack in a flurry of spells. I saw Gil fall in a pool of blood, and then I was struck in the back by a tusk of one of the beetles. I looked down at the tusk sticking out of my chest I knew it was the end.. I fell to my knees and the beetle left me to attack Em. In my last breaths I saw Em fall as well under a rush of beetles.

I awoke in a place of hills and fire. I was naked and the smells of burnt flesh filled my nostrils. I saw demons and devils everywhere. I ran down a hill with a huge demon chasing me. Then I noticed I was slowing down. I was running on 4 feet. I had hooves! The cruel gods, I was to be a meal for the demon. I turned into a cow! I tried to call out in fear, but all that came out was a "Moo". The demon then was upon me, I was struck down, laying in the grass bleeding. The demon was hovering over me .. it look as it is was going to eat me. Then the world shifted, I was upside down and then back in my body, back in the clearing where the beetles attacked. Em had managed to sneak away to heal himself and came back to finish the beetles and raise Gil and myself from the gates of death. I was confused and very dizzy. Gil and Em guided me to an Inn and left me to rest, where I write this now. Along the way I told them of my visions of death, of being a cow, and the pain. They both nodded and seem sad for me. I learned that not everybody goes to the same heaven or hell. It depends on you beliefs. I still don't understand how Em, who I had met just the other day, would risk everything to save me. But I thanked him as he and Gil left.
