Good Deeds
Was making the hike to car today after giving a lecture and the pain was killing me. I screwed up while remodeling the bathroom and strained something in a bad bad way. So I've gone from slow casual roll with a cane to a rather painful OMFG this hurts and I am only 40 shuffle. While on my shuffle out to the badlands where I had to part today. I meet two young men jogging. Who after telling them I was fine and that I'll make it but they wouldn't have it. One offered to carry my bag and the other to help me walk. I refuse and said I'll be fine but they wouldn't accept and I should accept they won't accept no for an answer. We chatted as we went and finally made it my car. I asked their names and they refused. Said good deeds have no names and waved then went back to jogging before I could even say thanks. Very nice young men whom had zero douche bag attitude and saw someone that could benefit from a few moments of their time. While I'm very tempted and know if I call the gym and describe them I can learn their names. I've decided to honor what they said about good deeds have no names.
Re: Good Deeds
News like that makes my day.
“People speak of hope as if it is this delicate, ephemeral thing made of whispers and spider's webs. It's not. Hope has dirt on her face, blood on her knuckles, the grit of cobblestones in her hair, and just spat out a tooth as she rises for another go.”
