Too much to rant about but rants are just about anger and I am not angry. So, thank you, dad, for allowing me to look after you for the past five and a half years and the past seven months as your care giver. The time you and I spent together is some of the best times we shared. The talks, stories, jokes, and just watching tv together will be something I treasure. It's time no one else got to experience with you. That in your final moments, you opened your eyes and made eye contact with me and then my wife then the smile you left on your face. You know you were loved and we loved you.

Thank You Dad, it was an honor to have care for you and an experience I would not trade. The joy we shared now overshadows the pain of your loss.

Very sorry to hear that.

I lost my Mother in 1982 and my Father 25 years later, after being his carer for most of that time. The loss tears you apart. Nothing I can say at the moment is likely to help you in you time of need.
